After five years

A few weeks later, Maria alongside her boyfriend, Adrian, went to London International Airport to pick up Anna and Marcelo. She was so excited to see her sister after 5 years and she couldn’t wait to finally meet her nephew.

She kept on looking, stretching her neck forward for their appearances unknowingly until Adrian pulled her back to his lap.

“Take a chill, Ria. They will arrive soon.” He held her by the waist to force her to sit still.

Maria pouted at him and rolled her eyes before she looked forward again. Fortunately, Anna and Marcelo appeared, and it was Anna that was able to recognize Maria with her keen eyes.

“Maria!” She yelled a huge smile on her face.

Maria searched for her in the crowd, only to place her face, which she had recalled from Facetime, on a 5 foot 8 woman wearing a black Givenchy leather jacket, while holding luggage, with a small purse, and a gorgeous little boy, who she instantly recognized as Marcelo.

“Anna! Marcelo!” She sprang up to her feet immediately from her boyfriend’s lap and rushed into her big sister’s open arms.

Almost crushing Anna in a tight hug, Maria didn't let go of her until Marcelo pulled her gown. “I miss you so much more than you can ever imagine.” Maria said to Anna as she stared at her beautiful face.

“Aunt Maria, mommy, I want a hug too.”

They chuckle slightly at his words before Maria drops to Marcelo’s height and pulls the little boy into her arms for a bear hug.

“Oh, dear, how can I forget about my beloved nephew?” She embraced him with utmost affection in her heart before wrapping her hands around his plump cheeks and kissing them.

She was still squatting and hugging Marcelo when her boyfriend moved forward toward them. Upon seeing another person, Anna cleared her throat, and Maria stood up to introduce her new boyfriend.

“Uhm- this is my big sister, Anna, and her son, Marcelo. This is Adrian, my uhm boyfriend.”

“Hello, Adrian,” Anna greeted casually, and Marcelo waved at him.

“Nice to finally meet you. Maria wouldn’t say anything about you, only that it had been five years since she last saw you.” Adrian asserted before outstretching his hand to help Anna with her luggage.

“Oh, no. It's okay, I can handle it.” Anna chuckled, politely refusing his assistance, but Adrian insisted.

“Thank you.” Anna appreciated his help when she finally let go of the luggage.

On their way out of the airport, Anna told Maria to go home with Marcelo, as she had to meet her client for delivery, and she would be back as soon as possible.

“Alright, don’t take long,” Maria replied and Anna kissed Marcelo before ordering a ride to where she was supposed to meet up with Rebecca Cameron.

On the same day that Anna arrived from Jersey, Jacob was also coming back home, but he had arrived two hours before Anna, and they weren’t able to encounter each other at the airport.

“I miss you so much, brother.” Jackson, who had come to pick him up, couldn't hold back his emotions.

It had been roughly more than 4 years since he had last seen his twin brother. Before that, they hadn’t been apart for that long.

“I'm exhausted.” Jacob groaned, his eyes roaming around as he breathed in the exotic smell of London again. “I can’t believe I miss London.” He muttered before they started strolling out of the airport.

Jackson laughed at how he worded his words and had to reply with a hint of envy and sarcasm in his voice. “I can’t believe you miss London, and not me, your only family at the moment.”

Jacob shook his head at his twin brother, “Do not let Rhoda hear that.”

They both had to keep his distress and grief aside as it had been so long since they met each other.

“Oh, please. You blocked everyone when you left London” Jackson scoffed as they approached his car, and Zane quickly walked closer to get Jacob’s luggage from them.

“Welcome back, sir.” Zane smiled happily at Jacob, who he realized was now calmer, and had grown out his beard. “London missed your presence.” He stated as a matter of fact.

After Jacob left, the mob had been a shame and a lesser force to reckon with, as their father, who was now handling it, was old, and his tactics were also unfashionable and less domineering.

In the first few months after Jacob left London, Zane had to use his body to protect Jackson so many times, as almost every mob house had gotten info that Jacob had resigned from the family business and had left the country. This made every one of them bare their teeth, and started attacking Jackson and all the other Mikelson family members in London with all their resources.

Fortunately for Jackson, he had hired a couple of security guards, who were trained in forces alongside a few of the mob members that still believed that Jacob would be back, and didn’t need their knees to Jared Luciano Mikelson.

“Glad to still see that you are here, Zane boy.” Jacob patted Zane’s shoulder with a half smile on his face before entering Jackson’s Limo after him.

“He has been very reliable,” Jackson said to Jacob as they zoomed off.

Raising a brow at him, Jacob asked. “Is there anything I don’t know about?”
