Chapter 113 Chapter 113
VLADIMIR -
It was another day to just torture Keegan and watch him die slowly. The pleasure I derived from rubbing it in his face that he was so weak right now and I was just a step closer from dominating and being the new strongest Alpha again.
"What exactly would you gain?" He asked, his voice was extremely low with his head hung low as well.
"Revenge and power."
"I don't know what you might've been fed with, but I just realized that there had been no reason for you to have started hating me when we were younger. We were so close with Scarlett and...." He trailed off and started coughing.
The fact that he was playing dumb was really pissing me off. He had been the cause of my mother's death and had always been against my success. I had been raised to hate him, so of course, I couldn't let him try to convince me with his words when I was really close to achieving my desire.
Where the hell was Dad? I had been trying to reach out to him towards our final attack against Dark Stone. Pack. Now that Jane was back with newly discovered gifts, I heard that she had restored the pack members to consciousness and was planning something big.
I suddenly heard Dad's voice and when I wanted to walk up to him, Kate's voice made me stop in my tracks. Why'd he be talking to her?
I peeked through and saw him with her, not frowning or acting like he was about to kill her, but he was smiling with her.
"So you can have a lot of rogues that aren't from the witches community attack them?" she asked.
"Of course. And with that stupid Omega's newly discovered gifts, I'll have to be extra careful so we can kill he without stress and gain what we both need from her." Dad said.
Why the hell would he want to kill Jane? He had assured me that he was going to make sure she was alive so I could have her.
"I just have to figure out a way to not let Vladimir know that she died in my hands. You know this craziness with wanting her?" He rolled his eyes.
"That isn't a big issue for you. You've lied to Vladimir his whole life. This should be an easy pass." She shrugged
"What do you mean by lied to him?" he narrowed his eyes at her.
"Don't try to play smart with me." She said, inserting her cigarette into her mouth. "Do you think I have no idea about how you lied to him about us killing his Mom just so he didn't suspect that you did that out of your madness? And the series of lies you told him just to fuel up his hatred against Keegan as much as yours?"
I expected him to be mad at her but he only smirked. "Pretty smart woman, uh?"
"He's not an issue. Just focus on getting rid of Jane." She plucked the cigarette from her mouth.
I was still completely frozen as I walked into the room and sat on the bed.
"What's wrong?" Chloe asked and hurried to stand in front of me.
"Please stay away." I said emotionlessly, unable to catch my breath. I was in awe, unsure of how to react to anything at all.
"Please be calm and talk to me." She cupped my face.
I felt calmer by her touch and locked my eyes with hers. "Dad also betrayed me. He killed Mom and he lied against Keegan. No one can be trusted." I shook my head from her hand, running my hand over my head with my face reddened as I smashed the vase off the nightstand. "No one can be fucking trusted! How can Dad betray me? What have I done?"
"Please be calm." Chloe said, her eyes were ringing with fear and concern.
"What if I'm making a mistake by killing Keegan? What if I'm being ridiculous by trying to fulfill Dad's desires?"
"You definitely are." She held my shoulders again. "I don't know why it took you this long to realize what a terrible man your father is, but right now, I'll advise you to do what is right and just let peace reign. No one has been at ease since the series of attacks recently. Just be calm and try to make the right decision." She cupped my face again. "Know that I'll always be here for you, I'll support you and never betray you."
\- JANE -
I had been able to revive the pack members back to life. It has made me very exhausted but everyone was back to consciousness and we had to work together to try to restore the pack to order.
Ivy and Renee walked into my office. They were the members from the new pack we formed an alliance with; Ivy could see visions and Renee was great at providing solutions to problems.
"Luna Jane," they echoed with a bow.
"Good evening. Is there any issue?"
"Yes. I feel really strange and I can sense that danger is coming upon this pack pretty soon." Ivy said at the same time Scarlett, Shane, and Mason walked in with Rylee lurking behind them.
"It's great you're here." I said to them. "I've been feeling really strange recently and having strange visions about an attack, but because I didn't want to raise fall alarms, I thought it could be out of my fear, so I've been trying to think deeply in order to confirm it. However, Ivy just confirmed that she had a vision about an attack. We'll have to be well prepared."
"How can we be certain it's not the Ardolfs again?" Shane asked with his eyebrows drawn together.
"Exactly! They almost took everyone's life again."
