Chapter 100 I Miss You!

Chapter 100 I Miss You!
Two days later, Ruth arrived at the wooden house in the lake and presented Mira the finished version of the contract that Alpha Gideon had discussed with Mira in their chat. He has drafted it and they both agree that his company will shoulder all the expenses, then deduct the entire cost on an installment basis and they will split the net profit in half.
“I can’t believe we finally got a financier who accepted our contract at lightning speed. I’m thrilled and happy beyond words,” Ruth said. Her eyes sparkled with relief and happiness.
“Yes, our prayers were finally answered," Mira replied merrily.
“May I know who is this kind-hearted savior who helps us?” Ruth asked.
Mira whispered in Ruth’s ear, “He is the heir to the throne, Alpha Gideon. He had a private investment fund company called The Equity Fund company that finances big projects. When I submitted our business project to him, he got interested,” she explained.
Ruth’s eyes widened in shock and surprise. “Wow! Amazing! How did you get such a big investor?” she asked, stunned.
“We met in college in the past at the same university. We're not close friends with each other but we have mutual friends and we met at parties before I married my husband. The rest is history,” Mira explained. The rest are true but Luna Amira's and Alpha Gideon’s paths never crossed during her college days in the capital. A white lie is needed to make Ruth believe her claim without revealing too much.
“Fantastic!” Ruth grinned. “An old connection that is very handy today. Now we don’t have to wait for a long time. I’m so elated beyond words. So when can the mining start?” she asked excitedly.
“He and his men will come here to visit our pack and see the site where the minerals were located to take samples and plan the whole mining operation. They will bring several men experts in mining,” Mira explained.
“Great! Then let’s prepare a good place for them to stay while they are here,” Ruth suggested.
“Yes, please,” Mira said, smiling brightly.
The women discussed pack affairs the whole day.
Ruth stayed for dinner at the lake and afterwards she went home.
That night, Mira and Alpha Gideon discussed the entire mining project in chat.
They were chatting about business partners, not lovers.
Alpha Gideon was careful not to call her babe during the entire chat which lasted for two hours. She was also careful not to say I love you to him and avoid calling him babe because he seems too eager to let her know that their relationship is going to be strictly business partners only.
He discussed business-related topics and many more. She could hardly keep up with him.
Then she finally asked the question that she'd been dying to ask him about.
“How is Luna Rosie? Is she okay?” she finally asked.
“Yeah, she’s fine. She told me that she was briefly reborn in a woman’s body but she never told me the woman’s name because she didn't want me to find out about her identity. But I was thinking that when she finally returned to her original body and your soul was gone, I suspected that your soul had transferred into the woman’s body that her soul had vacated,” he said casually.
“You already figured it out too fast?” she said.
"Yeah, the same pattern of the reborn cycle you had with my wife in the past. Am I wrong?” he asked.
“You are right. We switched bodies again. And I can’t blame Luna Rosie. She only wanted you for herself." She sighed heavily. “I really hoped this would be the last cycle of rebirth she and I had to endure because it’s getting crazy and super annoying,” she said wistfully.
“Hopefully so,” he said wholeheartedly, feeling sorry for the ladies' bizarre soul-swapping condition.
Before their chat could go deeper, he finally said, "Alright, as the night is getting late. I’m going to sleep now. Good night,” he said.
“Night night. Sweet dreams," she responded sadly.
Then he finally went offline and didn't say anything more.
She was expecting him to say goodnight babe, but he never did. She was hurt and disappointed by the way he acted. But she can’t blame him though. Their relationship was a big mistake in the first place.
But it’s okay, the success of their business partnership is more important to her than rekindling their old romance. If he wants to move on and avoid getting entangled with her again, so be it. She will do the same.
Although her heart was screaming in pain right now, she could only cry in silence in the refuge of her room.
Tomorrow her break is finally over. She will return to her house in the city to take care of the pack’s affairs on a daily basis.
After brushing her teeth and changing into her pajamas, she went to the window and stared at the full moon glowing brightly in the sky. So beautiful to look at.
She finally closed the window, locked the door of her room and got ready to retire for the night.
