Chapter 112 Chapter 112
When I arrived at dark stone, my heart dropped to the ground as I saw so many people lying on the ground, looking so lifeless.
If their chests weren't still rising and falling, I'd have thought they were dead.
What the heck happened?
I nudged Mae's wolf, no movement, I also tried to move Scarlett and Mason's wolf but neither of them were responding to me.
I searched around those in either their wolf form or human form lying on the ground, but there was no sign of Keegan around them and that made my heart start beating really fast.
'Where the hell are my parents?' I asked Vera.
'Let's just search around.' She responded.
I decided to search the entire town for my parents or Vladimir or at least a sign of Keegan. As I went around the entire pack, it was dead silent, confirming that no one was conscious.
I even returned to the pack house and the members in the pack house were also lying unconscious, other people's houses had their doors broken or feeble door locks with unconscious people in it.
The terrible smell of the atmosphere made me conclude that something was sprayed to make everyone insentient.
When I had searched around, yet no sign of any conscious werewolf or my parents, I switched back to my human form and got into a dress from one of the tree barks.
I didn't know what to do. I tried waking either Mason, Keegan, Shane, Rylee, Scarlett, or any pack member up again but to no avail.
Completely clueless, I fell to the ground, just staring at everyone, trying to think of what to do.
I was such a terrible Luna. I couldn't save my pack members or be of help to anyone when they needed it.
I shut my eyes and I felt a warm, flowing feeling in my body. It made me think deeply and I had a slight vision of my parents being around a corner.
I had no idea of the place I had just seen them in but a jerk in me awoke and it felt like I was being led somewhere beyond my ability as I started walking.
'We now have the power to see visions and the power of direction.' Vera explained, clarifying my confusion.
'Oh.'
It took a while till I finally stopped in front of a small wooden building I had never seen before in my whole life.
Completely confused on what to do, I knocked on the door.
The door automatically opened and I stepped into the room. Mom, Dad, and Freya were in front of an old hag. Her skin was dark, almost looking green, she was in a cloak that covered her entire body except her face and hands, her hands and face were so wrinkled and scary.
They all lifted their gaze to me and Mom's face was filled with so much fear as she held onto a really large and old-looking book.
"Oh, here she is." The hag said, her voice was croaky and as scary as her appearance.
I stepped closer to them with narrowed eyes. "Mom, Dad, what's going on? What did you do to my pack members?" I asked with my eyebrows pulled together, my jaw had tenses up and my hands were balled into fists.
"The girl has finally gotten her gift." The hag said and tried to touch me but I stepped back. For some reason, she found that funny and chuckled.
"What do you have to say?" Dad asked the woman.
"Be patient, Mr. Don." She chuckled again, wrapping a bag made of sack around her waist.
The entire room was dark and there was a large pot of bubbling potion in front of her.
"Now that the girl has her gifts, Kate has no other option and will have to die. I don't know what means she'll die by, but she will."
"So Kate is behind locking her gift?" Mom asked, dropping the old book
"Of course, you idiots. Didn't you understand from the hint I gave you? She framed her son to try to save her ugly ass from her wrath. She killed Jess, took over your land, lied to everyone, and when you all tried to take your revenge, she painted you as the traitors. Because of a risky step she had taken, she needed such great power to maintain her life, so she has trapped Jane's gift." She said moving the stick in her hand around really slowly.
"How are we supposed to trust this Hag?" Freya asked with a frown." She's simply being ridiculous."
"Why won't you trust me?" The hag lowered her eyebrows.
"Cara, Don, don't let her get into you. You're crying already?" she said to Mom with a contorted face. "We're this close to achieving our goal after so many years. We're going to be taking over Dark Stone and finally be in full control again. What if this is planned just to make us quit from our goal?"
"I've helped Kate all these years. Who else would have a power so strong that'd conquer the mighty Ardolfs if not me? Open the book." She said.
Mom reluctantly opened the book and there were so many photos of me as a child in a cage with Kate standing over me and as Mom flipped the book, there were so many writings of Kate where she wrote her plans to be in control and her vow to the hag.
"How can any mother be this terrible to try to destroy her son like that?" Mon frowned.
"If Kate truly killed Jess and has been behind all these, then I would stop at nothing to make sure she's dead." Dad said, his veins had popped out of his neck in fury.
I was so perplexed, just staring and wondering what the hell was happening.
"I still don't think we should trust her." What was Freya's damn problem? "What if this is just a trick from Dark Stone, uh?"
"We're similar creatures. We're all witches, you should trust me more. Plus, you know we hags only do things for an advantage. Now that Kate is dying, she'll be useless to me so I'd get nothing. I can still keep you with me to get a reward. I've helped Kate seal the border and try to create an imposter to look like Keegan. I can be of help to you, but of course with benefits.
"Your daughter, Jane, she has the gifts of healing, vision, speed, destination determination and most importantly, strength. Her strength would make her undefeatable, and being with a family of such a person would be of greater benefits than being with Kate." She said in a low chuckle.
"If you choose to ignore my words, Kate would stop at nothing to kill Jane. She's after her life.
"What do you mean by after my daughter's life?" Dad asked, clenching his fists.
