32. dinner for three

Green Eyes then came around to stand at the side of her, grinning broadly as he too presented her a rose that he'd been clutching onto. "Here let me help you."

Then placing his hand at the small of her back, sending those same sparks shooting up her spine where it touched her flesh, as he helped her around the chair. Netayah was assisted down into the chair at the head of the table and almost together it seemed the two of them pushed the chair in. Netayah fluttered eyelashes shyly at all the attention she received from them thus far, definitely not used to being the center of attention.

Rather than laminating how out of the ordinary this was she glanced down at her hands, as she breathed in the sweet heavenly scent of the roses. "Thank you, the both of you. These roses are absolutely beautiful. But how on earth did you get them blue?" She smelled them again. "they don't smell like dye."

"There's no need to dye them," Green Eyes elected to inform her of, as he stepped off to stand on the left side of the table forever watching her next to him. "These are iridescent roses."

"Exactly," Blue eyes thought to add his own two cents into the conversation, as if determined he would be included in the private talk. Vying for her attention while not competing. "They bloom once every month, always in a different color. This bloom happens to be blue."

Her eyes widened at the confession. "Oh wow, that's amazing. I'd often heard about them when I was little, my uncle had spoken about them during his visits, but never actually seen one before."

Blue eyes smiled. "Now she'd seen two."

His twin brother then reached across the distance to cup the side of her face, brushing the pad of his thumb down her cheek, right across the corner of her lips. "I love seeing you smile."

Jolting forward at the statement he'd made to her, Netayah instantly fell silent as she stared at them, not quite certain on what to say. Or if she should say anything. This was entirely new territroy for her to be wading through, as she'd never had a man focus so much time and attention, not certain on how to deal with it. It seemed she didn't need to. Green eyes suddenly twisted around where he stood off to the side of her, the smile on his face still ever present. "As we wanted tonight to be extra special for you and we weren't certain of what you liked, we prepared every dish our kingdom has."

"You?," she squeaked out.

Blue eyes grinned. "We're more than pretty faces."

Netayah was thoroughly shocked at the revelation that they'd personally seen to preparing tonight's meal, rather than allowing a cook to handle the task. It was truly astonishing the twins went so far out of their way to insure the evening was special for the occasional, all for her sake. "Now where would you like to start?"

A frown creased in the bridge of her brow as she stared down the long table, that was filled to bursting with more plates that she could count. The men had definitely outdone themselves as there had to be close to a hundred different dishes, from various things to main dishes to deserts. It had to take the twins hours of them slaving away inside of the kitchen to be able to accomplish preparing each of the courses tonight. She shook her head. "You pick."

Blue eyes frowned in return, though he seemed hurt too. "If you don't like anything that we have prepared for you then all you need to do is tell us, we will only be all too happy to make you something else."

Oh my goodness, these two were too good to be true. Here they were having presented her a feast she'd never be able to eat in a single month, having slaved away in the kitchen for hours. Yet even despite the difficulties they must've endured to prepare these beautiful dishes, they were prepared to go right back just to make something that she liked. When the men looked about ready to stalk out of the room, undoubtedly to go in search of something that would appeal to her senses, a hand reached for him. "No please don't do that. There's no need. It's not that I don't like what you've prepared for the evening, I just don't know where to begin. I just hadn't eaten something so...rich, so I honestly don't know which one would be the best to start with. So please pick for me, I will eat whatever you give me."

"How about something sweet," Green Eye offered up the suggestion for the dilemma she'd been placed in, placing a giant roll in the center of a plate, that almost oozed from gooeyness. Then placing the plate down on the table in front of her, he stepped back to his spot, smiling down at her the whole while. "It is sweet, soft and filling. Just like you."

Netayah chuckled. "Smooth move."

He tipped his head. "I do try my best."

Blue eyes then reached for a bottle of wine sitting on a cart off to the side, holding out the bottle for her inspection. "I wasn't certain what vinetage you liked. I hope this one you approve of, it has a little bit of a sweet taste to it."

She shrugged helplessly. "I've never tried alcohol."

"Never?"

"Nope, not a single drop."

Green Eyes chuckled in response of her statement. "We'll have to definitely correct that mistake, as my brother quite enjoys his liquor and I usually always drink in the evening. We can't have you be the only sober one." He poured a glass. "At least try a sip."