She lay in bed and closed her eyes to sleep.
She began tossing and turning on the bed. She couldn't sleep. She kept thinking about her beloved Alpha Gideon. She hoped and wished he would send her a message tonight saying he loved her and missed her so much. But he never did.
She looked at her pet snake. It was already sleeping peacefully beside her on the bed.
She stupidly kept waiting though…
But when it was already 10:00 in the evening and she started yawning, she decided not to wait anymore and closed her eyes to sleep.
The following day.
Mira woke up to a bright new day. She got up from bed, feeling energized.
Alma was already busy in the kitchen preparing breakfast. After breakfast they will return to Moon Star Pack headquarters to face the mounting problems there.
Olga was still in hospital in a coma. She is still fighting for her life.
As for Olga’s minions, she already ordered Ruth to dismiss them from their jobs. She could throw them in the dungeon as their punishment but she had a change of heart because they were just following Olga’s order, hoping that they would change their evil ways when they were looking for a new job outside.
If they don't stop their evil ways and continue to hurt other people, Karma will finally catch up with them in the future.
Mira was strolling outside the wooden house, admiring the clear water of the lake when Alma informed her that breakfast was ready.
She went back to the house and ate breakfast with Alma on the table.
After breakfast they pack their stuff, and return to the city where the Moon Star Pack headquarters were located.
They arrived at the complex safe and sound.
Several folders were already waiting for Mira’s signature in her office. She discussed those documents with Ruth and signed them one by one.
After he finishes signing them, Mira and Ruth discuss the mining project further.
Ruth has already found a suitable place for Alpha Gideon and his entourage to stay. They will rent a two-story house equipped with modern amenities and a swimming pool to please their highly esteemed guests.
Alpha Gideon told Mira that he would sign the contract on the spot once the mining expert gave his verdict.
The whole day passed like a blur.
That night, Alpha Gideon didn't chat with Mira the whole night. He didn't even send her a hello message the entire morning and afternoon.
She was disappointed when he also didn't show up in their chat that night.
Maybe he was busy with family affairs.
She slept early that night with tears in her eyes because she missed him so much.
The following day, Alpha Gideon finally chatted with her after lunch and informed her that he and his five-man team will get on board his family’s private plane this Saturday and they will arrive at the airport at 5:00 in the afternoon.
Mira told him that she would be there at the airport to welcome his team.
After they finished chatting, he no longer contacted her again. She didn't send him any messages as well so as not to put pressure on him.
She will only chat with him if he is the one starting the chat.
She no longer wanted to intrude on his privacy. It’s better this way, since their relationship was strictly for business only.

One week later.
Mira was getting anxious, making herself presentable in front of the mirror, trying to appear dignified and classy, wearing a classy and elegant burgundy blazer and pants, giving her a professional appearance. She is very excited to see her beloved Alpha Gideon again. She misses him so much.
After she finished dressing up, she picked up her purse and left the bedroom. Ruth was already waiting for her outside the room.
“You look fabulous in your suit, Luna,” Ruth commented appreciatively.
“You too!” Mira smiled brightly. “Let’s go!”
She and Ruth left the headquarters and proceeded to the private airport adjacent to the public airport terminal.
In a private hangar.
Alpha Gideon finally emerged from his family’s private jet along with five good-looking men. He was wearing large sunglasses, hiding his eyes.
Mira came forward and initiated a handshake with him. “Welcome to the Moon Star Pack, your highness. Thank you for coming. Welcome everyone,” she smiled broadly at the rest of the men.
“Nice meeting you Luna Amira,” Alpha Gideon responded with a smile, studying her face closely, liking what he saw. Although she looks different now, his heart can still identify the soul within her body, his very sweet Mira. He still felt the same pull towards her — so strong he had to stop gripping her hand and let them go reluctantly.
Mira initiated a handshake with the whole team and smiled graciously, making them feel all welcome in her territory. She also introduced Ruth to them as her trusted right hand.
After a short introduction they proceed to the rented two-story house and have an early dinner there.
They finished their dinner in high spirits and discussed the project for the next two hours.