"Oh, you'll find out. I've delivered my message. I have to go now." She said, laughing like a maniac, then as she waved her cloak over her, she was suddenly not anywhere in sight anymore.
I glanced around, confused as to where she vanished.
"I feel so terrible right now." Mom said to me, finally acknowledging my presence. "Kate had even tampered with your memory, that's why you completely forgot us." She cupped my face, tears still danced in her eyes.
"What's going on? Who is she?" I asked again, shaking her hand off my face, maintaining the sternness on my face. "Where is Keegan?"
"The Hag is one of the most powerful witches; we met her Dark Stone and she had something to say because she's an old friend of your grandmother, so we got here and she just explained the truth behind Jess' death and our long-term misconception against Keegan and his pack. I really have mixed feelings about this."
"What mixed feelings? Just because a disgusting hag said some words, will we let it affect our long-term goals?" Freya asked.
"There'll be no point in destroying the pack for Kate's foolishness." Mom frowned back at her.
"We're not just doing it for revenge, we also need to exert control, to have full dominance over the largest pack."
"You're only being ridiculous! Where is Keegan?!" I yelled at them.
"Keegan is with Stefan. He said he'll exert the worst punishment on him." Dad said.
"If Keegan is as innocent as the hag claims, then we have to get him back. Stefan is definitely going to kill Keegan." Mom's eyes were immediately filled with panic.
"If anything happens to Keegan, I'll not forgive either of you." I grunted. "If only you had just listened to me, none of these would have happened!"
"Hang on. We'll call Stefan right now."
"Are you being serious right now?" Freya scoffed.
They ignored her and Dad called Stefan. "Stefan, where is Keegan?"
He asked immediately he answered the call.
"Foolish Ardolfs, did you think you could just get away with trying to deceive me? L" He barked over the phone and that made my heart start racing again.
"What do you mean?" Dad asked him with puckered eyebrows.
"You lied about giving Jane to us!" He hollered. "How dare you try to lie to Stefan Gray?! No one is getting Keegan. The idiot is not going to be alive sooner than you think." He ended the call.
"What the hell just happened?" Dad's eyes were widened in awe.
"What are we going to do now? Keegan mustn't die." My chest was rising and falling way faster and my body became sweaty.
"I won't let you ruin things for me. Good luck having your gift, Jane." Freya said, glaring at me and stormed out of the wooden house.
"This is all your fault!" I hollered, pointing my index finger at them.
"Be calm. Nothing will happen to Keegan." Mom tried to hide her fear but her shaky hands betrayed her. "Keegan is the strongest werewolf alive, Stefan is no match for him."
"Your Mom is right. Right now, you'll need more backing. Since the Hag said you have healing power, you have to revive the pack members. We'll try our best to be of great support to you and find Keegan really soon. Just be calm and breathe." Dad said.
\- KEEGAN-
My strength was so drained. I didn't know how long it was but my hands and feet had been chained with such strong chains that I couldn't break and was dipped in liquid wolfsbane, the strongest substance that every werewolf dreaded.
My whole body was filled with wolfsbane and it was weighing me down. I had never felt this weak in my whole life. I hadn't eaten or drank anything for days now.
I knew that it was only going to be a while more before my life was completely drained. All I just wanted was to see Jane before I died. Drex couldn't help us either, he was equally very weak.
I heard the clinking sound of boots against the hard floor and I managed to lift my head very tiredly, catching the smirk that spread my father's lips apart.
He clicked his tongue, shaking his head. "Is this really how strong the mighty Alpha Keegan is?" He let out a mocking laughter.
"What exactly have I done to you?" I wondered, not believing that I could still speak despite the intense weariness.
"What have you done? I don't care, I definitely don't. Your entire existence frustrates me. You've always killed Vladimir's glory," he said at the same time Vladimir walked into the dark room.
"Didn't I tell you that you're useless and can never be anything in life? You tried to prove me wrong by building the strongest pack? Well, guess what? That pack you've built in years is just going to be crushed like you. I regret ever making you come into this world. And just as I created you into existence, I'm going to get rid of you."
It wasn't making any sense. There was no good reason for his hatred against me. He was just a mentally sick man that didn't deserve to be called anyone's father.
"How would you even expect to not be hated after being the cause of my mother's death?" Vladimir asked with a glare directed at me.
"What the heck?" I wondered, my facial muscles were too weak for me to frown at how ridiculous he sounded.
"You and your bitchy mother are the cause of my love's death. Your presence killed her. Isn't that enough reason to hate you even more, you bastard?" He raised his voice. "Make sure he's beaten up by the men and increase the wolfsbane so he dies sooner." Stefan said then took his leave.
What the heck was it with people and blaming me over the death of people I had no idea of their existence.
Vladimir cast a glare at me before calling the men in and took his leave.
Two men that were fully protected and covered walked in and added more wolfsbane to surround me and they started to hit me really hard with chains.
If only these wolfsbane hadn't been around me, I could've gathered enough strength to break these chains and rip the men's head off, but with these, I could certainly not make it out of here alive. I just really hoped Jane, Rylee, and my pack members were all safe because Stefan had been planning crazy attacks against my pack again.
