Chapter 26
Chapter 26
"I don't know what happened between you, but it's not good for a son and a mother to break up. Don't you want to fix things?" Lisa asked.
"It's too complicated to tell; my mom doesn't think I exist anymore."
"Who said that? When your mother came to the Pack and met me, she told me to be a good wife to you. She still cares and loves you," Lisa explained.
Lucanne didn't respond; Lisa hugged her from the side while stroking her husband's chest. Since the beginning of our marriage, problems have come and gone, and there hasn't even been a significant war. What would happen if it did? Would Lucanne and Lisa go their separate ways?
"Mark has sabotaged everything; Moreno told me he was furious when his friends died because your clan killed them. Did you have your warriors attack them?" Lisa asked.
"I never did, and I couldn't have done that because the rules between clans are not to attack each other. Is it possible that there are activities that I don't know about? All this time, it was Mark who took care of all this," said Lucanne.
"He's a traitor, and you have to pay him back. How long can you be slandered like this? You are innocent, and your clan will still think badly of you if you don't correct this misunderstanding," Lisa said.
Lucanne understood. "There comes a time when I will pay Mark back. You can rest assured that I'm not that stupid!"
In the morning, Lisa brought raw chicken to her husband. He was already wearing his work uniform, and this afternoon, they would also buy a car so Lucanne wouldn't have to take the bus.
"Lisa, don't go anywhere! Don't go to the forest to meet them!" Lucanne said.
"Yes, I'll stay home and wait for my husband to come home from work. Is everything ready? I'll walk you to the bus stop," said Lisa.
Lucanne stroked Lisa's belly. "I'm sorry, you were supposed to have our son in your belly, but I killed him instead."
"It's not your fault, and we can make it again," Lisa said.
Lucanne kissed Lisa's forehead, and they left the apartment together and met an unknown man. Lucanne could see that the man was a vampire; Lucanne's hand grasped Lisa's hand tightly as if to signal that Lisa was his.
Arriving at the bus stop, Lucanne felt anxious because there were vampires in this apartment building, and the vampires wanted Lisa's scent.
Lucanne bit his hand until it bled; he wiped the blood on Lisa's neck.
"Why?" asked Lisa.
"Protection for you from vampires. Your scent is powerful, and vampires like that. You have to be careful," Lucanne said.
Lisa nodded. "I'll be careful."
Lucanne got into the bus, his eyes still looking at Lisa outside. Lisa smiled, and Lucanne, the cold man, waved back at his wife.
"Are you newlyweds?" asked the grandmother next to Lucanne.
"Yes."
"Your wife seems to love you very much."
"That's right, I love her very much too."
The grandmother looked at Lucanne's face, and she smiled. "It turns out you're a werewolf."
"You too? How old are you? Why don't you regenerate?" asked Lucanne.
"I decided to leave my clan and marry a human. I purposely didn't regenerate because my husband passed away, and I wanted to catch up with him. Werewolves can live a long time while humans live a concise life," said Grandmother.
Lucanne just realized he was already hundreds of years old while Lisa, a human, couldn't live more than 100 years.
"Haha... you shouldn't worry about what I say. People who have died can live again even if they become someone else, and they certainly don't know us. I've met my husband's reincarnation and found out he's already married to someone else. How tragic is that?" she asked.
"But why did you choose to die? Werewolves can't reincarnate."
"I'm tired of living; seeing our past spouse happy with someone else is enough. Don't worry! I'm sure your wife will live a long life," said Grandmother.
In the afternoon, Lucanne came home from work and saw his wife cooking in the kitchen. Lisa turned around, surprised that she hadn't picked up her husband.
"Sorry, I was so busy cooking that I forgot to pick you up," Lisa said.
"Yes, it's okay. What are you making?" asked Lucanne.
"I'm making a cake. Do you want to try it?"
Lucanne tried it; it didn't taste good, but he still said his wife's cooking was good.
"It's perfect."
"You're not lying? You have to tell the truth! The cake I'm making isn't good, and I can't make it. You're getting funny, baby."
"Lisa, please don't leave me!"
Lisa wrinkled her forehead. "I won't, I promise."
Lucanne hugged her tightly; Lisa thought something must have happened for her husband to behave like this. They then showered together using warm water. Lucanne became a sweet and romantic man, even now hugging Lisa from behind in the bathtub.
"What's wrong?" asked Lisa.
"I don't want to lose you," Lucanne replied.
"Who would want to leave you?"
"The human lifespan is less than 100 years, while a werewolf can be thousands of years; I'm afraid you'll leave me because of age," said Lucanne.
"You're right; if I die, you can find another mate."
"No way! I'll be alone with our children until I die."
"That's very romantic, but sometimes a man's words are lies. Now you can say that, but someday you will change your mind," said Lisa.
On the other hand, Mark and Elle met frequently. They had sexual intercourse many times, and Elle would also become Luna in the clan.
The other werewolves feel Mark is intimidating them with all the rules. They intended to take Lucanne home without Mark's permission.
"Sean, do you know where Lucanne is?"
"Of course. We can go there and persuade Alpha to come home, but first, we have to get rid of Mark and the vampire girl," said Sean.
They then planned to get rid of Mark and bring back Lucanen to become the strongest Alpha in this clan.
