CHAPTER 22

She felt as though she could finally breathe properly again after she noticed her getting into her quarters. She pressed her body against the way that she was feeling then as she felt a sigh come out of her lips. She felt her body tremble at the very thought .

She made her way towards the bed that was laid out for her, and she couldn't help but smile. It was nice to have a change from having to sleep on the tiny cell floor that she was used to, and although she had no idea how long this would last, she would simply have to enjoy the moment.

She grinned as she made her way further into the room And lay down on her bed. It was time for her to fall asleep, and she only hoped that her thoughts would be filled with vivid dreams and not the nightmares that usually would torment her.

…

She heard her father hiss. She felt her body tremble as she pulled her eyes closed. It sounded like it was her dad that was there, and she widened her eyes at the sight of him and shuddered at the sight of him.

She had no idea how to draw. With him, and he knew just how unpredictable that was. "You killed her". He roared. She whimpered as she shuffled back against her bed. Her small six year old body was still weak after she hadn't had a chance to have a decent meal in a long while.

"What do you mean, daddy? she asked him in a whimper, and she watched as he let out a loud growl from her lips.  "You killed her, you ruined her, and now she is found, and you have managed to ruin me as well."  He said to her with a tremble under his breath.

"I didn't, daddy." She said to him in a whimper. She wasn't pulled out of her thoughts when she felt him reach out and slap her hard across the face. He felt her eyes water as she reached out and took a hold of her swollen cheek. She couldn't believe that he would have done that to her.

You listen to me there, little girl. I want nothing to do with you. You are a pest that has been forced on me." He said to her. She winced at his harsh words, and she couldn't understand why her own father would say such things to her. She shook her head at him in response as she struggled.

She felt something small inside of her as an energy rushed through her. She watched as he cried out in pain as he stumbled backward. She looked to end towards the ground, causing her eyes to widen as she noticed mud on the floors.

He pulled  towards her with shock in his eyes as he scurried back away from the sight of her. "I can't. I can't believe that . What did you do? What is wrong with you? What was that'', he asked her breathlessly. She cooed as she shook her head.

She didn't know how that had happened, but she had held out hope that he would be able to help her and that he might have helped make it stop. She wanted to reach out towards him, but she watched as he looked over at her with sheer horror in his eyes before he took steps back away from her.

"You are really a monster. A cursed child. You are nothing to me, and I don't want anything to do with you." He said to her in a venomous tone. She felt tears stain her cheeks as he grabbed her by the arms. And although she struggled against his hold, he refused to let go of her. She was praying for him not to be here, and he seemed to not want to give up until he had made sure that she had paid.

He pulled her out of the room, and he led her down the stairs. Her heart lurched when she realized where it was that they were heading. The place was all too familiar for her. It was one that he had taken her on multiple occasions, and she dreaded having to go again.

"Please don't." She said to him in a pleading tone, but he wasn't listening. He was so excited to see her again, and she knew that he wouldn't listen to any more of her bleakness.

She was scared, to say the least. One of her biggest fears was that of the dark, and she didn't want to have to be throttled into Yet another dark and cold room. She tried to pull away from him, but his grip wouldn't loosen. She didn't want to think about what that would mean for her.

She let out a sigh as she felt herself begin to hyperventilate as her emotions took over. She needed to get herself together. As he threw her body into the cell. He looked at her coldly as he stared. "You are a shame to not only the pack but to me as well. I do not want anything to do with you. And I will be damned if I continue to stay anywhere near you. That thing you have inside you is a curse, and no one will want you with it."

…

He said it to her in a venomous tone. She felt her heart lurch as his words went through her. She felt as though a knife had been pierced through her chest, with each word seeming more painful than the last. She felt as though she would be sick. She had been a fool to think that all this would work.

She had always thought that using her abilities as a child was a dream that wouldn't come true because she had not been able to use them again after that, but now as she went over it, she couldn't help but realize just how real the experience felt.
