Chapter 101 101

Chapter 101 101
When Jack didn't get any response from Nathan, he repeated, "I hope you understand that, Nathan."

Nathan exhaled deeply. He gave a small smile. "Of course not, uncle. It is a good start." He said sincerely. He is not going to lose hope of the Turner's moving back to Silverbrook completely so soon. But it is definitely a good start.

Nathan turned to Brooke and gave her a smile. She also smiled back. There was something about the way she smiled at that very moment. Since their reunion, she hasn't smiled back at him so genuinely as she did now. Or maintained eye contact as well. That was another win for Nathan.

Nathan then decided to take another move further to try his luck. He leaned to her side and gave her a hug. To his surprise, Brooke hugged back. Jolts of happy electricity moved around his body. He didn't need anyone to tell him but he is definitely progressing faster than he thought.

At that moment, he only wished Brooke would open up to him even more. Her warm embrace felt calming and welcoming. He carved for her acceptance even more.

After their breakfast, Nathan announced. "My parents are waiting and eager to see you all. Shall we go to them now?" He knew more than wanting Brooke to accept him again, his parents also have their own heart's yearning.

Robert and Marise wanted to rekindle their old friendship with the Turners.

"Shall we?" Asked, directing the question at Brooke.

"Grandma and Grandpa? I can't wait to see them. I miss them so much." Liam declared.

"I - I can't wait to see them too." Samantha said with tearful eyes.

"It's been so many years." Jack agreed with his wife. He helped her up from the dining chair.

Moments later, they arrived at the Leo's mansion. Robert and Marise were already waiting at the entrance of the mansion.

"Jack, it's so good to see you." Robert called out.

"Robert.... it's so good to see you too and doing well. I am so glad that Bee was the one who operated on your heart." Jack shouted back as he walked towards his old time friend. The men laughed as they embraced each other in a manly way.

"Oh my dearest Sam, I have always dreamt of this day to come. When I will set my eyes out on you." Marise cried as she rushed towards Samantha.

Samantha also rushed to her and soon, they were crying in each other's embrace.

"I have missed you so much, Marise." Samantha said.

It was a beautiful moment for both families as everyone was teary-eyed and smiling at the same time.

"I really thought I was going to die without seeing you, my friend." Robert said after they released each other from the hug. "Thanks to my dear Bee, I am able to see you again. Plus a grandson." He said the last part with extra joy.

"It is clear that fate has other plans for us. And I am liking how it is turning out." Jack said.

"Grandma... grandpa..." Liam also screamed as he ran to his grandparents.

"Oh my child. How I have missed you so much." Marise said, releasing Samantha from the hug. She turned her attention to Liam.

"I missed you too grandma." Liam said as he ran into Marise's arms.

After that, he went to Robert too. The man gave Liam a gentle hug as well. Since he is still recovering from his open heart surgery.

After showing each other how happy one was to see the other. They finally walked into the Leos' mansion.

When they settled, they all had a heart to heart. Especially about the fact that the Turners kept Liam hidden from the Leos.

"Oh please, we don't have to bring that up any more. It is all in the past." Marise waved it off.

"Yes. It is best to let bygones be bygone. It's time to move on now. Concentrate on the present and our future. Especially Liam's." Robert reasoned with them.

Jack and Samantha nodded in agreement. "We would love that." Samantha said.

They continued to chat about life and businesses. Especially between the men. They also brought discussions about some of the people that they all knew. About the changes that had happened in all their lives.

Later on, Robert requested Brooke to check on his surgery to see how it is progressing. Since she is the expert there and her father too. But Robert insisted Brooke is the one to do it.

"The healing is looking good, uncle. It is going at a good pace. It usually takes up to six weeks for an open heart surgery to heal." Brooke explained after checking his heart's progress. "Your cardiologist must have given you detailed instructions to monitor your heart's rhythm. And also maintain your medications."

"Yes dear. I did and I try to keep up with all the instructions." Robert answered, as he buttoned his shirt up. "Bee my dear, I miss my morning runs. When can I return to doing that?" He asked. Even though he has not been doing that for a while even before the surgery. But now, he really wanted to go back to doing that.

"Uncle, there is no need to rush for now. You need to heal completely." Brooke began to explain. "First, you need to undergo cardiac therapy first. Then it would be decided. Slow and steady wins the race." She added with a smile.

"Thank you, dear." Robert said. He then turned his attention to Nathan, who was standing by the door for a while now. "Did you hear that son? Slow and steady wins the race." He ended with a smile.

Nathan looked between his father and Brooke. He then groaned.

Brooke on the other hand, raised her brow, questionably. Trying to understand what was going on.

All Robert did was give a light chuckle after Nathan's reaction.

Brooke could only guess what Robert meant by what he said to his son. She kept it to herself anyway.
