Chapter 53-The Luna's Point of View

I knew she'd come, just in time. I predicted she'd somewhat need my help. After all, she once saw me crying because of my painful relationship with Kairo. She must have thought that I was some fragile woman who couldn't take heartbreak. Doesn't she? Well, that's what I want everyone to see. A fragile, submissive, gentle, someone they can't move. They probably think that they'll always win when they get involved in a fight with me. Who wouldn't if you're in a dispute with a kind Luna, right? A mate who just lets her man do what he wants. Yes, that's me.

What can I even do? Stop him from doing bad deeds? Prevent him from getting his own woman, and then what? Embarrass me? I wouldn't do that. Not in this lifetime. I would never make myself a shameful creature—I would rather be the pitiful one. Because when people pity you, they will do everything to make you happy. To satisfy you. That’s what I am aiming for.

Raya asked me to come to her service. However, I wouldn't dare step out of this room just to help her, you know? Who knows what danger's waiting for me outside? I can't be swayed by her pitiful state right now. I suggested that she come to my secluded place.

This is my favorite area to talk to myself and contemplate about myself, and I knew she wanted to be here as well. Having to step on Luna's valuable property? Can you imagine what she'll feel? Of course, I understand the overwhelming sensation on her part. I understand everything; what more to people like her? I knew she'd only talk about her mate and my Alpha, so I must be prepared.

I already have a plan lined up on every single finger of mine, and all I have to do is execute it. And I'm going to need Raya for this. I heard footsteps approaching my room, so I had to act busy. I knew she was coming as I sensed her negative energy all throughout the pathway up to here. I'm glad she didn't think I would kill her.

After all, she's a mistress to me.. how can she trust me so easily? I looked behind and wandered through my garden. The roses here have wilted, but the thorn is surely sharp now. One needs to be dead on the inside for it to be more dangerous, isn't it? Maybe, that's what's happening to me. I heard Raya cough a little, initiating a chat. Her voice was raspy, and it was like she was suffering from a cold right now. Should I act like I care?

"Hello, miss," her voice was low, not catchy. She wanted to get my attention using that. If I were a different person, I would only laugh at her and continue doing what I am busy with. She's not worth the bothersome after all. Oh my gosh, she looked like a piece of shit. She looks so tired with her huge eye bags, messy hair that hasn’t been combed yet, a stinky-looking dress that hasn't been washed yet, and her entirety that calls for a bath wash. Why does she look like a beggar right now? Her trembling feet said it all.

She must have been thinking about how Kairo wouldn't like the idea of her coming to my service, so she's overthinking it all.

Minus the fact that she ran away from the mansion to my beautiful hiding place, I could never imagine the hardship she had to go through. Well, that is what you get for getting the Alpha's attention when you already have your own mate. Stealing one's property won't do you any good anyway.

It'll only stir a lot of trouble not only for you but for the people around you as well. I wonder why she hadn't thought about that before getting herself involved in this mess. Her toes were soaking wet. Her face was too damaged. She really needs to take care of herself. Maybe, she's suffering again. But why does she have to suffer all over again as if she was trapped in a loop? If I were to put myself in her shoes, I would simply kill myself to get out of my current situation.

I would rather be dead than suffer a cycle of never-ending cruelty. I wander around my place instead of staring at her endlessly. This would only cause confusion to her, especially now that she sees me as a kind-hearted Luna. Which I am not. Gosh, this is making me feel guilty. But I don't need to feel like that, do I? I chipped off the rises and left the leaves and thorns.

I guess I can save them later, anyway. Seeing Raya's deranged look, I knew I had to calm her a little. I could feel her nervousness here, and she needed confirmation. "Hey, don't stress yourself out," I said, dropping my scissors on the table. I made it appear like a gentle whisper of an angel. "This hut had been made a couple of years ago from now. Don't worry about a single thing," I muttered, which captured her attention. I knew how stressed she was, but I instantly saw the lighting up on her face as soon as I said those words.

"We may be inside the pack still, but you should know that Kairo granted me this place, and he probably forgot about it anyway. He doesn't care about me.. does he?" I asked and laughed a little. I was making it look like I was the most miserable person in the pack.

"Are you serious that it has already been four years since you and Kairo, met?" she asked, all shocked. Is it really that shocking? Almost everyone I told that tale has difficulty swallowing that fact. I mean, why? Did I look like someone who wouldn't stay with my Alpha just because he cheated on me not once, not twice, but multiple times? Heck, I am more than that. I can manage.

