Tempting My Best Friend’s Father

My boyfriend cheated on me with my best friend. She arranged for people to kidnap me while I was pregnant, and I lost the baby. "I just wanted to teach you a lesson. How was I supposed to know you couldn't handle it? The kid was gone just like that." Her venomous words echoed in my ears. In that moment, rage, pain, and resentment consumed me. At their engagement party, I finished my last glass of champagne. Then I turned and climbed into my best friend's adoptive father's bed—the most dangerous man in the dark empire, Don Jareth. "Don't say I didn't warn you. I'm someone you can't afford to mess with." Jareth dipped his head and caught my earlobe between his teeth. His fingers slipped between my thighs, finding me already soaked, and started working me with slow, expert strokes. “What if…” I gasped, barely getting the words out, “I insist on tempting you?” That did it. He snapped, yanking my thong out of the way, shoving my skirt up around my hips, and burying himself deep inside me with one hard, possessive stroke.
