Chapter 138 The Mysterious Helper

Paul was chilling in the corner with his coffee when he overheard Carol and Ida chatting.

When Ida asked Carol if she could borrow him, Paul nearly choked on his coffee.

'What the heck? Ida can't seriously want to sleep with me, right?' Paul thought, totally stunned.

Carol was just as shocked, especially since she was the one who jokingly suggested Ida join them in bed.

Before Carol could say anything, Paul's little coffee mishap caught their attention.

Seeing the two women looking his way, Paul awkwardly stepped out of the shadows.

"Uh, I wasn't eavesdropping. I just came up here for some fresh air," Paul tried to explain.

Carol didn't care why Paul was on the rooftop. She turned to Ida, eyebrows raised, and asked, "Why do you need Paul?"

Ida quickly realized Carol had misunderstood and waved her hands. "No, no, it's not like that. The whistleblower wants to meet Paul."

"Whistleblower?" Paul and Carol echoed, looking puzzled.

Ida nodded. "Yeah, the media helping us with the expose said we need to meet the whistleblower to get the info. And they specifically asked for Paul from HR. No Paul, no info."

Paul pointed at himself, baffled. "Me? I don't even know anyone in the media."

Ida shrugged. "That's what they said. We'll find out more when we meet the whistleblower."

After a moment of silence, Paul realized that getting this info could be a big win for Carol's team.

"Alright, I'll meet them," Paul agreed.

After hashing out the details, Ida left the rooftop.

Once she was gone, Paul turned to Carol, still confused. "Didn't you prank her in the warehouse last time? How are you two friends now?"

Carol laughed. "You don't get women's friendships. That prank was just to even the score. Now we can be friends."

"Well, as long as Ida's trustworthy. But I know you can handle it," Paul smiled.

Carol smiled back, but her hand wandered to Paul's crotch.

"I missed this while you were in the hospital. After all those days, you must be dying for some fun," Carol said, licking her lips.

Paul smiled back, feeling a bit guilty. Everyone except Cecil thought he was seriously injured, but he had been spending his nights with Cecil. No way could he tell Carol that.

Later that evening, Paul showed up at the bar to meet the whistleblower. He noticed two women in baseball caps sitting in a corner.

"Wearing caps in here? That's not suspicious at all," Paul muttered, sipping his drink. Those women were Carol and Ida, curious about the whistleblower.

"Who could it be?" Paul wondered, thinking through everyone he knew. None of them worked in the media.

Just then, a woman's voice came from behind him.

"Sorry, I'm late."

Paul turned and was shocked to see Julia. "Julia? You're the one meeting me?"

Julia sat next to him and ordered a drink.

"Surprised to see me?" Julia smiled.

"So, you're the whistleblower?" Paul couldn't believe it. He always thought Julia was just lucky because of her husband.

"Since I joined your team, I want to win. So, I helped out a bit," Julia winked and handed Paul a letter.

"This is info about the chairman. Use it wisely, pick the parts that help us, and give it to the media." Julia leaned in close to Paul's ear.

"Do you know why I wanted to meet here? Michelle has people watching her at the office. I wanted some alone time with you." Julia's seductive tone and warm breath made Paul's ears turn red.
