Chapter 33: Conversation and Altercation
Then, he bellowed a laugh that knocked me off my feet.
"You..." He declared while pointing his finger at me, then grinned before continuing. His eyes turned from this weird gray-like color to all black.
I shifted from one foot to the other as his words lingered in my ear. The more I did, the more unease fluttered around in my belly. This man that I didn't know started advancing towards me while he observed me from head to toe.
*Why is he watching me like that?* I pondered as he started speaking, his voice filled with anger.
I wrapped my arms around my chest and rubbed my hands up and down. *What the heck is going on here?* I wondered as the hair on my arm stood up on end.
*This whole situation is outrageous!* *What the f*ck am I going to do? I yelled internally while looking around, hoping not to make everything worse than it already was.
Being in a world I didn't know was upsetting to me. Yet, deep down, I knew I must be strong enough to overcome the situation. Without much thought, I stood my ground.
"You are mine forever!" He snarled, and spit flew out of his mouth.
Each word spoken lay heavily on my heart, causing me to stare at him.
*I don't understand how somebody I barely know could say that. He has no idea how his words fill my heart with anger, but this person doesn't need to know.* I wondered as my eyes changed color while determination seeped through my veins.
*He will not tell me that! This man has no right over me!* I thought as I shifted from one foot to the other.
I will not let him tell me what to do because this is my life, and he has no right to do so. As that crossed my brain, I noticed him making his way towards me.
Once close enough, he squeezed my arm, and the blood in it began to disappear.
My mind went blank while I tried to figure out how to regain my inner strength.
*Wait, why is this person so much stronger than I am? How is that possible?* I wondered as I tried to remove my arm from his grasp.
Yet it wasn't working; all it did was cause him to grip it harder and tighter.
Something I hadn't noticed before caught my attention as I peered at it. A black and blue stain was beginning to form on my arm.
"You think you know what's best for you? I mean, come on, you're in my world." He said, his voice filling with disdain.
Dejectedly, I looked at the ground, my heart pounding.
*You know what? He will not see the fear behind my eyes. He needs to know that I am a force to be reckoned with and not to be taken advantage of!*
Whatever I do next would undoubtedly be the fight of my life.
Once those words left his mouth, my eyes widened, and my jaw dropped in shock. I couldn't believe what he was saying.
It was as though a bucket of cold water had been dumped over my head, bringing me back to the reality of the situation.
*This is not f*cking happening! I will not let him overpower me!* I thought as he continued speaking.
"You'll never leave if that's how I want it to be!" He screamed each word with malice in his voice.
As he continued speaking, the room began spinning, and my mind reeled at the altercation between us. My heart couldn't take it anymore, yet I knew I had to be strong.
*No! I don't believe a word he's saying! I can't do that! Isn't there some way I can leave here?* I wondered as my eyes scanned my surroundings, but all I could see was a room filled with trinkets and other stuff.
I stood up straighter my mind made up. Looking into his eyes, I spoke; my voice was calm and measured. "You will not tell me what to do!" I wasn't ready to be taken advantage of, although it might be possible at the rate I was going.
He ran toward me with lightning-like speed, catching me off guard. Then, he grabbed me by the neck and began squeezing it to the point my breath started slowing down.
I raised my hands in the air, hoping to dispel his anger, but was immediately thrown to the other side of the room. Suddenly, I peered at my hands, and noticed something off about it.
What the f*ck! Why isn't it working? My magic should have worked against him!* I thought as frustration started boiling in my heart.
*Moon Goddess, I pray for your help in this situation!* I silently prayed as his feet echoed against the hardwood floor of the room.
*Am I dreaming? Or is this reality?* I thought as my eyes observed the room around me. Everything about it had this ethereal appearance as if something was fake. But in my heart, I knew it was only a part of my journey to discover my true self.
I peered back at him, determination growing with each second that passed.
"I don't know what I did to make you, a stranger, act evil towards me! Can't you leave me the f*ck alone!?" I screamed and tried moving from one part of the room to another.
*There has to be someway I can leave here. But how?* I pondered as my eyes scanned the room again, hoping to find something, an opening, or anything of the sort.
But I couldn't move any further because he raised his hands, and black tendrils of smoke appeared in them. My eyes widened as it made its way towards me. Then, the tendrils started snaking around from the bottom of my feet to my neck.
I thrashed around, trying to use whatever magic flowed through my body. But it wasn't working.
"You are going to die here! Too bad your mates will never see you again!"
