Chapter 99 See You Again Soon!

Alpha Gideon was on an errand outside the mansion when he received the message from Mira. Initially he doubted its legitimacy, thinking it was a scam but no one knows about the soul swap better than Mira.
He entered a cafe and stared at his phone, waiting for more messages from her. His heart beat rapidly in his rib cage. He never expected that Mira would be reborn again and this time in another body. She mentions Luna Amira in the Moon Star Pack.
While waiting for her message. He quickly researched online the pack’s existence. He learned that it was a tiny pack located at the last frontier of the kingdom in the Eastern Region. There was also news about Alpha Austin’s death two weeks ago. And now the current leader of the pack was his wife, the widow Luna Amira.
He suddenly felt anxious, wondering why she was not sending more messages to him.
To further test the authenticity of her claim, he finally responded to her message and asked her what was the name of the shaman who came to the mansion to perform the soul swap.
She quickly responded by saying… ‘His name was Landorr Ferqen, white long hair, white beard. And in case you want to know, our pet name for each other is BABE and you called me that first. And I miss the bungalow house near the man-made lake. I miss Lena too. I hope she is okay after I left.’
After she mentioned those important things that only she and him knew about, he finally believed her claim that she was indeed the one and only Mira.
But wait a minute…
He had already told his wife that he would never mention Mira’s name anymore, and he would forget her for good.
Of course he won’t reveal to his wife that Mira already contacted her and he knows where to find her.
But the important question is, would he still be interested in seeing Mira in person?
Or maybe it’s better to forget about her and go their separate ways.
But Mira explicitly asked for his help. Maybe she is currently facing a difficult situation and has no one to ask for help from?
Before he decides to cut Mira off from his life forever, he must know why she needs his help.
He typed, ‘What kind of help do you want from me, Mira?’ then hit send.
A few minutes later he received a lengthy reply from her.
‘The Moon Star Pack is near bankruptcy, but has a vast untapped supply of minerals such as Cobalt, Lithium and Copper. Luna Amira’s late husband was a gambling addict and gambled the pack’s money on his vices. The pack‘s coffer is almost empty now. Many people are starving and have no food to eat at their tables. Luna Amira died because the mistress of her husband killed her by staging a hanging suicide attempt in her own room and that was also the moment I entered her body after she died.
'Now that I have inherited the couple's problems, I’m determined to make the Moon Star Pack great again. My team has already applied for the Royal family’s financing livelihood project but we are currently at one hundred and five, at the end of the line.'
'That's a long way to go and before something good happens my pack will eventually go bankrupt. That’s why I contacted you to ask you for a favor. Is there a way we can go ahead on the line?'
'I don’t want to impose anything on you, I’m just desperate.'
'I can’t trust other people and companies. But I can trust your family that you won't take advantage of us.'
'I hope you understand my situation.'
'I’m so sorry I disturbed your peace. I have no one to turn to.’
Alpha Gideon took a deep breath, sighing deeply. He should not get involved with Mira anymore, but something in him stirred. His heart was screaming, forcing him to help her and her pack.
He couldn't understand why…
Or he just doesn't want to acknowledge the fact that Mira still holds a big chunk of his heart. And he was powerless to say no to her.
He finally typed a message, apologizing to her, saying he couldn't do anything to help advance her application because it's a first come first served basis.
With a heavy heart, he sent the message to her.
And she responded with crying emojis and thanked him for responding to her message. Then she wished him well and then that’s it - it’s finally over between them - she finally stopped sending him messages.
It’s over!
It’s finally over between him and Mira.
He finally cut off the last chance at their connection.
But why was he not happy?
Why is his heart hurting?
Did he make the right decision?
‘Is it the right decision?’ He asked himself that question a million times and yet he can't say that it's for the best for the two of them.
Was he in love with her soul? Mira’s soul? What is it about Mira’s soul that captivates him?
He can’t answer it either.
Mira was just a lowly maid in his mansion that he never paid any attention to in the past, until she was reborn in his wife’s body because of the soul swap and he came to love her deeply.
It is kind of surreal that he is in love with a soul. The whole soul swapping incident was bizarre and annoying as hell. It truly happened to his wife and Mira, not a fantasy he created in his mind. The good thing is he and his beloved wife finally came out of that mental fucking dilemma that nearly destroyed their mental health.
He was supposed to feel at peace now that he had finally cut his ties with Mira. He’s doing it to fulfill his promise to his wife. He is not doing it for himself. Because if he is being honest with himself, he still has strong feelings for Mira.
He was supposed to leave the cafe now and go home, but he can’t go home like this, his mind is pretty chaotic.
He ordered dark coffee at the counter, and drank it before leaving the place.
While driving his car on a busy highway, he passed by a public park. He decided to park his car and walk to the park.
While walking in the park, in the shade of the trees, he still couldn't find peace. His mind is still in a jumble.
He felt guilty that he told Mira that he couldn't help her when he knew very well that he was the only person who could help her.
She must be crying now because he hurt her feelings and turned her down. She must be feeling sad and heartbroken.
He sat on the concrete bench under the shade of the tree and closed his eyes for a few minutes, trying to ignore the whispers of his heart.
Should he help her? Or just forget her entirely?
But why did he keep remembering her?
Why did he keep thinking about her?
Why can’t he get her off his mind?
The truth is, he has a private fund company. If he wants to, he can send his men there to the Moon Star Pack to oversee the whole project and finance the mining of the minerals. It will be a good investment for his private fund company since they are always looking for profitable projects to invest in all over the country. Mining minerals is a very profitable business venture and can give his company huge profits and also help Mira and her struggling pack.
If he decides to help Mira, he can hit three birds with one stone. His investment will help Mira, her pack and his company tremendously.
Everybody wins!
And he doesn't have to face Mira everyday to avoid temptation because he has no plans of betraying his wife again. He has no plans of entering into a romantic relationship with Mira in her new body.
After calculating the huge profit margin that the business partnership would bring to his company and Mira’s pack, he finally decided to help her with her financing problems.
After the decision was made, he finally achieved peace of mind.
No more second guessing what to do.
It seems walking in the park helps him achieve the right decision. He was glad that he had dropped by this place. The peaceful atmosphere put his mind at ease.
He removed his phone from the pocket of his coat and typed a message for Mira. ‘I have a private investment firm and I’m willing to finance your project. If both parties agree to the contract, we can mine the minerals ASAP. I will send my men there to your place to make an initial assessment of the quality of the minerals and plan the entire mining operation. My men will handle all aspects of the mining side. You have nothing to worry about. You and your pack are in good hands.’
'Send me all your contract negotiations and I will pick the one that is most suitable for our partnership.’
‘I'm looking forward to a rewarding business partnership with you and your pack, Mira. And don’t forget to send the contracts for me to review them. The sooner the better. Take care. See you soon!’
After he finished typing, he walked back to his car, ready to go home.
When he was about to start the engine, he received a message from Mira. It said... ‘Thank you so much! I appreciate it. I love you so much!’
He groaned as he stared at her last message, tugging at his heart. He read it over and over again. So sweet, it brought tears to his eyes. He was happy that she still loved him and that he loved her as well. His heart wanted to keep loving her forever but his mind disagreed.
Now that everything back to normal in his life, he can’t betray his wife anymore.
He will definitely see Mira in person soon and he will tell her that he is no longer interested in pursuing a relationship with her because he promised his wife he would forget about her.
He released a deep sigh.
Good thing the Moon Star Pack is far from the capital. He would have limited interaction with Mira because he was afraid that if they had frequent contact with each other he might be tempted to pursue a relationship with her given that he still has strong feelings for her.
Despite his worries, he believes everything will be alright.
Mira was his sinful temptation, but it was a manageable temptation. There is nothing to worry about.
He finally started the engine and drove home.

