War

Within two days, a large army sent by Jacob and Eros set out for the Northern border area. They carried giant catapults.

"We will win," Jacob said.

"Yes," replied Eros as he glanced at his army of horses and archers.

Their departure was obviously a big question mark for the people of Sinclair. Because no one had heard that there would be a big war.

Curtis and his troops were also ready. They saw the giant military equipment lined up among the soldiers.

"Those two guys must be very confident because they have those combat weapons," Samuel said.

"Yes, anyone with such a large weapon would be confident," Curtis replied.

The two mounted their horses wearing armor. The grip of their hands on the sword was tight.

"Do we need to transform into werewolves?" Jason asked.

"No, it will work in their favor. That weapon will be easy to aim at a large target. You can shapeshift if you get near the big catapult and destroy it," Curtis instructed the troops not to shapeshift before approaching the catapult.

"Okay."

Swana heard the news immediately. She couldn't believe that the two ministers she trusted wanted to destroy her territory. Swana had always known that they were ambitious to dominate. She just didn't think that the prime minister and advisory ministers would mobilize troops.

"They're really looking to die!" growled Swana.

"My lady, don't get angry. Keep your temper because you are pregnant," Nancy tried to calm Swana down.

"I should have expected this to happen. I was careless in thinking they would forget their ambitions," Swana grumbled.

"You can't make people change their behavior in a short time. They must have been cooperative all along to wait for this opportunity."

"Yes. I thought so too. Well, if they want destruction then I won't stop them. Send a message to Curtis to destroy the arrogance of those two. "

"Yes my Lady."

After this, she wanted to hear an explanation from Noel. She sent the eagle to deliver a letter to Noel.

Curtis suddenly received a letter from Swana. A pleasant endorsement from his wife. His smile widened at the injection of encouragement his wife gave him.

"Are you ready!?" Curtis shouted.

"Yeah!" Curtis' entire army answered.

"They dare to set foot on our land with arrogance! They intend to destroy us and humiliate us. So attack them! Give them no mercy! Destroy! Attack!!!"

The Curtis soldiers' shouts of encouragement and wide footsteps shook the earth. They were fiery and wild-looking.

And on the opposite side, Jacob immediately gave the signal to attack.

"Archers! Attack!"

Thousands of arrows flew into the sky. The arrows flew fast and punishingly towards the running Curtis soldiers. Some of them were immediately on standby to receive the arrows. Without hesitation, they lunged at the arrows with their swords.

At the moment when the soldiers were about to prepare to receive the arrows with their shields, a fire burned all the arrows. It was Jason who did it.

"Keep going!" Jason shouted.

"Attack!"

Jacob was amazed to see how thousands of arrows disappeared due to the fire ability of one of Curtis' captains. But he did not panic because he had a very large weapon. Jacob knew that their chances of winning were in long-range combat.

"Did you see it?!" Eros asked.

Unlike Jacob, Eros was frightened to see one of the captain's powers from Curtis.

"What?" Jacob sneered. "Just because of that little ability, you got scared!"

"It's not small, it's---"

"Shut up! Do you want to kill the warrior spirit!" Jacob snapped.

Eros was silent. But he couldn't shake the fear of seeing what the werewolf was capable of. If his captain alone had such great abilities, he couldn't imagine what his commander was capable of.

Eros' courage plummeted, but Jacob quickly regained his confidence after ordering the catapult troops to attack.

"Throw!"

A ball of gunpowder flew towards Curtis' troops. This time the man knew that his soldiers were in danger.

He immediately shot fire toward the ball of gunpowder. Which immediately exploded in the air.

"Sam! Destroy that gun!"

"Yes, Commander!"

Samuel spurred his horse past the soldiers facing each other.

The panicked voice of Curtis made Jacob laugh. "You see? He's afraid of our weapons!"

Eros laughed too. He also gave the signal to the troops handling the giant catapult.

"Fire!"

The balls of fire flew through the air again. Curtis was forced to jump high, take out his sword and slash everything to prevent it from exploding. Then he landed among the fighting soldiers. He also joined the fight while keeping an eye out for the fireballs from the giant catapult until Samuel managed to damage the weapon.

It turned out that this war was not as easy as Curtis had imagined. No wonder Jacob and Eros were confident when they attacked the northern region. However, their weapons weren't enough to make Curtis submit.

Curtis of course fought easily against ordinary soldiers. He only stopped when one by one his captains and soldiers turned into wolves. That signaled that they would destroy the catapult.

"Good, they managed to break through Jacob's army."

The sound of wood being crushed made Jacob's soldiers turn their heads. Their spirits were immediately crushed by the sight they saw. Large and ferocious wolves now seemed to be preparing to finish them off.

"Run!" Shouted one of Jacob's soldiers. Which was followed by his comrades.

Of course, Curtis' soldiers didn't want to let them go. But they had to stop at sunset. After all, they would have to obey the rules of war.

"I can't be here anymore! I'm going home!" Eros spurred his horse to leave the built-up camp area.

The soldiers who stayed in the camp were confused. If their leader was scared, how much more so his subordinates.

Jacob knew

that there was no hope of winning. The werewolves at war were truly terrifying. He shouldn't have challenged them. Now, he lost his mainstay army.

"Your Highness, Duke. What should we do?" Asked his squad leader.

Jacob didn't know. There were only two choices, run or surrender.

"You guys please recover your energy. I'll tell you our plan tomorrow."

They believed Jacob's words. No one suspected that the man had also run away from the camp. He didn't want to die silly either.