I can endure the pain as long as I don't lose the title I have right now. My title is what I've been protecting for all these years. I have tolerated every single bad deed of my mate so that I can stay with my position and my name's clear. I don't really care if he had a taste of all the girls in the pack. I can close my eyes for that as long as I am still his mate. She looked like she didn’t believe me.

She needed more persuasive words before she actually bought my phrases. What, she needs a flowery explanation that would feed her curiosity? She needed me to tell her what she wanted to hear rather than what I would say.

Besides, she has already asked me that question multiple times in a row. It makes my head go nuts, and my temper feels like it's traveling on a thin piece of wire. "Yes.," I answered and turned my gaze away from her. I couldn't look straight into her eyes, and I feared that she might find out what I wanted to do with her. What would happen if she finally read my moves? Although, it's impossible.

After all, she's nothing but a slow-witted woman who knows nothing about my world. She'd continue to manipulate herself into thinking she should be sad about my situation and do me a favor. She was easily swayed. I felt like I could tell her to die for me, and then she'd eventually abide by it. I was surprised to look at her sighing over me.

It was deep and heavy, and I couldn't get where the roots were. She sat on the chair as her voice trembled and her body shivered. She must have felt cold. Or maybe, my act was working on her now. She stared at me with those gloomy eyes. She blinked many times, meaning she was uneasy with me right now. I mean, what can we do? Go out and talk to each other so Kairo would find out about this matter. This betrayal.

"I'm so sorry if I'm asking so many questions and if I'm being annoying," she apologized for her behavior. Silly, she knew I'd been thinking how annoying she was right now. I couldn't believe she knew how exhausting it was to talk to her about things like this.

She must have picked up the idea and immediately thought she needed to stop talking to me about my annoying relationship with Kairo. I am glad she understood things more than what a normal person could comprehend. I just wish she wasn't lying about anything and was serious about it. I stopped my act of busyness and looked at her. Her face screamed the "what to do now?" face that I can't help but laugh at her. Of course, on the inside. Why would I let out a burst of laughter? Only to be caught by her? Certainly not.

I can't deny the fact that despite Raya's current state, she is undeniably gorgeous. That soft and silky messy hair really stood out for me, and her perfect nose was too unbelievable to me. How can one be so beautiful despite looking like an old used rag? How can she pull off the effortlessly beautiful look even after getting molested by life? God, I need to know her secret and claim it for myself. I have to be just like her. Otherwise, I don't know what that is.

No wonder Kairo picked an interest with her. With that face? Sexy small body? Tantalizing eyes? Flawless features? A man could never ever resist that unearthly goddess-like beauty! However, I knew that I was more daring than her. No one could resist and match this face, you know? "I'm also sorry that you got caught up in this situation," I said, brushing off my hair.

I wanted to appear like I was too consumed by stress for her, and I wouldn't say I liked any of this. Of course, who would like it? Uhmm. Maybe, I could try to act more persuasively now? Anytime now, I could be titled as the best actress of the year. Who wouldn't if you got gaslighted by me, right? Yeah, that's just me and my very manipulative side. What could go wrong? I stared at her with blank eyes. I don't want to talk about this anymore.

She crossed her legs while sitting gracefully. She's projecting intimidating vibes; I know she gets that from me. Is she mirroring me, huh? I also wonder why she pulled that on me, but I guess it's to match the atmosphere here. I looked into her eyes again, wondering what she wanted to do next. I ponder her words and what message she wanted to relay to me, and I guess my being this strict doesn't really help.

I looked at her neck and realized she was swallowing hard. No matter how much she tried to pull off this fierce look, she couldn't copy me as it would only look so copycat of her. "I just couldn't believe that it has already been years, and still, he just wouldn't accept you. Can you tell me the possible reason why?" she asked me the same question again.

Shit, here we go again. Her never-ending curiosity, the way I am obligated to answer all her queries as I accepted her offer anyway. No escape? Fuck it. What the hell am I going to do now? Should I answer? Or should I try moving the topic to another without making it appear like it was my one and only intention? I shrugged in response, not wanting her to think that I was still comfortable with this too much talking.

"To be honest with you, Raya. I also don't know why," I muttered and pulled off my best acting. I knew she had bought it, which was visible in her eyes. The conscience and guilt overflowed in her small heart as she dared to stare at my small teary, hazel brown eyes. "Maybe there's something in you that he doesn't personally like? Like one of your features, maybe your personality?" she said, giving me an ohh to my brain and huge amusement in my mouth. My jaw dropped to the floor the moment she said that.

