Chapter 272 How About Using Her to Replace Scarlett
Ambrose was a bit drunk, but when the wind blew over, his head cleared up quite a bit.
"Let go, I told you, I'm not a hostess." A woman's voice came through clearly to Ambrose's ears.
Chase's car happened to pull up just then. As Ambrose was getting in, he heard another sentence.
"You'd better let me go, I'm Mr. Boleyn's woman!"
He paused, turned his head, and saw Tobias raising his hand to hit Felicity.
"He's nothing. I could bring the Boleyn Group to bankruptcy with a single move. If you know what's good for you, you'll come with me now." Tobias's arrogant words drilled into Ambrose's ears, every single one of them.
He slammed the car door shut, his expression dark with anger, and strode toward them. Chase immediately followed, hurrying out of the car to catch up with Ambrose.
"Mr. Boleyn, let me handle this."
If Ambrose made a move, he would go all in—and at this moment, offending the Reynolds family was not worth the risk.
And all for a stranger—it wasn't worth it.
The grudge of Tobias trying to take Scarlett hadn't been settled yet, and now he was insulting him again. Ambrose had never taken this kind of treatment. If he didn't pay it back right then and there, he'd never be able to let it go.
He raised his hand to signal that he would handle it himself, so Chase could only follow behind.
"Mr. Reynolds sure talks big."
When Ambrose's cold voice rang out, he had already reached the two of them.
Tobias turned around and saw Ambrose dressed all in black, staring at him like the grim reaper.
He frowned. He'd heard the stories about Ambrose, and seeing him now with such presence, but Ambrose was just a businessman after all—he really didn't take him seriously.
He shoved Felicity to his men and looked at Ambrose dismissively.
"So you're the one helping her. But I saw this woman first. If you want to take her from me, you'll have to trade something for her."
Ambrose didn't take this arrogance seriously. Just as he was about to teach him a lesson, he heard Tobias say something even more delusional.
"Give me Scarlett, and she's yours. How about it?"
Tobias only had eyes for Scarlett. Scarlett was the real beauty. Although this woman looked like her, in terms of temperament, she was far inferior.
Since he'd failed last time, there hadn't been a day he didn't think about Scarlett. If he couldn't have her, he'd never give up.
In the past few days, rumors about her and Ambrose had spread everywhere, unsettling him more than he cared to admit. He couldn’t wait to see Scarlett again. Now that the opportunity was here, he had no intention of letting it go.
Ambrose had been drinking, but he could still control his emotions. However, hearing Tobias going after Scarlett again, the anger he'd been suppressing all evening shot up. He stepped forward and kicked Tobias hard in the stomach.
Tobias didn’t even manage to defend himself before collapsing to the ground. Ambrose stepped in and drove his foot down onto his face.
"Last time you touched her, I haven't settled that score with you yet. Now you want to go after her again? Tobias, do you think I, Ambrose, have no temper?"
With that, he lifted his foot and kicked again.
Tobias cried out in pain.
Tobias's men tried to come forward to save him, but Chase knocked them down one by one.
Ambrose's killing intent was like raging waters as he ruthlessly stepped on his head.
"What are you? You dare to even think about my woman? Since the Reynolds family won't teach you, I'll teach you how to be a decent human being."
Ambrose was going for the kill, kicking Tobias several times. Just then, Ruben and Felix came over and rushed to pull him back.
"Ambrose, don't kill him, don't dirty your hands." Ruben tried to stop him.
Tobias was from the Reynolds family. Killing him would mean bringing that family down on them—and that would be far from easy to handle.
Felix also held him back. "Think about Ms. Mellon. A scumbag like him—you'd dirty your hands touching him."
At the mention of Scarlett, Ambrose's anger cooled a little—but he still didn’t let up on his foot. His warning to Tobias came out cold and controlled.
"If you ever touch her again, I'll take your life."
The moment Ambrose withdrew his foot, Tobias's men hurried in to lift him up. He was in visible pain, groaning as they helped him away, still hurling curses as he left.
"You just wait."
This was the entrance to the club. No one dared step in or break up the fight. The crowd only watched from a distance as Ruben scanned the faces around him.
"Everyone, move along."
The onlookers slowly dispersed. The people who came here all knew Ambrose.
Seeing Felicity's appearance, they were secretly shocked. This woman looked like Scarlett, but wasn't Scarlett. They wondered if Ambrose had a new lover and had found a woman who resembled Scarlett.
"Chase, take Ambrose back. He's had quite a bit to drink." Felix instructed.
The murderous aura around Ambrose hadn't completely faded. He irritably tugged at his collar.
As he turned to walk toward the car, a soft, gentle voice came.
"Mr. Boleyn, you've saved me twice now. Thank you so much."
Only then did the men remember the source of the trouble, and their eyes turned toward her.
Ambrose saw that familiar yet strange face, stopped in his tracks, his eyes dark as water.
"I beat him up because he was going after someone he shouldn't have. Don't flatter yourself."
Felicity pressed her lips together, looking pitiful as she wrung her hands, watching Ambrose anxiously.
"Also, next time, if I hear you say you have any connection to me again, you won't end up any better than Tobias."
His voice was ice-cold, his gaze sharp.
Felicity stood frozen, tears gathering in her eyes. On Scarlett, that expression might have seemed effortlessly charming—but on her, it only felt strained.
Ambrose gave her one cold look and turned to leave.
Felicity wanted to chase after him to explain, but Ruben blocked her way, even giving her a somewhat well-meaning warning.
"There are plenty of women throwing themselves at him, and they all end up badly. Don't think that just because you look like Scarlett, you can have pipe dreams. I'm telling you to drop those crazy ideas, or you'll really end up badly."
With that, he turned and left with Felix.
Felicity watched the three men's backs, wringing her hands, her eyes full of resentment.
Since Ambrose had spoken up to save her once and had even made an enemy of Tobias, that meant he still had some interest in this face of hers. She would wait slowly, wait for the right opportunity.
The next day, Scarlett didn't get up as usual. Besides not feeling well, she also didn't want to see Ambrose, so she stayed in bed until he took the two children back to the Boleyn family before getting up.
When she got up, it was already ten o'clock. After breakfast, she first changed the door code, then went out.
She drove to the hospital and registered. At this time, she became the last patient in the examination room.
The doctor had worked all morning and looked tired, her tone not very pleasant.
"What's the problem?"
Scarlett calmly described her symptoms. After listening, the female doctor gave her an indifferent look and said coldly.
"Take off your pants and lie down on the bed."
Aside from childbirth, Scarlett had never been with a man and had never experienced any gynecological issues, so this kind of examination was completely new to her.
Hearing this, she felt somewhat embarrassed for a moment and moved slowly. The female doctor impatiently urged her.
"Hurry up!"
She could only lie nervously on the bed, unable to do anything to ease her anxiety. But when the doctor inserted the speculum, a sharp pain made her cry out.
"What are you yelling about? It's just a little discomfort." The female doctor snapped irritably.
Scarlett felt humiliated, but she endured it.
"Is my injury serious?" She asked.
"Pretty serious. You have some tears. I'll prescribe some ointment for you to apply first and see if it gets better. If not, you'll need stitches." The female doctor responded in an icy tone.
