Facing The Elders 2
(Author’s Point of View.)
“May your love blossom for eternity, Your Majesties. May evil eyes never see you.” Luna Denvi spoke standing up with a glass in her hand, and the hall soon went into a chaos of applauds for their sovereigns. But of course, not everyone was happy, since quite a number of the gathering has nothing but ill intentions towards the couple.
“Well said, king Reagan!” A voice of a male echoed as he stepped majestically into the hall as though he owns it, and the masses instantly quietens down.
Amelia, who suddenly felt a powerful aura radiating from whoever it is that had just come in lifted her gaze to see a very dashing man that looks like he would be in his early forty’s, striding towards the other end of the very lengthy table and composedly took his seat.
Reagan on the other hand, did not care, nor did he acknowledge the presence of the fellow that had just walked in. to him, he wished he didn’t have to see any of their faces right now, and just spend the day with his little mate along with his people that had come to celebrate with them before it is time for their ceremony to begin. However, thinking of how these schemers will soon get what’s coming for them, his not so thin nor plump lips curled into a dubious smile.
Amelia chewed on her lower lip seeming in thoughts. For a certain, she has felt this presence before. “But where?” she wonders.
Reagan’s eyebrows creased. “Did I get that right?” he asked in alert.
“I am not sure!” Amelia was having mixed feelings she could not discern towards this certain someone. “I might be wrong.” Amelia quickly added feeling the tension that was beginning to swell inside the big bad wolf beside her.
Reagan’s eyebrows narrowed. “How could his little mate have met that skulker?” From what he could recall in her memories, there was not even a glimpse of the Elder in it. Reagan couldn’t just let this matter slide; knowing that, the only way his foes could get to him is through his innocent little mate. Therefore, every little inkling regarding his antagonist couldn’t be brushed off.
Amelia took a side glance at the man that has caught her interest for whatever reasons. “Who is he?” She inquired, her curiosity getting the better of her.
“The Supreme Elder of the Tseflatens council.” Reagan said with venom. For example, they are the ones who gets to decide if a king is worthy or not,” he explained indifferently.
“I see. Does that make him even more superior than you are?” Amelia asked obscurely.
Reagan scuffed. “You could call it that. To me, his superiority is only in the eyes of the law,” he said then cupped her cheeks and crashed his lips against hers. “Enough questions about him. You should really get some rest love; I could have Charles bring you to our bedro-“
“NO!” Amelia said cutting off his statement mid-air. I won’t let you face them alone since they are here for the both of us…”, she said sternly with no room for arguments.
“Hum. You are becoming bolder these days that you even now dare cut me off and impose your command on me,” Reagan mused. “You will receive your punishment accordingly!”
“Ahem…” Another Elder cleared his throat to get everyone’s attention. “King Reagan, I understand you cannot get enough of your queen, which is understandable for a love so fresh as yours, and we sincerely apologise for the intrusion seeing that you also have guests.” The Elder said without any menace then continued-
“However, we all are here today for a specific reason, which is to learn the whereabouts of king Valan and the princess,” Elder Philip of the wisttonaents spoke calmly.
“Who said she is our Queen?” Another voice that clearly does not seem to agree with what the Elder Philip had just said, spoke. “Everyone in this kingdom is aware that she got marked by a rogue, which means she is unfit to be beside our King. What’s more, according to our tradition, her chastity must remain intact during the mating ritual if at all she is really your fated mate, Your Majesty. In addition to that, we all heard what went on last night , as well as the whole morning. That alone, deems her wanton. She has lost her virtue, either by His Majesty, or by that rogue, which is against our beliefs. therefore, she cannot perform the (in aeternum),” Elder Marcus spat with contempt evident in his voice.
Instantaneously, the temperature in the hall decreased significantly, and Amelia flinched at the sudden increase in aura, which has forced all the wolves to their knees, which comes from none other than Reagan. In addition to that, she knew for a fact this wasn’t just Reagan, but his wolf as well. She could feel the vibe was like the one she had felt in the morning when his wolf was present. The only difference this time is that it was suffocating due to his rage.
Reagan leisurely rose from his seat and strode towards the insolent Elder. “You had the nerves to accuse my mate of being unsullied and a second-hand female? You had the balls to take me for a fool, and call me lying? You had the temerity to impose on me whether I get to fully unify with my mate by performing the necessary rite for her to automatically share the bond with our people?” Reagan smiled sinisterly, and halted in front of the stupid Elder then grabbed him by his neck, and was about to snap it when he heard Amelia scream in his mind…
“Adgan!” Amelia called the name she had discovered through projecting of his memories in her mind, knowing that he could hear her. “Please stop,” she pleaded.
A loud growl that sent everyone trembling on their knees in fear, and directed at her as warning, sounded. “You don’t get to tell me what to do, little mate,” he snapped. And Amelia’s breath hitched when his golden orbs met with hers in deterrent, he was so incensed that even the mere sight of him, dreads her. All the more reason she was sure this isn’t Reagan but his angry wolf.
However, she did not weaver. She needed to stop this before he causes the people that already wish her nothing but death, to loath her even more. With that, she moved unevenly in his direction.
Adgan was so vexed that Amelia was pleading for the same person who had classified her worthless just a moment ago, and his grip around the idiot’s neck tightened as he fought the urge to oversee his intention.
“Plea-Please have m-mercy Y-Your Majesty…”, Elder Marcus who was blabbing not long ago began choking on his words.
Amelia glanced around the hall and noticed how the innocent people were quivering in fear from his rage. “Please,” she paused not knowing if she should call his name aloud. “The people have a right to speak their mind. Besides, whatever awful things they say about me, do not matter. Their ridicule does not affect me because only you can hurt me!” she spoke. “Look around you, others are hurting as well. Let him go, please?” Amelia pleaded.