Electing to concede to his wishes, as it seemed quite important for him to broaden her horizons, she reached for the glass flute. Swirling it around inside of her wine glass, inhaling the aroma that definitely sprouted a sweetness she hadn't been expecting, she took a tentative sip. Then a second, larger one. Netayah was astonished to realize the wine he'd chosen lacked the tartness some claimed wine to have, it went down smooth, rich and sweet.

She grinned. "Wow, I absolutely love it. Thank you."

Pleased at the assurances he'd received from her, showing her that same dazzling smile that did things to her insides, he reached for her glass. Then pouring her a hefty dose of the wine into the glass, it was then placed down on the table in front of her plate. "Then it's a good thing we have several cases of this blend, you can have a glass whenever you want."

Whenever several portions of the dishes were set out on the table between the men, the both of them took a seat, sitting on either side of her. Once she finished off the first serving she'd been given, then the other one presented her with the one he'd chosen for her to try. It would seem these men had decided merely not to prepare the entire meal, but were personally going to feed her on top of that. It was rather overwhelming to have two such gorgeous men centering their attention on her, leaving her a little frazzled, but didn't dare argue.

Blue eyes watched her from where he sat on the chair to her right side, looking as if he wanted to eat her alive where she was sitting. His grin widened when she shifted uneasily in her seat, as if he understood precisely what reaction his look was having on her. "Seeing how we've only actually met the one time and we want to get to know you better, as I'm sure you want the same thing, feel free to ask us anything."

"Anything at all," his brother added.

"What are your names?" she asked.

Blue eyes smiled. "I am Xios."

"I'm Xavier," the other added.

So now she finally had the names to put to the eyes? Listening to the names given to them, that were definitely different and unique, much like the men themselves, she decided she liked the names instantly. "Mine's Netayah."

"A Nordic name," Xios mused aloud as he thoughtfully contemplated the name she'd given them, instantly recognizing the language that the name had originated from. "Highly usual that's not a language very common to the people on this side of the territories."

The same response that everyone had that heard the name, though there weren't too many people that were common to the language. It was the ancient language of the Nordician packs, those that were found further to the north, that went straight back to the old days.

"I like it," Xavier replied.

For the next twenty minutes the three of them fielded questions for each other, enabling them the opportunity to become better acquainted. Though throughout the entire process she noticed that none of them were too personal, more inclined about inquiring on her likes and dislikes. On some level suspecting the twins were purposely keeping the questions as impersonal as possible, as if not wanting to impose too much. Netayah was deeply grateful to the both of them for their consideration, she wasn't in the mind to be talking about her life before Blue Diamond. Too much anyways.

After close to an hour had gone by with the three of them talking amongst themselves, feasting on the food provided for the evening meal. Receiving the tenderness from the both of them, the brothers continuously complimenting her in some regard, often touching her face or hand. She holds out her hand to them, calling a halt to their behaviors. "Okay this is just too strange and I sincerely hope neither of you take offense to this, but I really have to know. Which one of you is my mate?"

Xios pursed his lips. "Don't you know, love?"

Xavier grinned wider, clearly enjoying whatever game the two of them thought to be playing on her tonight. "Sweetheart, can't you tell?"

Raking fingers through her hair as her gaze continued to switch between them, she frowned in frustration at the complication. "I'm really truly sorry, I understand how upsetting this can be for you, but honestly I can't tell. When we first met in the office I thought it was Xavier, that's why I reacted so badly, but now I get the same sense from Xios too. The both of you have the same identical smell, the same allure, connection, even your vibrations are identical, both of you effect me the same exact way. So no I cannot tell who my mate is."

Both grinned. "Are you sure?"

"Yes," Netayah gritted out between clenched teeth, really not fond of the game the twins were playing on her. "I can't discern which one of you it is, so please help me out here. Which one of you is it?"

"It's simple love," they spoke in unison. "It's both of us."

"Huh?," she gaped.

"We're both your mate," they added.

"What?" There is no way she'd just heard them right. Were the twin alphas seriously trying to convince her that not one or the other was her mate, but she'd in fact been destined for both of them. Frantically glancing between the two brothers presented before her, both looked her straight in the face, too serious to be playing around. It was clear from their firm expression on their face the both of them were being serious, assuring her she'd indeed heard them correctly. Mated to both?

Too confused to even allow herself to contemplate further on what she was being told by them, Netayah decided to allow the matter to drop altogether. She would come back to this mystery at a later time when she'd had some time to think about what was going on and try to get a real answer.