Meanwhile, in the Moon Star Pack territory.
A few minutes earlier…
Mira was crying after reading his message informing her that he couldn't help her.
She was completely devastated. All her hopes were shattered.
She was sobbing hard, because it was so painful that he called her Mira. He no longer called her babe. Her heart died a thousand times and her projects also crumbled to dust in an instant. The disappointment and sadness she felt crushed her to the bones — fat tears rolled down her face in torrents.
How is she going to move on from loving him?
How is her pack going to survive now that the only person she thought could help her has already said no and won't offer help?
And what is she going to do now that the window of opportunity has been slammed shut in her face?
She was swimming in the sea of sadness, desperation and desolation when her phone rang again.
She quickly read the message and it was him. He finally said yes, he is willing to invest in the project and he will send his men to her territory to assess the area and the quality of the minerals.

Fantastic!
She felt so happy that she jumped up and down in elation.
Finally he comes round and is ready to help her and her pack. It was such a tremendous relief for her anxiety-riddled mind.
Now that he is willing to finance the project, her pack is in good hands.
Ruth will be elated if she learns that she managed to find a good investor to fund the pack's project. No more waiting in a long queue, they will be the first to serve.
Oh God! It’s finally happening!
She can't wait to tell Ruth the truth.
Every fiber of her being is vibrating with energy and excitement.
She looked heavenward and said, “Thank you so much to God for not abandoning me. Thank you so much for your help. Thank you so much for this opportunity to be reborn again and make a difference to other people's lives.” She uttered a heartfelt prayer in silence.
She can now feel at peace with herself, looking forward to doing her best to make the Moon Star Pack great again.
All her worries disappeared that night.
During bedtime, Mira was able to sleep peacefully in her bed with a smile on her face. Her heart was filled with gratitude.
Meanwhile, a thousand miles away, Alpha Gideon was sleeping peacefully beside his wife on the bed.
A big part of him is excited to see Mira again.
