Chapter 32: Different World, Different Life

I can't let this man overshadow my strength of heart. I pondered while I opened my mouth to speak.

"Something happened, and I'm having difficulty adjusting to my new surroundings," I responded quietly, my voice tinged with worry, and then crossed my arms over my chest.

I wasn't ready for someone I didn't know to take advantage of my vulnerability. But my heart couldn't take it anymore.

So, I started observing the place around me, and shivers traveled down my spine, causing my body to shake.

The more it appeared, the more fear began to sneak into my heart, making it harder to believe I was alone there. Although I had been on a journey with my mates, where I am now, is not where they are. And that is f*cking scary.*

*What does this stranger do to me? Is he holding me here under the presumption that I was his in another world? Or is this some magical mirror that is the opposite of my true life? I wondered as I scanned the unknown surroundings I had found myself in.*

*This new world was filled with malice and different from where I came from. Was I ready to undertake this huge task to combat the evil that lurked behind these walls? One thing is for sure, I wasn't. And that was something I knew I would regret.*

*While deep in thought, I noticed him making his way toward me. The way his feet moved was as though evil spirits were creating problems that I couldn't fathom.*

I tried to communicate with my wolf, but she wasn't answering my call, which made me more nervous to try and figure out what I should do.

*"Come on. Talk to me here. I need you to tell me everything will work out."* I pleaded silently, hoping that my effort would not be in vain.

But the more I tried, an uneasiness filled my bones, causing me to continue trying.

*Who would block her from communicating with me? She is part of my true nature, but I feel like a simple human without her.* I wondered while I shifted from one foot to the other, and my nerves ran rampant inside my chest.

As he made his way closer, my eyes widened, and I felt something beginning to stir within me. Darkness started surrounding me with thick black smoke, causing my throat to begin closing up.

Fangs started growing inside his mouth as he walked closer with each step reverberating off the linoleum floor.

My hands started shaking uncontrollably as he walked closer and faster than humanly possible.

***"What do you think you're doing?"*** I screamed, astonished at how easily I found my voice.

He looked at me with beady eyes, which made me scared of this man I had no recognition of.

I gripped the side of my pajamas and twisted them as I tried to control my anger. It was not possible. All I felt was angrier, wishing to calm myself down.

Before he grabbed my arm and squeezed it tightly, he stared at me with his eyes glazing over.

"I don't fcking believe you. Tell me the fcking truth!" He whispered in my ear with a low growl, and I flinched subconsciously.

The way he held me tightly, something was wrong with this man. I wish my wolf would help me. But ever since I appeared here, I haven't heard from her. I couldn't cope with it.

*Moon goddess, I plead for you to give me the strength to overcome this situation.* I prayed silently, wishing she would send me something to fight him.

After that, I felt a surge of energy forming around my body. Which gave me some type of

Once again, I stood up straight and peered into his eyes.

"Ouch! That hurts!" I grumbled, unable to fully understand the extent of what was going on.

My mind began racing with consistent thoughts, urging me to doubt my inner strength.

*What did I do for this man to hurt me like this?* I thought while biting my lip.

As I continued biting, the smell of raw blood wafted through my nose.

"Let me go! You have no right to grip my arm like that!" I snarled as I tried to remove my arm from his hand.

I waved my arm left and right, trying desperately to remove it from his grasp. But as I did that, he gripped it harder and yanked me closer to his chest.

His mouth touched my ear, and I stood idly, not moving an inch in hopes that he would see the pain I was in.

"If you want me to let you go, you will tell me the truth!" Carl responded, his stance growing taller than he originally was.

I looked into his eyes, ready to tell him everything. But fear still held onto my heart with an iron-like grip, forbidding me to reveal what lay hidden beneath my heart.

*Come on. Just say it. Maybe he can help me get out of here? I thought, trying to convince myself it would work.* So, I sighed deeply, letting the stifling air of the room flow through my nose.

"Alright. Here it goes," I said with conviction even though I knew it wouldn't work.

Then he inclined his head, an eagerness, and passed over his eyes.

My hands began clenching and unclenching as I steeled myself for what was to come. Little did I know the regret I felt earlier would come true in a heartbeat.

Not willing to let it go, I took a deep breath and strengthened my stance.

"Carl, I know that I'm not from around here. So, please understand where I am coming from." I whispered under my breath, afraid of how he would respond.

To my horror, he just stood there, his arms crossed over his chest. What was he thinking about? Does he believe I'm lying? Or does he believe the words I had spoken?

Then, he bellowed a laugh that knocked me off my feet.

"You..."
