Chapter 134 The War of the Heavens

Chapter 134 The War of the Heavens
The Sovereign Armada did not broadcast their demand for surrender. They didn't send a herald. Cosmic predators from an empire descend upon a target they want to eat without entering negotiations.

They began their shooting.

The enormous geometric dark-matter warships positioned above Earth launched their annihilation attack. The atmosphere became filled with millions of concentrated sickly grey slipspace beams that entered the air at the same moment. Anti-matter tears appeared to fall from the sky.

Alpha Thorne shouted "Shields!" as he moved toward the concrete base while alien weapon systems emitted a loud apocalyptic hum.

Kade remained stationary without displaying any signs of movement.

He stepped in front of me while he raised his right arm which made the Star-Metal gauntlet shine with its perfect Celestial iron.

Kade spoke with a soft voice which spread across space like the sound of an entire galaxy.

He did not create a close gravity area. He took control of all basic physics that govern the Earth's atmosphere.

The dark-matter beams reached Aurora Citadel yet stayed intact without causing explosions. The Kade's celestial gravity created a space distortion which made all alien bombardment miss our city and land in the ocean and the remote ash-wastes.

The Citadel existed within an invisible shield that created impenetrable boundaries through reality distortion.

Kade told me to "Hold the ground, Elara" while he faced me. The nebulas that filled his eyes burned with a cosmic fire which protected everything. His chest glass contained a galaxy which pulsed to his heartbeat. "I will clear the sky."

Kade vanished before I could say anything. The man didn't teleport like I did. He entirely came out of gravity to move upward at breakneck speed which made him cross the sound barrier while he left deep indigo and white-gold starlight behind him.

The Lunar Anomaly

I stood at the harbor docks watching my mate ascend into the iron-choked heavens.

I didn't have time to marvel at his godhood. The dreadnoughts in orbit realized their bombardment couldn't penetrate Kade's shielding, so they changed tactics. The Pacific Ocean and the ash-wastes became darker as warships released millions of metallic drop pods into the air.

The Aethelgard infantry came to battle as the vanguard advanced. Millions of towering, magic-consuming shock-troops plummeting toward the earth.

I roared "To the walls!" while my golden eyes shone ferociously. My body burned with silver astral starlight which ignited across the fractals that marked my skin. "Show them why the wolves rule the dirt!"

I dissolved into a beam of silver light, teleporting from the harbor directly to the high eastern parapet of the Citadel.

The unified packs were being led by Thorne, Valda, and Cipher who had already arrived there. The ash-wastes below us turned into a flowing sea which contained fur and Star-Metal blades and the raw power of Earth Mutants.

The sky erupted into a loud shrieking noise.

I looked up, expecting to see more drop pods. I discovered a gravitational impossibility instead.

Kade hovered in the thermosphere, staying right under the alien dreadnoughts main group that roamed the skies. The man had his arms wide open while his hands released a bright shining celestial indigo light.

He did not pull on the ships. He reached toward everything that existed on the other side.

Valda pointed her sword at the night sky while she softly whispered "By the Goddess."

The moon was moving.

Kade used the Celestial Core's infinite raw power to seize the Earth's moon's gravitational tether. He violently pulled the lunar orbit closer.

The tidal and gravitational forces changed their strength without any delay.

The Sovereign Armada faced total surprise when their low-orbit system failed to function because their slipspace methods backfired. The entire lunar gravity surge smashed through their fleet with a force of a cosmic scythe.

The two colossal dreadnoughts crashed into each other while their dark-matter hulls broke apart from the force causedby two planetary bodies that battled for supremacy. The upper atmosphere witnessed a major destruction of alien warships which caused their sickly grey plasma engines to create gigantic silent supernovae.

Kade used the moon to crush an infinite armada by making it his anvil.

The Million-Man Drop

Kade destroyed the orbiting fleet while millions of drop pods crashed from the sky.

The ash-wastes outside Aurora Citadel instantly transformed into a meat grinder.

The Aethelgard shock-troops rushed out of the pods which opened with a hissing sound. There were too many. The dark-matter armor materialized like a horde of locusts that advanced on our packs with their halberds hungry to consume Lycanthropic magic.

Thorne ordered everyone to "Fire!"

The alien assault faced multiple obstacles because the Citadel walls burst open to release thousands of Null-Wolves who fired heavy artillery at the aliens. The Ferals fought without mercy to acquire slipspace technology at the mud level.