"My parents have been trying their best to make things up and are trying to work together with us to make things right."
"It's not the Ardolfs, according to my vision, it's from external forces, and mainly Stefan, Alpha Keegan's father." Ivy said.
"I believe a solution can be derived from total co-operation." Renee added.
"Mason, please arrange a general meeting with the entire pack members." I said and rose to my feet.
"Okay." He bowed his head then took his leave.
"Shane, arrange for the guards to protect everyone during the meeting." I ordered.
"Okay," he said before reluctantly adding, "Luna" He took his leave afterwards.
"And Scarlett, please call your parents to head over. We need as much help as possible."
"Okay." She nodded then also took her leave.
"You can leave now. Thank you." I said to Ivy and Renee then they took their leave.
"Jane," Rylee walked up to me and hugged me. "I'm so scared right now."
"Don't be. Everything will be fine." I began to stroke her hair.
"I really hope we can find Keegan soon."
"Me too." I sighed.
After Mason had called everyone for a general meeting, I had to step up and address everyone as their luna for the first time. My palms were sweaty and I felt a bit shy to speak to so many people at once.
"Beloved pack members, I'm glad for your gathering here today. The main purpose of this gathering is to let you all know that we need to work together to find our Alpha. He has been missing for days now without any sign.
"We'll have to work harder and smarter for a more effective search. Your family members abroad , call everyone to return to the ack if they can and let's cooperate in a non-stop search for Keegan."
When I observed they were all nodding in affirmation, it made me feel at ease.
"Secondly, we'll have to prepare against an upcoming attack from Stefan. Intense training will begin and we'll stop at nothing till we regain our victory and set things back to order. Do we all agree to work today?"
"Yes, Luna." Everyone echoed.
I nodded with a small smile, glad I had enough encouragement. With everyone's support, it was going to be easier to find Keegan. I really hoped he was safe.
I noticed Mason suddenly started running away.
I glanced around to observe any attack but there was no strange sign, so I resumed my speech.
\- MASON -
'Crystal is having an emergency delivery!' Someone exclaimed in my head.
'Where is she?'
'At the pack hospital!' The woman replied.
I had to quickly leave Jane's announcement and hurry to the hospital.
"Where's my wife?" I asked the only nurse at the hospital and she stared at me in confusion.
There was barely anyone in the hospital since almost everyone was in the general meeting, so Crystal's groaning echoed in the hospital. I quickly ran upstairs and followed her groaning to a room.
I burst into the door and she was surrounded by a few health Workers with her legs spread apart and she had different tubes connected to her.
"Crystal," I quickly hurried to sit beside her, holding her hands.
"Oh my gosh, Mason, I can barely breathe." She said, panting and let out a deep groan again.
"You'll be fine. Don't worry." I rubbed her palm and placed a kiss on her forehead as encouragement.
She was very sweaty as she held onto my hand really tight. Her face contorted as she groaned in pain.
"Just a little more." The nurse said.
"I can't do this." She panted.
"You can, please, you'll be fine." My heart was beating really fast as she groaned with tears rolling down her face. It felt like I could feel her pain.
"She probably had something to eat or inhaled something terrible because her body is filled with something toxic." The doctor said as they attached an extra tube of medication to her.
"What the hell do you mean?" I didn't mean to yell.
"Please be calm or you'll have to leave." The doctor warned. Her tone wasn't rude but it pissed me off and my heart was racing way faster.
"Please be fine, okay?" I still rubbed her hand with my shaky hands.
Her delivery went on for hours and I watched as her condition became even more terrible. The toxic substance in her body had triggered her labor and was affecting both their lives, they even had to call an extra doctor and more nurses. According to them, a C- section was going to activate the toxin even more and could lead to loss of both their lives, so a natural birth was the only option.
I held onto her really tight, trying to be of best support as much as I could.
"You'll be fine."
Crystal groaned once more and I heard the cry of a baby.
I jerked upwards in celebration as our baby was brought out of her.
Crystal held my hand again, still panting. "Is it a boy or a girl?" She asked in a very faint voice.
"It's a boy." The doctor said and placed our son on Crystal's chest.
She smiled then placed her index finger between our little bundle of joy's small hand then chuckled.
"Isn't he so handsome?" My vision became blurry with tears at how cute our baby boy was.
"Of course, he is." She chuckled again with tears in her ears. "Her condition is deteriorating. Tell Dan to bring more doses!" The doctor said as the machines started beeping.
