Chapter 249: Chris
Everyone turned to look at the door in unison when they heard the voice. When they saw the person, Madison couldn't help but frown. She didn't know who the person was, but when her eyes met with his, she saw a glint of viciousness flash past and dosappear in a flash. She shook her head to clear the thoughts. Maybe she was just overthinking? She turned to look at Wesley, who was beside her, and saw how furrowed his brows were. He was also worried about Madison. Then, as if seeking clarity, she turned to her grandfather, who had worry written all over his face. Madison suddenly felt her heart sink.
"What, am I not welcome here?" The guy who was still standing at the door asked sarcastically.
"You're welcome, Chris. " The man's voice brought everyone back to their senses, and Madison's grandfather ushered the man in. However, the relaxed atmosphere became tense.
"This is Chris, one of my business partners." Grandfather introduced.
He figured he needed to do that since his grandchildren were looking at him, confused as to what was happening.
"Nice to meet you all." Chris said and sat down from across everyone. Still, no one dared to relax even for a second. It was just too suffocating all of a sudden.
Madison felt uncomfortable, so she wanted to excuse herself to go upstairs.
"Hey, Madison." Just as Madison was about to speak, Chris called out. It was as if he had been waiting for that chance.
"Yes?" Madison said stiffly. She didn't understand why, but the stranger before her didn't give her a good feeling at all.
"How are your parents?" Chris shot out the question. He was smiling, but the smile was unusually sinister.
Madison's face turned pale. Her parents were the people she didn't want to talk about. Because the memories of them dying always brought back pain in her heart.
"Uhm, do you know them?" Madison couldn't help but ask. She didn't know what the man was up to, but one thing was evident; this man was up to no good.
"Of course, I do. So, how are they doing now?" Chris kept on probing. Wesley worriedly looked at Madison, who assured him that she would be fine. Wesley wasn't relieved, though. The aura he was emitting was very dangerous at that moment.
"They are no longer there." Madison forced herself to say these words. Only she knew how her heart broke when she said those words.
"Of course, right? Hahaha. " Chris broke into a maniacal laughter that sent chills down everyone's spine. It was a very ominous laughter
"Sorry?" Madison didn't understand why he was laughing so hard. It was a sad thing, so why would the guy laugh?
"I mean, you can go accompany them in hell if that's the case." Chris said and stopped laughing.
"What -"
Before Madison could speak, a gunshot rang out, and she was shot on the forehead. Lots of bullets rained on her. Madison died. She died from being shot. It was only after the bullets had been exhausted in the magazine that everyone came back to their senses. Wesley was the first to do so.
"No, Maddy, don't leave me." He went ahead and hugged her bloody corpse as he cried his eyes out.