The Aethelgard halberd sent a giant brown wolf flying backward as he transformed back into human form when his magic was extracted from him.

Valda yelled "They're overwhelming the vanguard!" while she drove her Star-Metal sword through the visor of an alien warrior scaling the wall. "There are simply too many of them!"

I stood on the edge of the parapet. I looked at the millions of alien soldiers swarming my home. I looked at the wolves dying in the ash.

I am not a Luna anymore I realized while I shut my eyes. I have become the universe.

I did not need to take out my hunting knife. I released all things from my grasp. I transferred my physical connection to the earth by diving into the infinite space that existed beyond the stellar domain.

The Cosmic Storm

The silver fractals on my skin shone with a bright white light.

I did not teleport to a single location. I used astral magic to surpass every existing boundary of human ability. I destroyed my physical body by using powers that made me into a massive storm of cosmic energy.

CRACKLE.

Valda and Thorne watched me disappear when I made my exit in a burst of silver energy.

The Aethelgard army received my presence as their punishment from the celestial powers.

The ash-wastes were struck by millions of focused beams which contained untainted starlight. I teleported at a rate of thousands every second which enabled me to occupy all places simultaneously.

The alien warrior raised his halberd to execute a fallen wolf—ZAP—a silver beam severed his arm, which caused his dark-matter core to become overloaded.

A platoon of fifty Aethelgard charged the Citadel gates—ZAP, ZAP, ZAP—their armor transformed into smoking slag after an astral lightning web passed through them.

I had stopped participating in ground combat. I had transformed into a natural disaster. My light caused the wasteland's freezing ash-choked air to become superheated. The alien biology of their bodies which contained slipspace shields was burned through by astral lightning while their power cores exploded from internal destruction.

The battlefield was lit up by a silver execution strobe light which operated continuously.

The ground war turned instantly when the unified packs advanced with a loud howl, which ripped through the remaining unarmored aliens after they had blinded and decimated the Aethelgard ranks.

The Sovereign

I forced myself to reform, materializing back on the Citadel parapet.

I fell to my knees when my boots made contact with the Star-Metal surface. The process of becoming a cosmic storm caused me extreme physical pain. My lungs burned and my vision began to fade while blood streamed out from my nose. The silver light left my body so I became a regular human being.

Valda cried Luna when she dropped down to help me, she picked me up from the ground by my shoulders.

I told him I felt fine while I spoke through my blood which I had just spilled. Did we succeed in breaking their defenses?

I looked up.

Kade had ended the moon's release, which made its orbit complete before it triggered destructive tidal waves. The sky above became a graveyard. The thermosphere contained thousands of destroyed alien dreadnoughts which floated in space while their wrecked body parts burned.

The dark matter and silver ash from the waste area had consumed all of the shock troops, who had transformed into smoking remnants. The unified packs were howling in victory.

We had successfully defeated the endless space fleet.

The battle continued without any conclusion.

A shadow fell over the Citadel, which created a temperature drop and total darkness that exceeded what the Aethelgard had shown until that point.

A single ship positioned itself directly above the Prime Spire, while it remained physically unaffected by Kade's lunar shift. The ship was not a massive dreadnought. The ship had a design that made it appear like a jagged spearhead which had been made from an abyssal black metal that absorbed all light.

The spearhead ship opened a door which allowed a figure to descend toward the Spire's grand balcony.

He did not wear bulky armor. He wore streamlined armor which covered his entire body with its dark material. He did not carry a weapon. Unlike his soldiers, he did not cover his head with a helmet.

His skin color appeared as pale gray which emitted a light. His eyes matched the Void King's dark voids which swirled in a pitch-black color.

The air around him produced a sound that neither hummed nor screamed.

"Kade!" I yelled because terror filled my voice.

Kade descended from the thermosphere, landing heavily on the balcony of the Spire, stepping between the alien entity and the Vault where our son was hidden. A bright fire burned from the cosmic glass which appeared on Kade's chest.

Earth-King you have made my battle fleet unusable which the alien envoy declared. His telepathic voice entered our minds, which created a psychic wave that disrupted every creature on the planet, making wolves in the wasteland whimper and collapse.

"I am the Sovereign," the entity declared, his feet gently touching the stone of the balcony. "I will remove the Celestial Core from your body after you die because your world refuses to give it to me.
