When we arrive at Midnight Moon we are surprised to see the pack members waiting. A horde of wolves lets out a loud roar of joy when the car comes to a standstill.

She slides her shoulder strap back, throws her head aside and proudly displays the mark I placed on her neck a few hours ago. This woman makes me so happy, I don't think there is an Alpha who has gone through a mating like mine. I quickly grab her waist and press her against me. We'll sit down anyway, Mercedes in her usual Luna seat. I'll keep an eye on her as the servant sets out our food in front of us. And just as I imagined, I see her face go red. I quickly grab the Lasagna and slide it onto a plate to hold out to her. I motion for a servant to quickly bring a glass of water. Luckily that helped, Lasagna seems to be her only solid food that doesn't cause any problems. So from today until further notice, the cooks will serve Lasagna in the packhouse. Who wants something else has to arrange that themselves in their private kitchen or a cafe somewhere in the pack.
When I'm sure she's okay again, I look up. Everyone at the table is staring at her, it's dawning on the Elders what's going on. Their face speaks volumes. I send them a warning look. We start the meal, the Elders can't help but make all kinds of ambiguous remarks. Some are counting on their fingers, back from her birthday yesterday, taunting that cookies disappeared from the jar before the party went on.
Fortunately, Mercedes doesn't understand it all, her attention is completely focused on her Lasagna. After the meal in the light-hearted atmosphere, I notice that Mercedes is getting sleepy.
