Chapter 133 The Master Key
Chapter 133 The Master Key
A glowing sphere of energy which was the size of a fist floated above the metal dais that was blooming with flowers. The object created such high density that all nearby space showed visual distortion because it pulled light through its gravitational field.
Kade whispered to the Celestial Core whose light he watched, "The World Engine was just the padlock. This... this is the master key. This is the fundamental design of the entire universe."
I approached Kade and told him to wait because the silver starlight from my body still pulsed through my veins. "The hologram said the World Engine host was compromised because of your biology. If you absorb the pure essence of the Celestials, what will it do to your humanity? What will it do to your wolf?Your humanity will transform into a hybrid form which can turn into a Celestial essential character.
Kade looked at me. His ocean-blue eyes showed two opposite emotions; one was deep, amazing wonder, and the other was heavy, unbearable duty.
Kade spoke to Elara while he extended his human hand to touch her cheek "My humanity is what makes the Engine work, Elara." "A machine would look at the infinite cosmos and see only numbers. I look at it, and I see a world I have to protect for you. For Leo."
He directed his face toward the dais.
Kade declared "I am the King of the Earth" in a voice that turned to deep, absolute sounds which traveled through the ziggurat's shining metal structure. "But the Earth is no longer enough."
Kade raised both of his hands. He didn't just touch the Celestial Core; he plunged his pristine Star-Metal gauntlet and his bare human hand directly into the swirling, infinite sphere.
The cavern fell into total silence.
A shockwave of absolute, blinding indigo light erupted from the dais, violently knocking Valda and me backward. I shielded my eyes from the cosmic radiation by throwing my arms up, while a sound that resembled a dying star roaring into a supernova filled the chamber.
Through the blinding light, I saw Kade’s silhouette arching backward, suspended in mid-air.
The thick, heavy Star-Metal plate fused to his chest was melting.
The Firstborn pure iron underwent a process of refinement which transformed it into new forms. The grey and white-gold metal turned entirely translucent, transforming into a seamless pane of indestructible, cosmic glass. The World Engine no longer appeared as a machine core. It appeared to exhibit the properties of a living being which contained a galaxy that swirled inside his chest.
The silvery, liquid veins running up his neck didn't just glow—they shifted into sprawling, perfect constellations of starlight that mapped across his skin.
The light diminished with a final explosion which rattled the Mariana Plate to its total base.
Kade dropped to his boots.
He stood in perfect body control without any movement or air consumption. He stood perfectly, impossibly still.
He slowly turned his head to look at me. His ocean-blue eyes were gone. In their place were two infinite, swirling nebulas of gold, violet, and deep indigo.
He transcended his identity as Alpha Prime and Earth Architect to become something greater.
He attained the power of a deity.
The Galaxy-Spanning Alarm
"Kade? I breathed as I pushed myself off the floor to stand. My feral gold eyes wide with awe.
Kade told us "I can hear them"
The Engine's heavy grinding mechanical sound had vanished from his voice. His voice now emitted smooth sound which echoed throughout the area as if multiple stars were using his vocal cords to speak all at once.
Valda asked "What sounds do you hear?" as she moved to my location while grasping her trembling Star-Metal sword.
Kade said "I can hear everything as he stared at the ziggurat's starry ceiling. "I can feel the orbit of the moon. I can feel the magnetic field of Jupiter. And I can feel... the shadow."
The laboratory of the Celestials switched from its original pristine indigo light to an intensely bright crimson strobe light.
The security system from the inner structure was not responsible for this.
The projector which hung above the dais erupted with violent activity again as it started to show a complete three-dimensional depiction of the entire solar system instead of displaying the Celestial beings.
The map's outer limits showed a huge sea of red markers which suddenly emerged with violent force a few meters beyond Pluto's orbital path.
The automated voice declared "A Class-Omega threat has been detected at the border of the local system." "Celestial Core integration complete. "Dimensional beacon activated.
I watched the hologram which made my blood turn to ice. There were thousands of red markers instead of just a few. The markers moved at incredible speeds which allowed them to reach Earth in a matter of seconds from their starting point at the system's outer perimeter.
Kade declared "The dreadnought we fought" as his eyes showed a new expression of complete cold anger. "It wasn't an invasion force, Elara. It was a hunting dog. The first scout sent to investigate the security system with controlled access points.
I realized with horror that "The leash snapped when the dreadnought exploded. "The owner knows exactly where we are.
Kade’s cosmic voice declared "The Aethelgard operate as an empire which possesses military forces. "They are the Sovereign Armada. "They will come here to take control of the Core.
"We must return to the surface immediately" I ordered.
The Upward Bullet
We did not run toward the submarine.
Kade raised his hand.
The ziggurat's heavy gates closed behind us after we passed through. We entered the Nautilus airlock where Finn was at the helm and experiencing hyperventilation.
Finn began to speak with the word "Prime."
Kade interrupted Finn to tell him to hold the console.
Kade did not take time to wait for ballast tanks to blow. He avoided using submarine engines. He created a total celestial gravity shield which protected the entire Nautilus from any form of intrusion.
The cosmic gun fired its shot which sent Kade into space to pin everyone down with its force. The boiling thermal vents and crushing pressure zones were bypassed by us within moments of our arrival.
Our submarine reached the Pacific Ocean surface with sufficient force to launch it high into the air which ended with a crash onto the Aurora Citadel harbor's concrete.
I opened the top hatch and climbed out while the freezing wind from the night sky forced my hair to cover my face.
The city celebrations ended completely without any continuation.
The bonfires burned on while the pack members in the streets remained absolutely silent. The entire werewolf and Earth Mutant and Fae population was looking up.
The Star-Beasts and Orion were making a dreadful wail which filled the high spires with absolute despair.
I gazed upward to observe the night sky.
The sky showed no stars.
The Sovereign Armada
The sky remained clear because no clouds or ash had blocked it. Iron had caused the sky to become completely dark.
A fleet of thousands of gigantic warships made from dark matter hung in low Earth orbit. Each warship filled the atmosphere with their geometric shape while matching the size of the destroyed dreadnought.
The enormous number of objects created enough gravity which made the ocean tides move away from their regular pattern. The harbor water was violently moving while it spilled over the sea walls.
Alpha Thorne and Cipher ran down the dock towards the Nautilus. Cipher held his datapad against his body while his face turned pale.
Thorne yelled Prime! Luna! with all his strength but he could not control his fear. They just translated out of a massive slipspace rupture! The global sensors are blinding! We have enemies surrounding us!
Kade stepped out from the submarine hatch to start his exit.
Kade stepped onto the dock which created an ambient light that illuminated the entire harbor. Thorne and Cipher stopped dead in their tracks, their jaws dropping as they stared at the cosmic glass fused to his chest and the nebulas swirling in his eyes.
Cipher made a breathy sound when he said "What... what are you?"
Kade declared himself to be the architect who would bring about their destruction with terrifying divine authority.
Kade passed all of them before reaching the harbor boundary where he stared upward at the sky which was filled with death.
I stepped up beside him. My muscles hurt because I had used all my magic power and my tactical gear had been destroyed. The alien empire weight which my mate carried made my inner feral Luna snarl in defiance.
The cosmic light of silver starlight began to respond to my call when I reached out.
The Earth is their target I said while my voice reached beyond the ocean waves which crashed and roared.
Kade took my hand which he gripped tightly. Our dual godhood cast lights of deep violet and gold and silver which created a bright beacon that shone into the dark sky.
Kade ordered them to "come down into the dirt" while his cosmic eyes stayed locked on the flagship of the armada. "And we will bury them."
