Chapter 258: Let's...
"Maddy i-" Wesley panicked when he heard Madison call out to him. He honestly didn't want to hear what Madison wanted to say because he knew it was something negative. And it would definitely break his heart. He didn't want to imagine life without her. He could already foresee how bleak his life would be. He closed his eyes and opened them again, and all Madison could see was pain. This stabbed at the deepest past of her heart. Before he could continue further, Madison made a shushing sign, and Wesley immediately stopped talking to me.
"I have something to say. But promise me you'll wait until I'm done talking, without interrupting? " Madison asked. She knew Wesley like the back of her hand so she knew what he'd do.
"I promise." Wesley promised solemnly.
"I've been thinking for a while now, and I feel like it's about time..." Madison paused after stating this. This made Wesley tense up even more. He had a lot to say, but when he remembered the promise he'd just made a few minutes ago, he held himself back. He had to be patient. He didn't want to anger her.

"Wesley, let's get married." Madison said. This was a proposal she'd been thinking about ever since the fiasco that'd happened earlier that day. She didn't know what to expect, because she wasn't sure of the outcome. But she had to say what she was thinking. She'd died once and came back to life and now what she only wanted was to cherish her life and the people she loves. She wanted to spend the remaining years of her years with the people who valued her. And she wanted the rest of her life to be filled with the man standing before her. Wesley Grey. After saying that, everything seemed to have come to a stand still. No one said a word for God-knows-how-long. Madison couldn't help but smile in a self-deprecating manner. What was she thinking? Wesley had always been way above her league, wasn't that right? How dare she dream of marrying him? It was just her wishful thinking.

Just as Madison was about to turn around and walk away;
"Maddy?" Wesley called out. It seed as though he'd just come out of his trance.
"Hmm?" Madison hummed. She didn't even have the courage to look into his eyes.
"Look at me." Wesley said after he saw her subtle actions.
Madison did as she was told and when she finally looked into his eyes, she couldn't barely make out the myriad of emotions that were swirling in his ocean blue eyes. All she could make out was the surprise that shone in them.
"Did you mean what you just said, Maddy?" Wesley couldn't believe it. It was just too sudden especially after everything that'd happened earlier.
"Yes." Madison nodded. Why would she joke about such a serious matter?
"Baby..." Wesley called out and before Madison could react, she felt a weight on her body.
"What are you-"