Personality? He doesn't like me? What the hell is she talking about? When clearly, I am everything Kairo could have asked for. A pretty face, a nice gorgeous body, minus the fact that I am in the most stable shape every single woman's craving; what else is there to talk about? I am witty and the smartest Kairo could ever meet. The only problem he had was that his shitty behavior. If there is someone that should not be liked, that is Kairo, and I insist on that. Just look at me.

You can't deny the fact that every time I pass by a couple of people, they instantly lift their heads up and take a good look at my features. I am perfect. There are no flaws visible, nothing to be mentioned. How come she had the audacity to tell me that Kairo must have seen something else that made him unlike me? That is absurd! I have heard opinions like that, and this one was the worst. I can't.. swallow that fact! I could never eat that. My ego would never allow such a thing to be given on my plate. I hate her.

Had it not been for her flirty personality and pretty fucked up face, Kairo would never dare to look at her. Of all the girls he has mentioned and made up with, this girl really stands out the most. I have never felt this threatened in my whole entire life. I never seemed to care whether Kairo chose to have sex with some women. But her?! Why did I feel like I was inferior to her? Why did I feel this strange jealousy sensation when I knew I was more worth it?

What was it that caused me to be this broken? Despite all the thoughts I had in my brain, I still got my faces smile intact. Those that come from my heart, my broken heart. She needed to see me like that, didn't she? That is what she liked to see. Therefore, I am going to give it to her and satisfy her foolishness.

"It was really hard to believe, I know," I faked a smile. "Unless you've known him for such a long time, you'd eventually understand that that's how he is. And we couldn't force him to change," I said and defended Kairo. I have to make him clean to make myself clearer. I can't have her thinking that I lack something that caused Kairo to dislike me.

That won't happen, not on my watch. My name couldn't afford to have blots on it. I have grown a liking to this ability and would never dare to step down and acknowledge that I have flaws and am imperfect. "We can!" she quickly replied. Why does she have to be like this.. why does she have to take things seriously. I pouted and didn't answer. I don't want her to get the wrong idea of this situation.

For God's sake. Silence enveloped the whole hut while we just stared at each other. I faked a smile, and so did she. "I really admire how strong-willed you are, Raya," I started. I don’t really feel the need to compliment her, but if that would give her the benefit of the doubt, then so be it. At least she would believe me more.

"Maybe, that's one of the reasons why he decided to go after and pursue you," I said, pointing out her best trait. At least for me? I want her to know that her braveness was for my liking—something I also have. "I don't understand," she replied, confused. I laughed and shrugged everything off. I brushed my shoulders as I continued staring at her. We shared a peak of smiles and some small gazes that could make the atmosphere very light. She's indeed prettier when she's laughing. Why the hell am I complimenting her again? Last minute I'm mad and dead in love with her the next. What should I even do now?

"I'm not shocked with what is happening right now, actually. I've already expected this to happen, don't you worry. I've seen this coming already since the very start, and he has always been like this since he met me; he wasn't bothered at all and would continue dating every woman who is," I paused, hoping to give her the cliffhanger of the story. Of course, she can't easily have what she wants. I saw Raya's head crease as she stared at me. She's confused again, and now her face plays a huge role in portraying her feeling. It was so sudden yet so mesmerizing. She really has her way of surprising me, but she's predictable at the same time. " Who is all Cassius's lover," I spoke, which made her face flustered. She's all red. I can see the betrayal on her face; she must have felt devastated. I want her to know that she's not the only one. That she's not unique nor the only person to have gotten the attention of the Alpha.

I want her to humble herself and make sure she's not overreacting. She at least has to know that she's not the prettiest, to begin with. "What?" she shouted, full of confusion. I can see how she wanted to puke her eyes out right now. I can finally see her shocked face. I knew she couldn't believe what I said, and she's really easy to gaslight.

What's more, would she believe me if I told her that Cassius died on the spot? Hmmm.. her being this slow-witted really makes me love this scene. "I could've sworn and told you that there's nothing to worry about because, in the past, all of the women he took away from Cassius weren't that interested. And eventually, he also got bored and let them go. I was just about to tell you that he might let you go but considering that it has already gone on for this long. It looks like he was also so ready to risk everything for you. It just hits differently, Probably because you were Cassius's mate, " I said again, making her suffer on the inside. Did I hit a very special spot?

Raya went silent and put her tongue on the farthest part of her mouth. She was so behaved, and I could sense her hearing becoming more and more vivid. She's so focused right now. "You sure are in big trouble, Raya, but don't worry. I got your back. We will get through this," I finished my sentence by assuring her I could help.