I was so perplexed. How could her condition still be deteriorating?"
What's going on?!" I exclaimed, my heart beat rate increased again. The doctors and Nurses were running around to attend to her.
Crystal held my hand and kissed it. "Please take care of our son, okay?"
"No, shut up. Nothing would happen to you, we'll take care of him together." I shook my head, holding her really tightly.
"I love you, Mason, I always will." She said then her hands fell from mine and she exhaled deeply as her eyes closed, letting the tears roll from her shut eyes. The machine started beeping loudly and the Doctors and nurses stayed still with disappointment in their eyes.
"No, Crystal, it's not possible. What happened?!" I yelled at them.
One of the nurses carried our baby from her chest and I observed she was no longer breathing.
"Please don't do this to me, Crystal." I screamed with tears rolling down my face. "We've struggled together and we have to raise our son together and grow old together. Please, I love you!" I cried but she wasn't responding to me.
"Please." I begged her and buried my head on her chest and cried my eyes out as the nurses tried to console me. My mind was going crazy, I was hoping it was a dream I was going to wake up from.
~ KEEGAN ~
I had tried my best to be free from this bondage and try to escape but it was all to no avail.
Dad was planning a really terrible attack on my pack and I was scared that they weren't going to be able to handle it since they wouldn't be expecting it.
I had overheard that Jane had gotten her gift and I was so proud of her but I hoped she was able to secure the pack in place. I wondered if she was back at Dark Stone or still stuck with those Ardolfs.
I had no idea on what to do.
I was at the weakest point of my life and it didn't seem like help could come to me.
One of the men walked into the room in their completely protected outfit then extended a glass to me.
Water! I could finally have water?!
I desperately let him pour the water down my throat and it made me feel so refreshed.
He stepped back then stared at me. I wondered what the hell was going on till I started feeling knots in my stomach.
I was too weak to let out a groan so my cry of pain was muffled internally.
The weakness in me worsened and when my body couldn't take it anymore, I collapsed against the chains and darkness overtook me.
\- JANE -
"Everyone. Stay in position. We can never be top prepared for this attack." I said to everyone.
"I've had a vision of how the attack will be and as long as you can all follow my instructions, we should be able to conquer Stefan and find Keegan immediately.
Everyone nodded then switched to their wolf forms and wore wolf- designed chest plates for protection and to prevent physical damage.
Mom, Dad, and other witches were in position assist with any attack that was beyond natural. I was glad I had their full support with no sign of betrayal from them. Pack members that were currently out of town had all come back to offer their support: the old Beta -The Andersons-Ava, Evan, Ava's parents, and many more old and returning pack members, so they were of great support and the cooperation among the pack members was very encouraging.
'We'll have to fight to win and nothing else. Just be alert.' I linked everyone and they nodded their heads.
I shut my eyes and could sense that they were very close by.
"They're really close by. Everyone should be attentive.' I ordered in the link.
A while later, a mass of wolves ran towards us. When they spotted us in full position, they came to a halt, clearly in shock to see us prepared.
'Any movement from them and you attack immediately.' I ordered in the link.
Stefan's wolf was right in front of the multiple rogues, just like I had seen in my vision. They looked confused, like they weren't certain of what to do or what we were going to do.
The moment they took a step forward, my pack members immediately charged at them and with the protective chest plates, we were able to attack a lot of the rogues, killing and injuring as many that came our way.
It didn't take a few minutes till Dark Stone pack members were able to either severely injure or kill the wolves as so many rogues laid on the ground.
I suddenly felt a strange type of weakness and was panting abnormally. 'Any of our pack members hurt?' I asked.
'I just have a scratch.' Someone replied.
'And I hit my head against a rock, but not with severe damage.' Another person replied.
'Okay, seek immediate attention. Anyone else?'
'No, I don't think so, but Luna, where is their leader?' A female voice rang in my head.
I stared around and noticed Stefan wasn't anywhere in sight.
'No way! We have to find him in order to find Keegan.' I announced and panic rested in me.
'Vera, how do we find him?" I asked her.
She shut her eyes then I could find a picture of Stefan running away.
I immediately started following the direction in my head, running faster than I ever thought I could run.
I caught up with Stefan then immediately pounced on him.
"Where is Keegan?" I growled at him
"And what benefit will it be to tell you?" His tone was very sinister and that pissed Vera off.
