Chapter40 Injecting Drugs
I glared at him. The cloth rubbed painfully at the corners of my mouth, but my hands and feet bound to the chair couldn't move at all.
Aron crouched down, using the back of the dagger blade to brush my face. "Honestly, you're really quite beautiful. Jareth treats you like a treasure. Gavin has feelings for you too. I'm curious, what exactly is your skill that makes all these men revolve around you?"
I turned my head away from his hand, my face full of disgust.
Aron wasn't angry. Instead, he laughed, gripping my chin to turn my face back. "Don't give me attitude. Jareth values you, I can see that. As long as you agree to help me, tell me about Camorra's core shipping routes, I'll not only release you but give you a large sum of money. Let you leave here, eat well, drink well, live the good life."
"Dream on." I shook my head hard, pushing the cloth gag aside slightly, squeezing out a few words.
Aron's expression instantly darkened. He raised his hand and slapped me. The "smack" made half my face burn, my lip split. He shouted, "Ungrateful! I have plenty of ways to make you talk!"
He signaled a subordinate with his eyes. The man immediately brought over a bucket of ice water, lifted the lid, and splashed it all over me.
The icy water ran down my hair and clothes, freezing me until my teeth chattered, goosebumps covering my entire body, cold seeping into my bones.
Aron crouched down, staring at me. "Will you talk or not? Jareth gave you the south district channels. You definitely know the shipping route schedules inside out. Just tell me and I'll stop immediately."
I gritted my teeth. I absolutely couldn't let him succeed.
Seeing I wouldn't budge, Aron actually smiled. "Fine. You're tough. But let me ask you, what exactly is your relationship with Jareth? He locked up even Serafina for you. Did you seduce him like this? Or are you also involved with Gavin, playing all these men for fools?"
I cursed, "Aron, you're just a sewer rat who only knows how to scheme behind the scenes. You dare mention Jareth? Even if I die, I won't tell scum like you a single word."
"Quite a sharp tongue." Aron was enraged. He grabbed my face, forcing me to look at him. "I'll tell you, today you either reveal the shipping routes or submit to me. Sleep with me for one night. Maybe if I'm in a good mood, I'll spare your life."
"Get lost!" I wished I could tear him apart. "Trash like you, even if you stripped naked and knelt before me, I'd be disgusted by the sight!"
Aron completely lost his patience. He picked up the dagger, the blade tip pressing against my wrist, lightly cutting. Blood immediately beaded up. He gritted his teeth. "I'll ask one last time. Will you talk or not?"
I looked at him coldly, enunciating each word. "Never."
"Good. Very good!" Aron grabbed my hair, slamming my head against the iron chair. With a "bang," my vision went black.
He shouted at his subordinates, "Fine, you're tough, are you? I want to see how many times Jareth can save you. Give her the poison. Then send her to Jareth. Let him see what happens to his precious woman when she falls into my hands!"
His subordinate responded. Aron turned and left cursing. Only I and two guard men remained in the room.
I was frozen stiff from the ice water. The knife wound on my wrist was still bleeding. Watching those two men pull out syringes and clear liquid, my heart panicked, but the rope binding me wouldn't budge.
"Don't touch me!" I shouted.
But those two men acted as if they hadn't heard. One grabbed my arm while the other held the syringe, moving closer. The cold needle tip pressed against my arm, about to pierce in.
Just then, the warehouse iron door was kicked open with a "bang."
A tall, imposing figure stood backlit. Cold wind blew, making his black coat flutter dramatically.
Behind that figure followed a dozen black-suited bodyguards, all holding guns aimed at the people inside.
It was Jareth!
