Chapter 34 CHAPTER THIRTY FIVE
ROMAN’S POV
“What?”
“Stop playing,” I told Emily or Chiara. Emily’s wolf is suppressed, “so how can you be her wolf?”
I had to fight to be here Chaira says, looking at me affectionately. I need to tell you something Roman, I don’t have a lot of time.
“What is it?” Roman asked.
Emily, Chaira says, you need to help her connect to her wolf. Only then will she truly be complete, your mate bond, it’s buried. She won’t be able to completely and fully mate with you, till her being is completely united.
“Where is Emily?”Roman asked, trying to understand what was really going on.
“Asleep for now,” so this conversation is between the both of us. When she wakes up, she won’t remember.
“How does it feel?” Roman asked, as he watched Chiara retract her claws before bringing it out back.
“Suffocating,”she answered. I am not totally buried like intended, because you guys saved me on time.
Those people that did these, “do you know them?” Roman asked Chaira.
I!! She paused, looking at Roman. She is waking up, she said, please Roman find a way to unite us.
“I will,”Roman says, "I will try my best.”
Chaira smiled at him, giving him a brief kiss, before falling unconscious in his hands. Roman sat there stunned, unable to comprehend what just happened.
Aww, my head, Emily mumbles as she slowly wakes up. She blinked, looking at Roman before raising her head up from his shoulders. “What happened?” She asked him, looking around.
Roman glanced at her, unsure. As much as the council had allowed Emily to stay at his pack, he was sure that something like this would jeopardize everything.
Something like this was for only him to know, not even Emily.
“You fell asleep," he told her, starting the car as he slowly drove around. He glanced at his phone that had been ringing nonstop, knowing he was going to be in trouble for missing football tryouts.
“Oh,”Emily mutters, "I don't remember falling asleep," she says, scratching her head.
“What do you remember?”Roman asked her.
I remember feeling angry, and then walking out of the school cafeteria. Then, Calvin stopped me, and I don’t know, everything is just blank from there on.
“Oh, ok. "That Calvin guy are you guys dating?” Roman asked slyly,
What!! No, Emily says, blushing. “Why would I date him?”
Roman, smiled. He turned his face towards her, taking her hands in his while the other controlled his steering.
“Where are we driving to?”Emily asked him, looking down at their clasped hands.
Nowhere in particular, “do you want to go back home?”
“No, can we go get something to eat, please?” Emily pleaded.
Roman drove to a quiet restaurant, packing his car, before going inside the restaurant. He got food for both himself and Emily, before going back to his car.
They found a quiet place to park, discussing as they ate their food. His phone rang again, this time it was Bella.
“What is it?” Roman asked, immediately he answered his phone.
“Where are you?” Bella whispered.
“Tryouts,” he replied, lying through his teeth.
“Stop lying.” I know you are not at tryouts, so does dad. “Why have you not been picking his calls?”
Shit!! Roman mutters. I am on my way, he says simply, before ending the call.
“Is everything ok?” Emily asked.
Sure, just my dad. I am going to drop you a little bit farther from the house, Roman told her, then wait for a while before coming home. He started the call, before driving off.
He dropped Emily a bit closer to the house, watching as she walked home. He gritted his teeth in anger, wondering when all these would end.
After waiting for a while, chatting with Stefan a bit, he drove home. Entering inside, his mum was sitting on a stool, her hands resting on the kitchen counter, discussing with his dad. Roman rolled his eyes, knowing he was their topic.
“Hey mum,” he greeted, nodding towards his father in greeting.
“Where were you?” His dad asked, crossing his hands over his chest.
“Out with Clara?” he says.
“You left your training to hang out with a girl?” his father asked.
“What do you want from me dad?” Roman asked tiredly. I do everything you want, school, training, reading and training to be a beta, staying away from Emily. “What else do you want?”Roman screamed.
“Watch how you talk to me,” his father growled.
Samuel, his mother, called, resting her hands on my father clenched one’s. You need to see where he is coming from, maybe allow him, do stuff he wants too once in a while.
“And hanging out with girls, is that what he wants to do?”
“You think I don’t know what you and Stefan get up too?”Huh.
Roman sighed, there was no use talking to his father. The man only had what he wanted to, anything else he ignored.
“Can I go to my room?” he asked.
His father simply brought out his phone, showing him a picture.
Roman gasped at the sight of Emily, on top of Calvin. “Are you stalking her?” he asked, in pure rage.
“What the fuck is wrong with you?” Roman sneered out.
“His father punched him,” blood dripping from his nose at how hard the punch had been. I said, don’t talk to me like that.
Roman growled at his father, resisting the urge to punch him back.
Samuel enough, his mother shouted, rushing over to Roman, tissue paper in her hands as she helped him clean the blood.
“How long?” his father asked him, “how long have you been hiding her violent nature. I warned you about what would happen, didn’t I?”
“Violent?” Can’t you see she was clearly defending herself, “what, did you expect her to simply lie down there, why others bully her.”
“Bully?” His mum spoke up, “have they really been bullying her?”
“Yea,” Roman says. Sure they had bullied her earlier when she just started schooling. Someone had spread a rumor, about her being cursed. Of course immediately Roman had it, he had tracked those responsible down and dealt with them. Since then, no one dares mess with her.
Still, his parents didn’t need to know that.
“We didn’t know about that”. His mum says, sitting down on their living room couch.
“So how do you explain this?”his father says, showing him pictures of him and Emily.
I!! dammm!! Roman didn’t know how to get out of this one, the evidence that he had secretly been meeting Emily, in his father’s hands.
Why can’t you stay away from her his father barked at him, how hard can it really be. I am starting to think that what Elijah said was true, ever since she came, you have not been behaving like my son.
Samuel, don’t say that, it’s just like having a crush, you know how you were with me. I am sure he is going to get over her once he starts dating. “That Clara girl, why don’t you invite her over?” His mum says, trying to be supportive, but making it ten times worse.
It’s not a crush, and nobody else is for me but Emily, he says.
“Why Roman, why her?” his mother asked.
Because she is my MATE Roman screams, silencing everyone.