"Tell me where the hell our mate is or you'll take the risk of having your head ripped off!" Vera barked at him.
He pushed me off his body and resumed running.
I caught up with him again and forcefully pushed him. He fell against a hard tree and it seemed to have broken his leg from the way he was groaning.
"Where is Keegan?" I threatened again, drawing my lips into a snarl.
"Regardless of whether or not you kill me, Keegan would still remain the weak and useless good-for-nothing idiot he was born to be. By the time you go to him, he'd have been dead." He said and made an expression that'd have definitely been a smirk if he was in his human form.
I growled again and stomped on him, biting his back really hard till I could feel Vera's teeth being dug into his bones.
He growled as well and managed to push me off, managing to rise to his feet while limping with the broken leg.
"Just tell me where Keegan is right now!" I demanded.
"I'd rather die than let you know." He said and stormed towards me.
He was trying to connect something that almost looked like a gun into me but I pushed him away.
'It's a potion to get rid of our gift and take our lives, we'll have to be careful.' Vera warned and I nodded.
He charged towards me again and tried to bite the nape of my neck but I pushed him off even harder.
The force at which I pushed him made him hit his head with a loud band. I stood back up, growling at him when I realized that he was no longer moving and I couldn't see his wolf's chest rising and falling, he was no longer breathing.
"Stefan?" I shook him, whimpering.
After a while of trying to get him to stand back, I let it dawn upon me that he was dead and took him back to the pack by dragging him with my teeth.
I dropped him in front of everyone, panting.
A few of the guards came to me then obviously realized that he was dead; they helped me get rid of his body.
Everyone was staring at me with confused gazes and it made my heart beat faster. 'Switch back to human form and prepare for a general meeting.' I linked them.
They all nodded and everyone scattered into different positions.
I left and switched back before slipping on a dress and left to anchor the general meeting.
I started with a very deep sigh. "It was accidental but I killed Stefan because he tried to attack my life. Now I feel terrible, how are we supposed to find Keegan?" I lifted my nervous gaze everyone, expecting angry faces or yelling about how I was a terrible Luna but their faces were filled with nothing but sorry and pity.
"It's okay, Luna, we'll still find him." Someone took me aback by mentioning that.
"Yes, we've all done our best and we'll stop at nothing till our Alpha is found again." Another person replied.
I glanced around as positive mutterings continued and it made a proud smile form on my face.
"Thank you, thank you so much for your support." I was genuinely glad to finally have these grumpy members support. I couldn't tell whether it was because I had healed them or tried to save their Alpha, but I appreciated being loved and supported.
"We'll have to extend our destinations to search harder for Keegan. I've been trying my best to have a vision or guide to his destination, but to no avail. Keegan must be found and be saved. We'll have to put our best to it."
After addressing them for a while more, I dismissed everyone and started heading back to the pack house.
"Jane, Mason is nowhere to be found and neither is Crystal." Scarlett said, walking beside me.
"Is he fine?" I quirked an eyebrow at her.
"I have no idea. I think-"
"Beta Scarlett," Shane called.
She turned to him with a nervous chuckle. "Hey, do you need anything?" "Yes, I need your attention at the ..." he coughed the last word out. "Oh, okay." She nodded. "I'll talk to you later, Jane."
I wondered what the hell that was for and continued walking. When I glanced back, I noticed him curl an arm around her waist and place a kiss on her cheek before they took a turn.
So they're now together? When did that happen? That was such great news for me because I didn't have to bother about a psycho pestering my relationship.
'I miss Keegan so fucking much.' I cried to Vera.
'We'll have to find our mate. Who knows what he's going through now?'
I have no idea how we're going to find him, and Stefan's words scare me.'
'It'll be fine.' She assured me.
"Psst, Jane?" Someone whispered my name.
I glanced in the direction of the voice and spotted Chloe a few feet away.
My lips spread apart into a smile as I headed to her. "Chloe, what brings you here?"
"Vladimir was supposed to come in my stead but he believed the pack members might hate him and try to attack him, so he sent me here instead. I know where Keegan is, I'll take you to him. The guards aren't letting him in anymore because they know his attitude has changed."
"Where is Keegan?"
"Just gather your strongest members and strongest guards and I'll take the lead. Please hurry up, Keegan doesn't have much time left, he might've been poisoned by Stefan."
"Poisoned?!"
