Chapter 102 Chapter 102
Chapter 102 Chapter 102
Clara's POV:
Just returning from having a blast of fun at my best friend's birthday party, I was not expecting Jace to come to my room directly to scold me.
His face looked so annoyed, and his voice was barely containing his anger.
"I am warning you, Clara. If this continues, then get ready for a full court custody of my son."
I scoffed as Jace's words rang a pang in my heart, reminding me that I wasn't Kevin's real mother. But I wasn't going to budge just yet.
As I moved closer to touch his crotch, Jace looked at me disdainfully. His once warm eyes were now glaring at me with an intense amount of anger.
Though I lied to him that Celine was married, and he was sacrificing his manhood, since I knew that Jace didn't like other women getting close to him.
For five years, Jace had protected his space and hadn't been with any woman.
I saw the flicker of emotions in his eyes. He truly missed my twin sister, but as soon as the emotions appeared, they were quickly replaced by a glare as they disappeared.
Jace stormed off, not wanting to take a look at my body, and I smirked, moving back to my bed and wishing that I could get a grasp of where Celine was.
For the past five years, I had secretly been searching for my twin sister.
Part of the reason was because I knew that she was the only one who knew that I wasn't Kevin's real mother, who could expose me.
My subordinates wouldn't dare. They had no proof against me, and I made sure of that.
If they strike, they would go down too. It was a win-win situation for us all.
As I walked out of the room, I saw Jace standing by Kevin's door, calling to his son, but the young lad didn't respond to his father.
I wouldn't have thought that my words would deeply affect Kevin. He wanted his motherly love, but he wasn't my child, and I felt no bond for him.
I don't try to bring him or entertain him, and that's why he was cold.
Jace looked away from me and stormed off, but I was so hungry that I went downstairs to have a feast of my dinner.
My mind was planning to launch a new search for my twin sister no matter what it took.
I cannot allow her to reunite with Jace.
Jace was mine and mine alone.
A crooked smile curled up my lips, but I sat calmly at the dining table and enjoyed my dinner.
After my dinner, I went back to my room to sleep.
However, as I laid on the bed, a cold sweat formed on my forehead, and dread ran down my spine just as my head touched the pillow.
It reminded me of my dream the previous night.
I saw Celine and Jace together. He was so kind to her, doted on her, they reunited, and also had a happy life, while I was locked up in prison.
I screamed aloud so much that I was scared to return to the nightmare.
And this night, I just laid on the bed, scrolling through my phone and avoided the sleep that took hold of me.
After browsing my sister's page, I found out that Celine hadn't been online since five years ago.
She hadn't posted anything, and that was supposed to calm me, but I was worried.
However, knowing that my twin sister loves me very much, no matter what I did to her, I knew that she would not accept me going to jail if the truth comes out one day.
With that thought in mind, I drifted off to sleep.
Celine's POV
Arriving home, Kaleb reminded me to ask, "Mom, are you going to call that uncle?"
"Which uncle?" I asked, pretending like I didn't know that Kaleb was referring to Edwin.
"The uncle who gave you a blue card to call him, of course?" Kaleb asked as I unlocked the door to our apartment.
"Kaleb, he is a business client and not your uncle, okay. I haven't considered whether I will work for his company or not, as I don't want anything to take my time away from you. You can see the time that we are arriving home, at 8 pm. Not much for us not to have the time for ourselves to rest."
"Mom, you're super great. I love you, Mom!" Kaleb exclaimed out of nowhere and hugged me by my legs.
I relaxed, even though I felt this unease that I might get to see Jace one of these days that I seem Edwin around.
"I love you too, Kaleb. Mom wouldn't want anyone to take your place in her heart, okay," I squatted to meet my son's height in the living room, and he giggled.
"Alright, Mom."
"Come, let's go and prepare for your night bath. I brought your food home," I walked away and made my way to my son's room to help him get his bath ready.
Once I was done with keeping my bag in my room, I moved over to Kaleb's room. Assisted him with having a hot bath as the weather was cold and seeming like it was going to rain heavily.
After that, I dressed him up in a white pajama.
"Mom will soon go and have her bath now, okay?" I kissed my son's forehead, and I was done rubbing his skin with some dusting powder.
"Alright, Mom," Kaleb offered me a warm smile as he glanced up at my face.
"Mom, can you lend me your phone? I want to play games. Please?" Kaleb asked me in a nervous tone, and I looked at his lovely girl-like face. His eyes were so shining bright and enchanting.
"Alright. But do not press anything else or log into the internet, okay?" I carefully warned him, and I went to bring my phone from the corner that I kept it to charge.
"Alright, Mom. Don't worry. Go and have your bath," Kaleb carefully pushed me out of his room and closed the door. My brows raised, wondering what he was up to.
Anyway, I waved it off and went to my room to have my bath.
Thoughts came flooding back into my mind, what will I do now that Edwin has come into the picture? Was this fate, or should I keep up with the pretense?
Moving over to the mirror, I glanced at my stunning reflection. As my hair was a deep shade of red and was cut in a short wave compared to the long blonde hair that I kept before.
Sighing, I shook my head against admitting to my past and hoped that I didn't run into Clara anytime soon.
I wouldn't want her to steal Kaleb away. Clara claimed that Kevin was her son simply because she dated Jace first, but she forgot that she pushed me into marrying her fiancé. So rightfully, Jace was my husband. I was the one who married him, not her.
But I couldn't admit that truth. I had always loved my twin sister and wouldn't want to dampen her spirit.
After having a hot bath, I got out of the bathroom and dressed up in a white nightdress. Then I went back to my son's room to check on him.
