Chapter 101 Love Myself

Chapter 101 Love Myself
The following day.
After lunch, Mira and Ruth returned to the rented house to take Alpha Gideon and his entourage to the exact location of the minerals. The minerals were found inside a cave discovered by villagers living in that area.
Mira and Ruth were both nervous while Alpha Gideon and his team along with an expert in assessing the quality of the mineral were taking samples inside the cave. If they find the minerals poor in quality no contracts will take place that day.
But if the minerals are good quality, they have a contract!
“I’m sweating right now, feeling so nervous,” Mira said anxiously, rubbing her hands together, preventing them from trembling uncontrollably.
“Yeah, me too. My whole body is shaking. I feel like I’m going to die,” Ruth said, sighing heavily.
Mira patted Ruth’s arms gently, comforting her. “Everything will be alright, trust me,” she said, reassuring them both.
The minutes were dragging, every second was suffocating and agonizing.
The women were pacing back and forth outside the entrance of the cave due to anxiety and nervousness.
Finally, after half an hour of nerve-wracking waiting, the results are out. Alpha Gideon and his men emerge from the entrance of the cave with the results in hand.
Alpha Gideon saw the tension on the women's faces. He specifically looked at Mira. “Girls, relax. We have got good news for you. The assessment results for the minerals are excellent. The cave contains huge amounts of mineral deposits that can last for years. Your pack will become wealthy soon. Congratulations, you've got a contract!”
Mira and Ruth’s faces lit up with joy. They broke into a joyous grin.
“Amazing! Thank you so much, guys!” Mira gushed jovially. She was trying hard to control her outburst of happiness. She can’t act like a child going to Disneyland for the first time. She has to act composed and cool in front of everyone.
“Fantastic! I’m so deeply relieved right now." Ruth broke into tears as her anxiety was finally lifted from her shoulder.
Alpha Gideon was happy for Mira. He wanted to give her a hug, but he couldn't do that because that would be awkward. He is a married guy. People might raise an eyebrow if he is seen hugging a Luna from another pack. He has to take care of his immaculate reputation, especially that he is the heir to the throne.
“This calls for a celebration!” Mira said ecstatically.
“We will take you to a place where you can see the beauty of our spectacular beaches,” Ruth said jubilantly.
The women took Alpha Gideon’s entire team to the famous beach for an early dinner.
The beautiful white sand beach boasts a breathtaking picturesque landscape, a majestic mountain backdrop, and an endless blue ocean as far as the eyes can see.
They dined at the beach resort's open-air restaurant.
The group discussed every detail of the mining project, including the infrastructure needed to have a smooth extraction method. The group would also employ pack members residing near the cave to help with the mining operation, giving the entire village an employment opportunity.
After they finished dining in the resort's restaurant they finally returned to the two-story house and both parties signed the contract witnessed by everyone in the room.
The atmosphere in the room was celebratory. Everyone was staring at the staggering profits both parties will gain from the business partnership they just officially concluded.
The men were having fun in the pool, drinking light liquor to celebrate the occasion.
Ruth was busy chatting on her phone on the sofa in the living room, sharing the good news with the rest of the council members.
Mira and Alpha Gideon can be seen talking to each other on the patio, in direct view of the swimming pool.
The couple smiled at each other.
“Wow, I just can’t believe it! We finally signed a contract. It felt surreal! I’m walking on cloud 9 right now,” Mira gushed in elation.
“It’s better to see you happy than to see you sad,” Alpha Gideon murmured in a tone filled with tenderness.
She looked at him. Her face turned serious. “Thank you so much, your highness. Me and my pack owe you big time.”
“Don’t mention it,” he said, smiling fondly at her. “It’s my pleasure to help you and your pack,” he added sincerely.
Mira took a deep breath. “So, when are you going back to the capital?”
“Tomorrow morning at 9:00 is my flight,” he replied.
“And when will you be back here?” she asked.
“I will come here if the team encounters difficulties. If everything is okay, no need for me to come here,” he answered.
“Ah, okay,” she said despondently, feeling disappointed that he wouldn't be coming back anymore. She is going to miss him so much. He obviously doesn't want a continuation of their romance because it shows in his body language.
“We can continue chatting and discussing the business partnership we had in our private chat. You can contact me anytime. We will always be friends with each other,” he quickly added after seeing the sadness and despair flashing in her eyes.
She finally smiled. “I thought you were cutting our only means of communication. Thank you so much. I feel better now.”
Looking deeply into his eyes, she finally asked the difficult question. “This is it? You and I are officially over?"
“Yeah. I promised my wife, you and I would be no more. We can be friends though,” he said, his genuine offer straight out of his heart.
She bit her lower lip painfully as a searing pain shredded her heart into a million pieces. Her eyes went wet.
“You are still young, beautiful and a respectable leader in your pack. Many Alphas from the neighboring packs will be asking for your hands soon. You will have plenty of admirers to make you busy. Don’t cage your heart in love that has no direction. This is for your own good. I only want what's best for you. I hope you understand why we can’t be with each other anymore,” he said softly, hating himself for hurting her badly.
She took a deep breath and nodded her head. “You are right. Thanks for your concern. Thank you for being honest with me. But I have no plans to marry again or get into a romantic relationship with anyone anymore. I will stay single and die single. I will devote my time to the betterment of my pack. I hope I can improve their lives before I die again,” she said in a determined tone.
