Chapter 112 Leave No Space for Disaster

Chapter 112 Leave No Space for Disaster
Claus's grip on the steering wheel tightened, and he swerved the van erratically, making it more difficult for the Beast's men to target them. Sergio, his heart racing, quickly took over Daniel's role, firing back at their pursuers.

Despite his injury, Daniel gritted his teeth and tried to regain control of his firearm. With trembling hands, he managed to fire off a few more rounds, forcing the Beast's men to take cover temporarily.

The van sped through the winding streets. Daniel, despite his injury, was ready to fight. He had his firearm ready, prepared to defend their position if necessary. "We can't let them take El Patrio back."

Claus nodded in agreement. "Hold on, everyone," he said, his voice determined. "We're going to lose them."

With expert precision, Claus steered the van through a series of quick turns and sudden maneuvers, attempting to outmaneuver their pursuers. The Beast's men followed, determined to recapture El Patrio.

The chase intensified, and the city's narrow streets became a battleground. Bullets flew, ricocheting off buildings and the van itself. It was a heart-pounding race against time.

Despite their best efforts, the Beast's men were relentless. Claus's driving skills were put to the test as he skillfully navigated the streets. He led their pursuers on a wild chase, hoping to create enough confusion to lose them.

As the chase continued, Sergio managed to make contact with Carol, who was at the safe house with Rick, Mia, and the baby. He quickly relayed their situation and their need for assistance.

Carol's voice came over the communicator, filled with urgency. "We're ready. Get to the safe house as fast as you can. We'll be prepared."

With Carol's reassurance, Sergio knew they had a plan in place. Claus continued to drive, navigating through alleyways and side streets, attempting to shake off their relentless pursuers.

Finally, a stroke of luck came their way. Claus spotted a narrow alley that led to a dead end. With a burst of speed, he maneuvered the van into the alley, blocking it with their vehicle. It was a risky move, but they had no other choice.

The Beast's men, following closely, were caught off guard by the sudden dead end. They screeched to a halt, their vehicles blocking the exit.

With their escape route sealed, Sergio, Daniel, Claus, and the captured El Patrio braced themselves for a confrontation. The standoff was tense as both sides assessed the situation.

But then, just as it seemed like a firefight was inevitable, Claus pulled off another clever move. He had the van reverse suddenly, creating just enough space for them to squeeze through an opening between two buildings.

The Beast's men were momentarily disoriented, giving Claus the chance he needed. With lightning-fast reflexes, he gunned the engine, and the van shot through the narrow gap, leaving their pursuers trapped.

Claus drove as fast as the van could go, zigzagging through the streets until they finally lost sight of the Beast's men. Their relentless pursuers were left behind, unable to follow.

Breathing a sigh of relief, Sergio contacted Carol again. "We've lost them," he reported. "We're on our way to the safe house now."

Carol's voice came through, filled with relief. "Good work, everyone. We'll be ready for your arrival. And we've got medical supplies waiting for Daniel's injury."

As the van screeched to a halt outside the safe house, Carol wasted no time. He knew that Daniel's gunshot wound needed immediate attention. With practiced efficiency, she rushed to Daniel's side, ready to provide the necessary care.

"Daniel, let me see that arm," Carol instructed, his tone calm and reassuring. He had seen his fair share of injuries in the field and knew the importance of acting quickly.

Daniel, still clutching his bleeding arm, winced in pain but extended it for Carol's examination. His face was etched with discomfort, but he gritted his teeth, determined to endure the necessary treatment.

Carol carefully inspected the gunshot wound, assessing the damage and the trajectory of the bullet. The wound was bleeding steadily, and it was clear that the bullet had gone through the fleshy part of Daniel's upper arm.

Sergio, Claus, and Mia watched anxiously as Carol worked. "This is what you are best at doing," Claus teased, and Carol eyed him.

With a calm and steady hand, Carol began to clean and disinfect the wound. Daniel winced as Carol probed the wound, but he remained stoic.

After thoroughly cleaning the wound, Carol carefully sutured it, closing the gap left by the bullet's passage. The team members watched in silence, their collective tension gradually easing as the procedure progressed.

Once the sutures were in place, Carol applied a sterile dressing and bandaged Daniel's arm securely.

With the treatment complete, Carol gave Daniel a reassuring pat on the shoulder. "You'll be fine, Daniel."

Daniel nodded, his gratitude evident in his tired smile. "Thanks, Carol. I owe you one."

Carol turned to the others, his expression serious. "We need to secure El Patrio and gather all the evidence he has against the Beast. Our mission isn't over yet. We can deal with the beast too."

"You mean, the brown envelope? You want us to leak the video and the documents?" Sergio asked.

"Yes, that way, we can deal with the Beast and put a stop to his acts."

"And he won't be able to cover it up like he promised?" Mia asked.

"Not if we do it the right way. We are not going to hand him over to the police. We will hand him over to the public. That way, the police will have no choice but to arrest everyone involved.

Sergio, Claus, and Mia nodded in agreement. They had come this far, and they were determined to see their mission through to the end, no matter the obstacles that lay ahead.

In the safe house, El Patrio sat tied to a sturdy chair in one of the rooms, his defiance intact despite his dire situation. The team members, led by Carol, had gathered to discuss the fate of the criminal kingpin.
