Chapter 60 Sixty one

Chapter 60 Sixty one
EMILY’S POV

His own personal guards Emily thought, before glancing at Roman in panic.

He gave a quick nod of assurance, before facing Alpha Castor.

“Thank you Alpha,” Roman says, "it means a great deal to us.”

“Yes, thank you very much.” Emily echoed after Roman.

She didn’t know how they were going to hide who they were going to see from Alpha Castor guards.

And more importantly, she wasn’t sure Anthony would be pleased with the idea of extra people knowing about the cave.

They waited for the warriors to arrive, discussing the research with Alpha Castor.

Not too long after, quite rapping on the door, cut short their discussion.

Roman stood up from his seat, opening the door for two huge guys to walk inside.

This is my private guard Alpha Castor says, gesturing towards the two men standing behind them.

“The red hair is Felix, and the other is Jason. They would both be escorting you guys, and also don’t worry about any expenses, they would take care of that.”

Emily thanked Alpha Castor once more, before greeting the two men behind her.

They nodded at her, their face set in a tight, hard mask.

After discussing a bit with Alpha Castor, they all drove out of the pack.

Emily nervously swiped her hands on her dress, occasionally glancing back at the two silent guys.

“How come I never see you guys around the pack?" she asked, trying to tone down the suspiciousness in her voice.

“We blend in,” the red haired, Felix, grumbled out, his deep voice reverberating round the car.

Emily chuckled awkwardly, glancing at Roman from her side eye.

It was obvious these guys weren’t interested in small talks, and they were almost approaching the meet up location.

Shrill ringing pierced through the silence of the car, while Emily scrambled to bring out the phone ringing from her bag.

“Hello!!” she whispered, before clearing her throat.

“Where are you?” Anthony's voice rings out through the phone.

“Almost there. I have three of my friends with me, I hope that’s alright with you,” Emily says, hoping that Anthony would understand what she was trying to convey.

“Of course!,” Anthony muttered, “he wouldn’t let you guys go without a guard. Don’t worry, I already anticipated that. Stop where I asked you to, my guys will take care of the rest.”

And just like before, he hung up the phone before Emily could say anything else.

Emily groaned, she was going to have a word with him about this habit.

“Everything good?” Roman asked, glancing at her briefly, before facing the road.

“Yes,” Emily answered, “the researcher has assured me that provisions would be made immediately for our guest.”

She glanced back at the said guest, giving them a quick smile.

She only hoped that Anthony had enough sense not to kill them.

They arrived at the meet up point, where a sleek black car was already waiting.

A young man was leaning against the car, a cigarette dangling from his lips.

He raised his head up from his phone, pocketing it, before walking towards them.

“Are you ok?” Roman asked, staring at Emily.

“Yes I am.” Emily answered, before opening the car door.

“Hello!” Emily called out to the guy in front of her.

“Only you will be riding with me,” the guy says, ignoring her greeting, “while your friends follow behind.”

“I'm sorry I can’t allow that.” Roman says, coming to stand beside Emily, their little luggage in his hands. “I must be with her, the two gentlemen behind us can follow instead.”

The guy puffed out the smoke from his mouth, observing Roman with a look Emily didn’t like at all.

Finally, he glanced at Emily who nodded her head, agreeing with Roman, before gesturing for them to follow him.

“Am sorry, but it seems that both of you will have to ride behind us. I hope that’s ok?”Emily asked, turning to face the two guards who were simply observing everything.

“It’s fine,” Jason who had been quiet all this while answered, before taking the keys Roman was already handing him.

Emily waited till they both entered into the car, before walking towards the one she would be riding with Roman.

They rode with the guy who had simply introduced himself as Douglass, when Roman had asked.

He didn’t say much, and neither did them.

Soon enough, Emily could see the entrance to the cave.

They packed their car, everyone getting down from it, before walking towards the cave.

“Where are the guys driving behind us?” Emily asked, she had noticed that the car hadn’t been following them for a while now.

“Still following you,” Douglass says, with a boastful laugh.

“What do you mean?” Roman asked the guy, before exchanging a quick look with Emily.

“Look,” Douglass says, stopping abruptly. “We have our secret, it’s the reason this place hasn’t been found yet. We said we would handle them, so we did.”

He stared at them for a while, before continuing the walk towards the cave.

At the entrance of the cave, guards were stationed about, unlike the last time Emily had been here.

She greeted a few of them, before following Douglass towards the room where Anthony properly is.

Wow!!! Roman muttered, looking around. Emily watched as he took in the sights of the inner cave.

She had seen it before, yet still amazed at how Anthony had managed to turn a cave into something this exquisite.

Douglass took them into a room, the one Emily had stayed at before, before excusing himself.

Emily smiled at Roman, before walking towards the balcony.

She let out a loud sigh, cool cold air permeating into every pore of her body.

“This place is so beautiful,” Roman says beside her, staring down at the crashing waves down below.

“If the Rogues could build something like this, then what do they want with our pack, or the others they keep attacking?” Roman mused out loud.

“I honestly don’t know,” Emily told him, “but my uncle told me that not every Rogue sees eye to eye.”

“He explained that even rogues had their own packs, with their own agenda and way of life.”

Roman shook his head in bafflement, before turning to face her.

“You know he can’t harm those guards right?” Roman told her, speaking about her uncle. “Not only will that raise suspicions, but I believe Alpha Castor has another backup and plan.”

“I am sure that if anyone knows how Alpha Castor thinks, then it should be my uncle.” Emily told him, shivering slightly.

“I think we should go inside,” Roman told her, “we don’t want you getting a cold with everything going on.”

Emily nodded her head, before following Roman inside.

Immediately they got back into the room, a sharp knock rapped on the door.

Come in, Emily called out, taking the jacket Roman was offering her.

The door opened, with Anthony entering inside, and another face Emily wasn’t familiar with, but the striking resemblance told Emily everything she needed to know.

He was her second uncle, the one Anthony had mentioned about.

“Oh! my, look how big you have grown,” Anthony says, before walking towards her.

They shared a quick hug, Emily laughing at his comments.

“It’s nice to see you too,” Emily says.

She glanced towards Roman intending to introduce him to her uncles, but he was already striding towards her.

He dragged Anthony away from her, his hands against his throat.

“Who are you?” Roman screamed at him, “what are you both playing at?”

Bewildered, Emily ran towards Roman, trying to pry his hands away from her uncle's neck.

“Enough!! Roman,” her other uncle bellowed. “I see you haven’t changed one bit," he says, before walking towards Emily.

“Hello!” he says, extending his hands out to Emily.

“My name is Castor, and I have been expecting you.”

Emily shook his hand, confused about what was going on.

“Can someone explain what is going on?” She asked, glancing at a fuming Roman.

“It’s nothing,” Anthony says, rubbing his neck. just old friends, meeting again after a long time.

“I am not your friend,” Roman spat out harshly.

Emily I think we need to leave, he says, dragging their luggage from the bed, before also dragging her towards the door.

Before we could get to the door.

Roman is thrown back, his back hitting the wall, while Emily watches wide eyed as Castor jumps on him, holding him down.

Nobody leaves.

Castor growls out.

His deep voice, reverberating round the room.
