Now I know I truly hurt this man, and in a long while I have actually not had this amount of pity for any one at all.
He really seemed genuine.
But then I couldn't help myself from thinking.
“ If he really didn't deserve the stress, I mean, he wouldn't even have caused me so much shame and pain.
I mean he had no idea of his own son.
Elgreen is as many years old as the last time I shared a bed with Jonathan, and he hasn't got the slightest idea of the existence of his son.
He of course didn't seem to care of my well being even after he had his way with me several times in the past.
Not a call, not a check, all alone in another man's land I raised a son alone.
And here he was, supposedly deserving of a break.
I smiled dryly.
“ Well, well, I agree with you, I know for sure you are trying your best to right all of your wrongs, but then again I'm only asking that you actually think about your steps before you make them you know as humans we are prone to making these mistakes a lot.
May honestly be innocent on your part, but then don't cause more pain to another in the process of finding your truth.
I believe you understand my point of view.”
He went silent for a while, and he nodded his head.
“ I get it totally, I understand all that you have said, and yeah I must say thank you for your understanding.”
He picked his glasses up from the table, and folding into his breast pocket, he rubbed his hair with his palm, careful smoothening the sides out.
“ Allright then, see ya later. Call me”
He made a call sign, with a smile, while I waved him.
He soon shut the door behind him as he left for his office.
Sighs
Crazy times this is at the moment.
Truly crazy, and unbelievable I must say.
Days pass, and in my office.
On the news, a subsidiary of the Milton corps had won the bid for the endorsement, subject to outbidding.
I smiled at the news.
“ This son of a bitch thinks he can lie to me and make it all go away.
He surely is in it for his interest too, he makes it seem like it was all the idea of Mr Jews. He had his share of the loot in all of this.
But then the precision and accuracy actually needed to be studied.
There surely was an information from within
This was way too coordinated to be a natural development.
There was a lot of steps in place actually and it is actually crazy to think.
A call soon came on my phone.
I stared at the dialer.
“ Nanny”
I almost never get calls from her.
And all the tears she has been with me.
She was in charge of my son, and she had basically all that she needed for her job without getting me involved. And yeah I could not tell why I would be needed by her.
I soon lowered the volume of the television.
“ Hey Elsa.”
“Yes ma'am good day ma'am, there has been an emergency at school, and Elgreen had to be rushed to the hospital.
We have not know what exactly the problem is at the moment, but I decided to inform you as soon as I learned of it.”
I held my hand on my lips.
“ Oh my days! What do you mean you have no idea what it was Elsa!! You're the mother Elsa for goodness sake!”
I yelled over the phone, definitely not sounding logical, and right away, I packed my bags.
“ What hospital?”
“ 24th Street”
She replied and I hung up.
I soon shut down the systems and I made to leave when the door opened. Revealing Jonathan with files on his hands.
“ Hey Kay, where you headed to seeming all untidy? You seem rattled. What's the issue?”
He asked and I immediately hit my hand on my forehead.
“ Trust me Joe, we will talk when I get back, I really have an emergency to attend to right now, critical. I'm sorry, but we will have to do this”
I pointed at the files, “ later when I get it all sorted out.”
He stared at me surprised.
“What do you mean? You tell me all these things don't you? What exactly is the emergency? Is Everything alright? He asked and I nodded, and turned to him, I pressed my palms together.
“ Please Joe, we will continue when I get things sorted out.”
He nodded his head without conviction, and and nodded.
“ Yeah, thank you, se you later.”
I made to leave but he called out.
“ At least I could drive you there. You won't have to order a cab to an emergency.”
I sighed and turned to him..
“ Joe.. I'm fine , thanks for the idea, get on with the days stuff, and get me updated later when I get back.”
He squinted his eyes at me, but I didn't care, as I knew what he meant.
I really couldn't let him get a hint at his son.
He didn't deserve it just yet. Or so I thought.
At the hospital, apparently Elgreen had swallowed an acid from the laboratory by accident, and gotten quite the reaction from his system.
I had met with him, and comforted him.
Elsa was there too.
I felt sorry for her, knowing fully well she could not have prevented it from happening since she was at home at the time of the happening.
But then I really needed someone to pour some of the anger on at the moment.
I was assured by the doctors that I could leave and all would be taken care of.
Elgreen also seemed pretty stable and normal now.
I went over and gave him a hug.
“Champion! Do well to take care, and avoid such things from occurring next time. Elsa will take care from here allright, mummy has a lot to take care of at work okay?”
He was silent, and I sat beside him.
“ Elgreen you didn't respond?”
He cleared his throat. “ Are you my mother? Or is Elsa my mother? I have more memories with her than I have with you.”
There was silence in the room as I could hear my heart shatter by those words.
“ Well, go on as well, go to work, and call her in before you leave.
And dad? You keep saying he will soon show up.
When?
Ever since I could remember it has been the same tale. An imaginary dad I suppose.”
He turned his head the other way, while I placed my hand on my chest.
“ Elgreen don't do this”
I couldn't help but spill a tear or two.
I couldn't believe it. My own son having almost a worse childhood than I had.
Definitely not what I wished.
And am I monster yet?
