Chapter 113 Injured

It was quite strange. When Amelia was fragile before, she thought of Elara and Carl; At that time she was injured, she thought of Ryan and wanted to be hugged and comforted by him, but she's also afraid he'll blame her.

When he got angry, he was reckless.

She endured until the evening when a car arrived at the foot of the mountain, bringing a group of experts.

The leading man in his forties saw Amelia's injured face and ankle. He repeatedly apologized, "Amelia, I'm really sorry, we came late."

Seeing that he knew her name and looked somewhat familiar, Amelia tilted her head and asked, "And you are?"

Elton Riddick smiled and introduced himself, "Like you, I was once an apprentice of Mr. Greer. Later, I became a public official, so my restoration skills were delayed. I am now the director of the Cultural Heritage Museum, Elton Riddick."

Amelia then remembered that when Ryan donated to the Cultural Heritage Museum, he was talking with Elton.

Enduring the severe pain, she said, "Thank you, Elton."

Then she asked, "Do you have any spray for sprains?"

The pain was unbearable, so Elton hurriedly asked others for medicine. Amelia took it and sprayed it on the swollen area.

Elton stayed behind to excavate the antiques.

He called for a helicopter to take Amelia and others back to Starglow Bay for medical treatment. Eugene and others were also taken away to be handed over to the police.

By the time Amelia arrived at the hospital, completed the examination, and received treatment, it was already past ten in the evening.

Lying on the hospital bed receiving an IV, she received a call from Ryan, "Why aren't you back yet?"

Amelia didn't dare to tell the truth, "It's a bit busy here, I won't be back for a few days."

"Isn't it just identifying authenticity? How busy can it be? Send me your location." Ryan said unhappily on the other end.

Amelia had no choice. She wanted Elton to send a fake location, but Elton had a poor signal and no internet.

Amelia had to admit, "I'm in the hospital."

Ryan raised his voice, "Where are you hurt?"

"A minor injury," Amelia said softly.

Ryan knew it couldn't be a minor injury if she was in the hospital and asked seriously, "Tell the truth."

Feeling guilty, Amelia reluctantly said, "I just sprained my ankle, it's not serious, don't worry."

"Send me the hospital room number, I'll come over right away." Ryan felt extremely regretful and thought he shouldn't have agreed to let her go to Bluewater Village for identification.

"You have work tomorrow, it's too late today, don't come over, I'll be fine after a few days in the hospital," Amelia explained softly.

"Hurry up," Ryan said anxiously.

Seeing him angry, Amelia had to give the room number.

After hearing it, Ryan hung up and called the bodyguard to inquire in detail, only to find out it was Eugene's doing. He then asked the bodyguard to bring Eugene to the hospital.

He wanted to see how badly Amelia was hurt and then punish Eugene.

About half an hour later, while Amelia was receiving an IV, someone knocked on the door. Amelia thought it was Ryan and said, "Come in."

But it was Christopher.

Amelia quickly propped herself up with one hand, "Mr. Martin, why are you here?"

Christopher had no time to answer her and looked at her injured face with worried eyes, "Will your face scar?"

Amelia comforted him, "No, it's just a scratch from a branch, it'll be fine in a few days."

"It's my fault for not considering everything," Christopher said and felt very guilty.

Amelia felt embarrassed and said softly, "It's Eugene's fault, not yours."

Christopher's face darkened, a flash of anger in his eyes.

Amelia worried that if Ryan came and saw Christopher, it would cause an unpleasant scene.

She smiled and said, "It's late, Mr. Martin, you should go back."

Christopher's gaze fell on her foot under the blanket, wanting to ask more but holding back.

He said gently, "Take good care of yourself, I'll come to see you tomorrow."

Amelia smiled, "No need, you're very busy."

Christopher replied, "I have time recently."

Even though he was busy, he blurted out that he had time. He even wanted to say he could stay to take care of Amelia but held back. Amelia said awkwardly, "Ryan is coming soon, he... gets a bit jealous."

Christopher didn't want to make Amelia uncomfortable, so he clenched his fist slightly and said with a reluctant look, "Alright, I'll go."

As he opened the door and walked out, he saw Ryan grabbing Eugene by the collar, throwing him onto the hallway floor outside the room.

Eugene fell to the ground, clutching his knee and crying out in pain.

Glancing at Amelia's injured face, Ryan gritted his teeth and kicked Eugene's hand, pressing it to the ground.

The pain made Eugene's face contort and he almost passed out. He weakly said, "Mr. Martin, you shouldn't treat me like this, I'm your father-in-law!"

Ryan looked down at him coldly, "Father-in-law? That depends on whether Amelia acknowledges you as her father."

Christopher's face was emotionless.

Eugene knelt on the ground and wailed, "Spare me, I won't dare again! I didn't mean to..."

Ryan found him noisy and waved his hand to order the bodyguard, "Drag him out!"

The bodyguard quickly stepped forward and dragged Eugene out.

Ryan glanced at Christopher, walked to the bedside, and sat down. He lifted Amelia's chin to examine her wound, his eyes filled with undisguised pain, "What if your face scars?"

Amelia wanted to avoid his hand and felt a bit uncomfortable being so intimate in front of Christopher.

Ryan's hand holding her chin tightened slightly, not letting her avoid it. He gently touched her wound and angrily said, "A little higher and it would have hurt your eye. Is he your father?"

Amelia held his wrist and tried to move it away. She softly said, "It'll be fine in a few days, don't worry."

Ryan lifted the blanket to check her ankle, which was red and swollen. He said with a frown, "Whose idea was it to let you go to Bluewater Village?"

Amelia feared this question and softly said, "I wanted to go myself."

Ryan raised an eyebrow and asked skeptically, "Really? You were vague on the phone, do you think I don't know?"

If he asked further, it would naturally involve Christopher. Amelia didn't want to worsen their conflict, so she said, "I'm thirsty, I want some water."

Ryan knew she didn't want to say more and already had an idea, so he stood up, "I'll get you some."

He handed a cup of water to Amelia. Christopher said to Amelia again, "I'm leaving now."

Amelia looked up and smiled at him, "Alright, goodbye."

Christopher responded softly, turned to leave. Ryan patted Amelia's head and said, "Drink your water, I'll see the guest out."

They walked out of the room, one after the other.

They were taking the elevator down, both with stern faces as if they had a deep-seated grudge. Ryan said, "Let's talk."
