Chapter 46 his agree to our proposal

Chapter 46 his agree to our proposal
Amelia’s P.O.V.

“Are you sure, Gamma Edwin?” I asked him in a surprised tone when he informed me that the king and the council had decided to approve our application to grant us a pack, and they asked me for a second meeting this weekend.
I was still too weak to sit up but this news brought a wave of pleasure in my chest, giving me a strength that made me sit up properly.
“Yes, Ms. Locke. This Sunday, around 2 p.m. is suitable for you.” he asked me in the same formal tone that he always used, but his tone was gentle today.
“Of course, Gamma Edwin. Thank you so much for informing me.” I thanked him sincerely. I knew that he would have sensed my excitement in my voice, but I didn’t care.
“One more thing. That very same day, you will also sign the contract of joining King Alexander’s team. He agreed to the method that you guys usually use to add yourself to a werewolf security team.” He added it in the same tone.
I stopped smiling and blinked a few times.
I know that Alexander will not stop chasing me until I agree to be with him.
I didn’t know why, but I knew this in my heart.
This wasn’t a condition to get approval for the pack, but the starting point of the path that will lead me to be his girlfriend in the future.
“Okay.” I still answered positively.
To be honest, his sudden barging in on my life had disrupted my whole plan of revenge, but as his girlfriend, I would have more chances to do what I want to do.
Revenge had never left my thoughts.
“Are you alone?” he suddenly asked me in a hushed tone.
I knitted my brows in confusion.
“Yeah. Do you need to say something important?” I asked him while answering his question in confusion.
“Beta Hunter asked me to convey a message to you.” he told me in the same tone. My back straightened immediately.
“Raymond is coming there with a gift box for you. The box is wax sealed. You will know the content when you open the box.” He added it further in the same tone.
“Do you know what’s in that box?” I asked him curiously.
“No idea, Ms. Locke. You know Hunter. If he doesn’t want to spill a word about what he intends to do, no one can make him say. Not even King Alexander.” He replied to me nonchalantly this time.
I smiled but understood his meaning very well.
“I understand, Gamma Edwin. Thanks for everything. I will be there right on time.” I thanked him again with all my sincerity.
He chuckled before hanging up. I took a deep breath and slowly closed my eyes.
Two days ago, when Hunter left me with Arthur, he promised Arthur that he would find a way to save Xander.
Arthur told me that he looked devastated when he left the hospital, but I never thought that he would really do something to save Xander.
It doesn’t matter if whatever he is sending to me will work on Xander or not.
I am grateful to him for still trying to find something for Xander.
I slowly lay down again and closed my eyes. It was my luck that Hunter’s blood serum worked on Xander and gave him some temporary relief. His vitals are normal for now, thanks to Xander.
“You are looking ready to go now?” I opened my eyes when I heard Marcus’ voice.
“Yeah. Better to leave.” I remarked indifferently and slowly sat up again. He came to the bed and sat down at the edge of the bed in front of me.
“You really scared me to death yesterday, Amelia. You should think about your treatment now. Both Xander and Dana need you. Stay alive. If not for yourself, for the pups then.” He once again said the same thing that he always said to me whenever I had an episode.
But this time, I considered my treatment.
Just like he said….
For both Xander and Dana.
What if Xander gets the cure and survives in the future?
What if everything goes right during Dana’s heart transplant and she also survives?
They will not have anyone to take care of them if I die.
I can’t leave them orphans. As an orphan, I know how cruel this world can be to an orphan.
And I don’t want both of my pups to live that life, not even for a second.
“The king and the council agree to grant us our pack name, Marcus. I am going there for the next meeting on Sunday.” I told him in a light tone, trying to ease his worry.
“What? Really?” he exclaimed in shock, his brows shooting up in excitement.
“Yes, Marcus. Now our people will have a proper home. They will not have to run to save their lives anymore.” I confirmed him, and a wide smile appeared on his lips while his expression remained the shocked one.
“Now we will be able to shed this mark of rogue from us, Marcus. We are about to win this battle.” I was still having a hard time believing it, but I trust Alexander and Hunter on this.
They will never joke about this.
I looked at the door when I heard a knock. The door opened and I straightened my back once again.
“Delta Raymond.” I greeted him formally while Marcus stood up.
“Ms. Locke. How are you feeling now?” he asked me in a concerned voice after greeting me back.
“Much better, Delta Raymond. Thanks for asking.” I politely replied to him with a faint smile on my lips.
“Please call me, Raymond, Ms. Locke. We are going to work together in the future. These formalities are not necessary.” He spoke to me with a cheeky grin.
I smiled awkwardly while looking between Marcus and Raymond. Raymond’s enthusiasm took both me and Marcus off guard.
“By the way. Hunter sent you this for you. He said that you know what’s in this box.” He spoke again while taking a small rectangular box out from his pants pocket.
Marcus sat down at the previous spot while looking at me questioningly.
I didn’t know what exactly was in that box, but I nodded in response and took the box from him.
“Thank you, Raymond. You made this trip here only to deliver this box. I am really grateful to you.” I thanked him properly while clutching the box tightly with both hands.
“Nah, I had to come here anyway. I have some work to finish in the company. You know that King Alexander doesn’t come to the city often. So, either I or Edwin makes trips to the company to keep things afloat.” He was chatty, but I felt that he had no hostility towards us.
He looked at his wristwatch and took a deep breath.
“You rest well, Ms. Locke. We will meet on Sunday again.” He bid his farewell and then walked out of the room after giving a curt nod to Marcus.
