Chapter 85 The trip

Chapter 85 The trip
Liam's POV

I tried to look at Elena who was fast asleep on her seat.

She looked so peaceful, I didn't even want to disturb her.

I continued working, looking at the pics. I didn't understand what Lady Grey was planning and it was beginning to irritate me.

Why kill all those half-bloods and then kidnap Ashley only just to let her go immediately.

What was her game plan?

Did she need her for something or was she just trying to scare us.

If she was trying to piss us off, then it worked. Felix said as he huffed and circled around in my mind.

Nothing is adding up and it's really starting to annoy me, how are we supposed to protect Elena if I can't even figure out what that stupid witch is after.

We cannot lose them Liam, not now or ever.

I know.

I looked at Elena again.

She looked too at peace in her sleep unlike when she would we be awake. I could the look on her face when she thought I wasn't looking. She was scared but it wasn't for herself, it was for everyone else.

I knew she was blaming herself, I knew that feeling, I had been too familiar with it after my parents died.

I was lost in my thoughts as the plane shook and Elena moved in her seat.

I was by her side immediately, holding her head as I rested her properly on her seat again.

What was that? I asked as I linked with the pilot.

Sorry Alpha, just some strong wind, we are all good now.

I looked back at Elena surprised she didn't wake up.

She had been sleeping a lot more these days.

I know she didn't want to leave the others and honestly I didn't want to either but I needed to some answers and I knew I wouldn't get them there.

I moved my work closer to her and I continued.

“Why didn't you wake me up at all?” She frowned at me as we got down from the plane.

“I wanted you to rest,” I said as I pulled her cheeks. Why was she always so cute when she tried to be angry.

We got into the car waiting for us and drove to the house.

“So you own this too?” Elena asked as she looked surprised.

“I do, my parents invested in real estate and had a lot of land all over the continent. I just decided to make use of some.” I said as I grabbed her hand. “Let me show you around the house.”

She looked at me. “Did you just call this a house?”

I nodded.

“It looks more like a mansion,” she looked around amazed and that made me smile.

“Good evening Alpha,” the house help said as she grabbed the boxes.

“Good evening,” I said.

“Oh no, you can't carry all of the boxes, here, let me help,” Elena said as she grabbed her box.

The house help looked at me and I nodded.

I knew Elena liked to do things by herself and I wasn't going to stop her. I doubt she would even listen if I tried.

“Wow,” she said as we walked in. “I really just can't get enough of this place.”

I laughed and she smiled brightly at me.

We walked upstairs to the rooms.

“This is our room,” I said as she rushed past me.

“Yes,” she said as she fell on the bed. “It's so soft, why isn't the bed back at home this soft.”

I laughed again. “We could always change the one at home too if you want.”

“Okay,” she said with her eyes closed.

I looked back to see the house help looking at us with a smile on her.

I forgot that she had barely seen me smile during my time.

“I will take those,” I said as I took the box and some bags from her.

“I will let you know if we need anything,” I said.

“Okay, Alpha.”

I moved our stuffs into the dressing room and went back to meet Elena.

“Don't tell me you are sleeping already?” I said as laid on the bed and pulled her closer to me.

“No, I'm not, but I was about to,” she popped one of her eyes open.

“So do you still want to stay at the pack house now,” I teased her.

“No,” she giggled.

“So I was thinking about after dinner we could have a little movie night in the living room, I can't let that big screen go to waste with my time here,” she looked so excited.

But I had to do something this evening. “As much as I would love to do that, I have something to deal with, so I will have to leave.”

Her excitement faded. “But where? I thought we could at least have together then you could worry about anything else tomorrow.”

“I know and I'm sorry but I won't be long okay, I will be back before you know it.”

“Okay,” she said but I know she wasn't happy at all.

“I will make it up to you,” I kissed her forehead.

“You better.”

“There's my fiesty mate.”

An hour later I was out of the house and in my car.

I need ten of you to stay at the house and the other two should with me. I said as I linked my men.

And stay out of sight, don't let the Luna see you.

Understood Alpha.

What I was doing was risky, roaming around at night in a city filled with different supernaturals especially vampires.

If they knew I was here, well let's just say that it wouldn't be nice.

I got out of my car. I was on the road but it was really quiet. I could sense my men with me but there was something else.

But it didn't matter, I needed to be here.

Keep your eyes out for anything strange. I said though the link but no one answered.

Then something moved by the corner of my eye.

“Who's there,” I asked as I listened closer.

“Got a death wish,” a voice said behind me and I turned but it was already gone.

Before I could react something caught my leg and I fell hard to the ground.

I opened my eyes immediately and saw red blooded eyes looking down at me with smirk.

“Hello Liam.”