“No. Please don’t think that way. Don’t be too hard on yourself. Get married and have children. You deserve to live a good life. Soon you will meet a responsible man who will love you and stay by your side unconditionally. You will meet him soon,” he said casually as if he was lecturing a child.
On the other hand he felt glad that she was not planning to marry anyone. But that might change soon once admirers come running to pursue her because her pack will become one of the wealthiest packs in the years to come. Those vultures will definitely come and want to conquer her. He sighed inwardly. He just hoped Mira would end up with an Alpha who genuinely cared for her and her pack’s well-being.
Mira sighed inwardly. It seems it's really over between them, so no need to hold on to a love that was never meant to be in the first place. She can only thank the soul swapping incident for allowing her to have a taste of heaven beside Alpha Gideon even for a short time.
Their romantic relationship was never meant to last forever.
Time to move on.
She stood up. “I’m going home. Happy trip tomorrow,” she said casually, smiling at him with pain flashing in her eyes.
"Let's keep in touch in our chat,” he said, wanting her to know that he will always be a part of his life as a special friend.
“Thank you so much for everything, your highness. I gotta go,” she said and turned around, heading back to the house.
She saw Ruth watching a TV show in the living room.
“Are we going home now?” Ruth asked, standing up.
“Yes. We’re done here. Let’s go,” Mira said.
The women bid goodbye to the men and went home.
That night in Mira’s bedroom.
She was checking her phone, waiting for him to say hello to her in their chat but he never did. He kept his distance and his silence. He severed their relationship in person. In short, it’s over!
No more chance of them being together again in the future.
It’s a bitter pill to swallow.
He chose his wife over her. She can’t blame him though. She was just a passing mistake in his life. He was never meant to betray his wife but the soul swapping incident made it happen. The impossible was made possible.
She lay down on the bed and started crying hard. She muffled her sobs with her pillow, drowning her sorrows.
Their separation hurt her so badly.
She just wants to cry a river tonight and flush out the pain from her system and when she wakes up tomorrow morning she will feel better again.
She let her tears flow, flooding her bleeding heart with grief because she had just lost the love of her life. He abandoned her for all good reasons. She could never compete with his perfect wife.
She can’t bring herself to hate him because he was right, his heart only belongs to his wife. He can’t love another woman now that everything in his life is back to normal.
She continued weeping, crying helplessly. She felt like the world was crumbling around her.
Outside, the rain pours in torrents, joining her in her pain.
At 10:00 in the evening she finally stopped crying because she had no more tears to cry.
She embraced her pet snake and closed her eyes to sleep.
…
The following day, Mira woke up to a beautiful sunny day.
She went to the window and looked heavenward. The sun was already up in the sky, shining brightly. The bright sky cheered her up. Her mood gradually improved as she walked around the room, doing her morning routine.
She will devote her time to making the pack great again. She will not entertain any suitors if they come to court her. She would love herself more.
By loving only herself, no one can hurt her again.
She will enjoy every minute of her single life, and she will become Luna Amira, the great leader of the Moon Star Pack. That is her main goal in life.
For the first time in her life she finally found the perfect place to grow and evolve.
She is a happy camper.
From now on, she will stop obsessing about Alpha Gideon’s messages. If he messages her, great. If not, fine. She wishes him and his wife happiness.
Their painful breakup was for the better. The quicker she accepts it the better for her mental and emotional well-being.
She’s done crying last night.
It's time to move on and focus on the finer things in life.
She received another good news that afternoon. Olga finally died in the hospital. She pushed for a cremation. She doesn't want to hold a proper burial for her. Good thing Olga’s family agreed to cremation.
Thanks to Brownie, all Luna Amira’s enemies were already eliminated. Time for Mira to shine.
…
Meanwhile, at 11:00 in the morning Alpha Gideon finally arrived in the capital on board a private plane and from the airport he went home, straight to the mansion.
His beloved wife Luna Rosie was waiting for his arrival, wearing a bright smile on her face.
He planted a kiss on her lips. “My love, how are you and our baby today?” he asked.
“Pretty fine,” she responded sweetly. “I’m glad you are home now. So how is it? Is Mira the soul inhabiting Luna Amira’s body?” she asked directly.
He shook his head. “No. I think she was the original Luna Amira. I can’t detect Mira in her. And if she is Mira, she would tell me directly.”
Luna Rosie smiled brightly. Ah, okay. Wherever Mira’s soul is right now, I wish her well,” she said sincerely.
“Alright, let’s go to the bed and cuddle for a while because I miss you,” he said, pulling her onto the bed with him.
Luna Rosie giggled happily. Her sweet and romantic husband is truly back!
She was glad that Luna Amira was not Mira. She has nothing to worry about anymore. She can finally sleep peacefully at night because Mira is completely gone from their lives.
She lay down on the bed beside him. “So how's the business going? Did you and your team sign the contract already?” she inquired.
“Yes, it's been a big success. The minerals found in the cave are of good quality. Both parties will earn good profits in the long run. It’s a good investment for us,” he explained, caressing her arms and kissing her head lovingly.
“Awesome!” Luna Rosie feels delighted. Everything is going well on her end. She was able to reclaim her life and reunite with her family at last.
The couple cuddles on the bed, discussing their unborn child and their future plans for their growing family.
Luna Rosie’s mind still harbors tiny doubts. She suspected that Mira’s soul had been transferred to Luna Amira’s body. She will know soon enough. The signs will show themselves.
If her husband kept visiting the Moon Star Pack, then he was lying to her. Mira was reborn in Luna Amira’s body and he deliberately hid the truth from her.
