Chapter 47 part healer part beta
Amelia’s P.O.V. (Continued)
“What is it?” Marcus asked me curiously as soon as Raymond closed the door after exiting the room.
“I don’t know. Even Edwin doesn’t know about the content. It’s wax sealed.” I took the fruit knife from the side stand to open up the seal while replying to him.
“I am still confused. Hunter is not an emotional being. On the contrary, he is known for his heartlessness. What made him so attached to Xander?” Marcus muttered while I focused on opening the sealed box.
I kept my movements light, fearing that I would destroy the content if I use force.
“Did you forget what Xander actually is?” I asked him nonchalantly and opened the seal at the same time.
Marcus didn’t answer but scooted near me. With an anxious heart, I opened the box. I frowned when I saw a small, tightly sealed vial inside the box.
I took it out and my confusion deepened when I saw blood inside the vial.
“Blood? What for?” Marcus asked me in confusion, but I also had no idea about that.
“I guess I need to call Marcus.” I mumbled when I couldn’t understand the purpose of sending this blood vial. Hunter had already stocked his blood here for Xander.
As he told us, his blood really had a very strong healing power.
After he left the hospital, Dr. Harrison advised me to try his blood serum on my body to see if it works on me or not.
To our surprise, it really did work, and I felt relieved from the constant pain that I had to endure all the time.
Still, Dr. Harrison was cautious because of our different blood types.
Marcus pulled his phone out and opened it.
“Are you calling him?” I asked him, looking inside the box for any clue, but to my dismay, there was nothing.
“This…. This is King Alexander’s blood.” Marcus stuttered hard while speaking.
I snapped my head in his direction; my eyes widened in disbelief.
His face went pale as if he had seen a scary ghost.
“Why did he send Alexander’s blood?” I asked him in a shocked tone.
“We can’t use this blood.” He mumbled, and I immediately frowned.
“Why can’t. He is the alpha of the alphas, Marcus, a pureblood. I am sure that his blood has more healing powers than Hunter’s.” I argued, a sliver of hope rising in my heart.
He was about to argue back when someone knocked on the door. The door opened and Dr. Harrison entered with another werewolf doctor.
I immediately put the vial inside the box and shut it hurriedly in alarm.
“Ms. Locke. Mr. Smith.” Dr. Harrison greeted us with a polite smile, but I was wary of the second doctor.
“This is Dr. Darius Stanfield. I am sure that you have heard his name already.” Dr. Harrison introduced the second doctor. My eyes widened in shock.
Dr. Darius Stanfield…. Part beta…. Part healer….
A well-known medical researcher and also a part of the werewolf medical council.
“Hello, Dr. Stanfield. It’s a pleasure to meet you.” Marcus greeted him in a stiff voice.
“Marcus. It has been so long since we met, and you already forgot me?” I pursed my lips into a thin line when Dr. Stanfield teased Marcus, but I could feel tension building inside Marcus.
“It’s not like that, Darius.” Marcus replied in the same stiff tone.
“Don’t be like this, Marcus. I don’t care what they said about you. I am just glad that you are not only alive, but also you have built up something on your own, far better than what they have.”
The way Dr. Stanfield was speaking so friendly with Marcus, I am sure that they knew each other for a long time.
“Who doesn’t know the alpha of the Night Raven Rogue Pack these days? Except me, of course.” He added it further in the same tone, admiration evident in his voice, but his last statement took me off guard.
“I was so busy with my research work that I am not fully aware of the things going on around us. I heard about your rogue pack and its accomplishments, but I didn’t know that it’s you who runs that pack.” Dr. Stanfield sounded chatty, as he didn’t stop speaking.
Dr. Harrison cleared his throat, making Dr. Stanfield stop in the end.
“Uhhhh…. It’s good that you guys know each other. Actually, I need your permission to discuss Xander’s case with Dr. Stanfield.” Dr. Harrison spoke to me this time, a bit anxious, but it only made me frown.
“I mean no offense, Dr. Stanfield, but Dr. Harrison, shouldn’t you talk to me before involving Dr. Stanfield?” I questioned Dr. Harrison angrily.
“It’s not his fault, Ms. Locke.” Dr. Stanfield defended Dr. Harrison, but it didn’t lessen my anger.
“I accidentally came across Xander’s case two days ago. I only know that the pup was born with so many complications. With all those complications, he shouldn’t have survived this long, but it’s his strong will to live. This is what I heard from the staff here, not from Dr. Harrison.” He explained calmly.
I calmed down a little. “Whether humans or not, the medical ethic about a patient’s privacy is the same for everyone, Ms. Locke.” He added it further and took a deep breath.
Marcus held my hand and squeezed it gently.
“It’s okay. He is not a bad person, Amelia. We aren’t friends, but I know him.” Marcus assured me.
I was still tense, but with Marcus here, I can rest assured.
For the next few minutes, Marcus and Dr. Harrison explained Xander’s situation to Dr. Stanfield while I slipped into my thoughts.
I was still holding that box tightly in my hands.
Why did Alexander send his blood? I am sure that Hunter must have told him about Xander.
Did he also tell him that Xander is my son?
How did Alexander react to this? Was he disappointed or shocked? Does he still want me to be his girlfriend in the future?
He already knew that I was assaulted, and with Xander, living evidence of that assault, will he still see me with the same respect?
“Amelia.” Marus suddenly yelled at me, making me flinch harder, coming out of my trance.
“What happened?” I asked him hurriedly, blinking a few times.
“You zoned out.” He remarked and I felt guilty about it. “I… I am sorry. I … I had something in my mind.” I replied to him in guilty.
“Darius has a question for you.” Marcus told me with a grim expression.
“Yes, Dr. Stanfield?” I asked him respectfully, looking in his direction.
“Do you know what powers a true omega she-wolf possesses, Ms. Locke?” he asked me and I frowned in confusion.
“An omega is an omega, Dr. Stanfield. There is no special power for them.” I replied to him, but my tone was filled with uncertainty.
"That's where you are wrong, Ms. Locke. I am sorry to scratch your wound, but your mate is the biggest fool in this world who rejected you without knowing that you are a powerhouse."