The couple were finally able to have some alone time away from the group when they both went to the bathroom together.
“Your highness, if you need anything, call or text me. I’ll come running,” Mira whispered in his ears, winking suggestively.
Alpha Gideon chuckled in amusement. “I’ll remember that.”
“So how's the trip?” Mira asked casually.
“Me and the guys were having jet lag. We need to sleep early,” he replied.
“Alright, we are leaving soon,” Mira said, getting his hint.
Then he looked at her, his gaze gentle. “How’s life as the new leader of the pack?” he asked.
Mira sighed heavily. “Very tough. I nearly went crazy trying to solve the pack’s financial problems. Thanks to you, I can breathe easier now,” she said happily, looking at him, her eyes filled with gratitude.
“I’m glad to help you and your pack,” he said sincerely.
“Thank you very much, your highness. God gave me you. I know the pack’s future will be in good hands now that you have taken charge of their future,” she said, feeling a bit sad.
“Why are you looking sad and worried?” he asked, after seeing tears shimmer in her eyes.
“Because you know… it's all about my destiny. I could die at anytime. I might be here today but gone tomorrow. This endless cycle of soul swapping and body swapping is making me crazy. Just in case I die the next day, please take care of the Moon Star Pack for me. I really love staying in this pack and I already embrace my role as their leader, but we both know destiny might have other plans for me. So just in case something bad happens to me, please take care of them, please continue to help them. Promise me please,” she said, begging him to commit for the sake of the struggling pack that she had come to love.
“OK. I promise you. I will personally take care of the Moon Star Pack if you pass away accidentally,” he assured her.
“Thank you so much,” Mira said as huge relief washed over her. If destiny plays a cruel game again and kills her instantly, she will die without worrying about the pack anymore. He finally gave his promise to her. She can die in peace knowing he will continue to help her pack to the best of his ability.
“I want you to promise me one thing as well. If your soul takes over another body, and you need my help, inform me right away. I promise to help you anytime and all the time. Let’s keep in touch as friends,” he said casually.
“Thank you so much, I appreciate it,” Mira said brightly, fighting back tears, feeling sad because he wanted them to only be friends. But it's all for the best.
They gazed longingly into each other’s eyes.
They wanted to hug each other but they couldn't do it because one of the teams might come to the restroom and see them in an appropriate position.
They smiled at each other fondly.
One of these days they will have a serious talk in a place where no one can disturb them.
They finally broke eye contact.
“Alright, let’s get into the restroom,” he said with a smile.
They both entered the separate restroom and did their thing, then Alpha Gideon exited the men’s restroom first and returned to the gatherings in the living room.
Mira stayed inside the cubicle for a long time, trying to compose herself. She couldn't understand why she had suddenly felt sad. Will she die again and be reborn in another body? Why did she feel this way?
No this can’t be!
She’s not done with her mission yet in making the Moon Star Pack great again.
She closed her eyes and uttered a heartfelt prayer, asking God for mercy. “Dear God, please make me stay in Luna Amira’s body for a long time. I'm begging you. I don’t want to die again. I don’t want to be reborn into another body again because I love Luna Amira’s life. It gives me a purpose, a belonging. Please let me stay in this body until I grow old and die. Please grant my prayers and my wishes, God,” she solemnly prayed over and over again.
She takes deep breaths several times and the suffocating anxiety she felt starts to fade away.
Ruth came to the restroom looking for her. “Luna, are you still there?” she asked, knocking on the door of the cubicle.
“Yes, I’m still here. I’m feeling a bit unwell, I felt dizzy a few minutes ago. But I’m fine now,” Mira replied, emerging from the door, wearing a bright smile on her face.
“Are you okay?” Rush asked worriedly.
“Yeah, I feel better now. Let’s go back to the group, bid them goodbye and go home,” Mira said calmly.
“OK, it is time to go home now,” Ruth agreed.
They returned to the living room.
Ruth and Mira finally bid goodbye so the men can rest early after a tiring flight.
Tomorrow they will return here to bring the group to the location of the minerals so the men can take samples and evaluate the value and quality of the minerals.
Mission accomplished, the women left the rented house in high spirits.
