Chapter 256:Chris's fate
When the bodyguards saw what Wesley was holding in his hand, they did not need to be reminded of what to do. They immediately ran away and stood at a farther place. Wesley, who was left to stare at the masterpiece he had made by himself and felt that it was still mediocre. He looked at the explosives he was holding and, without batting an eye, threw them in the room where Chris was and immediately locked the door in a flash before walking away. He had to get back to Madison's side before she woke up. He had already estimated the mess that the explosives would make, and he was ready to pay for the renovation. He was a billionaire, a renowned billionaire at that. However, he underestimated the impact the explosives would have on the surrounding areas. The explosives made the ground shake, and the ears of the people in the neighborhood ring continuously. People were scared out of their wits when they heard that. Of course, they knew what that was, but they never expected such a thing to occur in their ever peaceful estate. They were the kind of people who never pried when such a thing happened. After all, the estate was for the wealthiest people around, and there would definitely be something shady about their businesses. They didn't need to pry to know.
The guards looked at Wesley as he walked away like they were looking at a monster. Especially when they saw how unfazed he looked after he'd exuded that psychopathic air about him when he was dealing with Chris. They held deep respect for him. Their boss had asked them to learn from Wesley, and now they understood why they were told to do so. They thought he was just a guy whom their boss had approved of because he was in love with his granddaughter. It turned out to be more than that? Wesley's only thought as he walked was to go and take a shower before Madison woke up. He looked like a bloody mess when he got out of the basement. He didn't want to scare her away, especially after what she'd been through that day.
The tremors shook the whole neighborhood, and the explosion sound also woke Madison up. She was so scared that she broke out in cold sweat. Just then, the memories of what happened during the day, Chris shooting her until she was a bloody mess. She was so shocked that she thought she was dead. She still couldn't believe she was awake, so she took that opportunity to pinch herself to confirm. When she did that and felt the pain, she became completely awake. Without thinking twice, she wore her slippers and headed downstairs at the fastest speed possible.
"Hey, slow down, you'll fall." Grandfather couldn't help but softly warn her.
"Grandpa, where's Wesley, and what happened to me?" Madison was freaking out. Especially when she saw that Wesley wasn't around. She just wanted to see him.
"He went to deal with some things. He'll be back la-"
"Maddy?" Just as grandfather was explaining to her, they heard someone exclaim from the front door. The two of them turned to look at the source of the voice, and Madison's face couldn't help but turn pale.
"You-"
