Kayla.
He paused at the door.
Slowly turning towards me.
“Yeah what's up?”
I smacked my lip and sighed.
“ Erm… actually, I do think I might have a lead on a thing or two still.
But then you really have to make use of your head in all of this. Not your heart once.”
He squinted his eyes at me with a wry smile.
“ And why do you mean by me making use of my mind instead of my heart?”
I sighed once more and shrugged.
“ Alright fine then, her it is.
Actually of lately I've been in contact with George.”
He closed his eyes and reclined in his seat.
I immediately got up from my seat to where he sat.
“ No no Joe it's nothing like that in being serious.
Listen to me.”
I shook his hands and he sat up.
Raising his arms in the air briefly.
“ Allright if you say so.
How does that have to do with any of this?”
He asked me with an obvious look of defeat in his eyes, as he constantly smacked his lips.
I sighed and shook my head.
“ Listen Joe. He contacted me first.
He claimed to want to make things right between us.
But then you should trust me to know who actually means good and evil for me.
And as any sensible person would, I talked him out of the idea.”
Jonathan nodded his head without much conviction, “ allright get to the part where I have to get involved.”
I smirked at him, getting annoyed by his reactions, but then I decided to downplay my anger.
“ Well, whatever.. here is what he said to me; he said all of our misunderstandings were engineered by someone by the name Milano Jews.
Very popular name in this part of the world I must say.”
Jonathan
———
Oh shit.
Jews again.
Yeah he could be very much involved. I know of the people I need to be wary off, and of course he tips my list at any time and any day.
I just never thought he would come striking this hard.
“ So what about him?
Milano Jews.”
She took a deep pause as if to assess my reaction.
“ You should have a lot of history with that name you know.
Cause as far as I know, I have nothing doing with him in the past or future, and somehow he has managed to get in my way, while at the same time you seem to be having these issues with your firm. Too many knots to be a coincidence don't you think.”
I interrupted her, “ hold up. You haven't given me a good reason why he might be involved in my shit.”
She took a deep breath, then continued.
“ Allright here. George claims Milano had his mind poisoned against me To take me down for his ally to rise.”
My eyes widened.” And who is the ally?”
I asked, and she shrugged. “ He didn't say to me. I didn't want to entertain him any further you know.”
I hit the table with my fist, “ hell nah it better not be shit I'm thinking.”
“ And what is it you are thinking?”
She asked, while I hissed and got up from the seat.
“ Have a nice day, we will talk things out later I have some findings to make.”
I got up to leave, and she called out. “ Hey dear be careful in your dealings.
Some of these things are more twisted than we actually think they are.
We need to be careful in or dealings”
I paused and turned to her.
“ There is no care here sweet. No care!.
Your company crumbled as a result of some leaked conspiracies, and by setbacks are here as a result of the same.
There can be only one you know”
I placed my fingers on my lips, squinting my eyes at her.
She stared at me like as though she was running calculations in her head.
“ You can tell what I think though?” I asked, and after a brief moment of silence, she shook her head.
“ Nah.. not one that I can… oh shit! No!”
Her eyes lit up.
I smirked.
“ Nah. She can't be the one. Hey I'm not trying to get her wrongfully accused here.”
I smiled.
“ Nah.. you won't have to be doing such, it's already known by me.
It's not about you even.
Its the reasonable answer. Miriam surely needs to be checked. She of course is the Common denominator here”
I smiled and I could see the look of regret on her face.
“ What's wrong? Why that look on your face?”
She shook her head.
“ It's the fact that this is only an assumption.”
I walked up to her.
“ Relax, and stop being silly. This is a fact.”
“ No it's not!” She exclaimed.
“ We only feel like she could be simply because you claim to have seen her via your research as the one who had gotten me into the condition I found myself in the hospital.”
I nodded my head.
“ Yes exactly!”
She shook her head, “ hell nah Joe. She has a problem with me allright, that I am aware of, but not you Joe.
Matter of fact, she only wants to get rid of me for all I know of.
She claims to actually want and love you.
And I know it may just be true.
You just seem not to really be ready for her.”
I reached to stop her from talking, but she shove me aside.
“ No you will let me finish. I know she is the one meant for you all from the beginning.
If my miserable father hadn't gotten into the mess he got himself into, I wouldn't even have had any reason to get into the way of both of you.
And I totally understand her pain.”
I couldn't bear it anymore, and I bang the desk hard.
“ Enough! Enough of that girl! Enough of it, we can't keep going like this.
How many times do I really have to prove myself to you?
I know quite allright I have done a lot of harm to you in the past.
Quite a lot, and I am aware of all, I don't try to hide or shy away from it actually.
Fast forward to now, and you can see for yourself, I feel like I have done right about enough to convince you that I am now changed, and I really do fancy you a lot in my life. Can't you see this?! I mean, I don't have to kill myself before you confirm this do I?”
I hissed and walked a few steps around the room.
