Chapter 83

Jeremy’s POV

I finished the ribs and sides then served the food to everybody once they climbed out of the pool and ready to eat. The conversations were kept light and fun filled but I kept seeing Theo eye give me a look here or there almost to be ask like, “So?”

I ignored him though as best as I could.

I did end up swimming with Emerald once we were done with dinner which was actually nice. It was amazing. I loved it. She wasn’t a very good swimmer in my book but she stayed a float well enough. She mainly swam with me instead of her friends which I thought that was surprising. J was pleased though don’t get me wrong.

After Theo took everyone home for me I thought he would go too so I could get everything set up but he reappeared just as I was going to pop everything in. I whispered, clearly distressed, “What are you doing here?”

“I was going to see if you wanted me to take her in the other room while you pop everything in. You know to make it easier on you.” He said.

“Theo-“ I started.

“I’ll disappear right afterwards I promise.” He said with his hands together in a pleading formality.

I slapped my forehead clearly irritated. “Fine.”

“Goodie!” He said loudly. Then realized his mistake and got quiet, “I’ll take her in the kitchen and you do your thing.”

I rolled my eyes.

I went about continuing my set up for all the decorations and rose petals while he distracted her in the kitchen. It only took me about five minutes and I was glad about that.

When I got back to the kitchen I said to Theo, “Theo I will see you tomorrow for work.”

Luckily he got the idea. I didn’t have to tell him twice.

He disappeared just as Emerald was saying, Bye Theo.”

She was mid wave when he disappeared. “That was weird. Why did he leave so abruptly?”

“Oh, uh, I don’t know. He must have a big day tomorrow with those dating apps.” I said as I walked over to her. Since the pool she had changed into warm dry clothes and took a quick shower. She didn’t want to smell like chlorine and who could blame her. I also took a fast one while everybody was distracted with dessert.

“Okay. So what do you want to do? We can play a board game. We can practice my powers more. We can also play some video games. I mean it’s still early in the night. But it’s up to you if you have to work tomorrow I completely understand under-“ she started on a nervous rant.

I walked over to her, interrupting her, “How about I want to show something instead?”

“Um, okay?” She asked curiously.

I took her hand and had her stand up from her bar stool. I turned her around in my arms and covered her eyes. “You can’t see anything right?”

“No, of course not, your hands are huge.” She said as I slowly led her to the front hall.

I smiled. “Good.”

She slowly took steps towards the front hall and once we got there I said, “Now this is only part of it. You have to follow it.”

“Um, okay.” She said unsure only because I still had her eyes blocked.

I uncovered her eyes.

At first she didn’t say anything.

I was so self conscious of everything. Right now I didn’t know what to do because she hasn’t said anything at all. She just stated off at the decorations and petals quietly.

After a few minutes, she finally spoke, “It’s beautiful. I love it.”

“Really? Are you sure?” I asked nervously.

“Yes. I’m just so shocked. Nobody has ever down this for me before. I am just speechless that somebody cared about me this much to want to do anything like this for me at all.” She said softly as she was processing everything.

“Oh.” I said. “I’m glad you love it.”

I slowly followed her up the stairs as she slowly walked following the trail. When we got to my bedroom she gasped out loud which was the reaction I was hoping for. In big bold letters above the bed at the headboard I had hung a sign that read I LOVE YOU EMERALD! In deep purple and lavender letters.

All of the sudden I heard these sobs.

I didn’t expect her to cry so I hurriedly said in a rush, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to make you cry. Was it too soon? I thought maybe it was too soon but I also felt it was the moment but I didn’t want to rush you. Emerald I’m sorry I was trying to surprise you but in a good way. Please don’t cry. I hate to see you cry. I wanted to show you how special you are to me. I didn’t mean to-“

“Jeremy it is absolutely perfect. I’m crying because I’m happy. These are happy tears.” She said softly as she turned around and jumped into my arms.

I was still so shocked by her reaction and mood swings I still had my arms at my side. “Oh.”

“Now would be the time to hug me back.” She said quietly.

I wrapped my arms around her holding her close. “So not too soon?”

“Definitely not. I think the timing is perfect. I know we haven’t known each other long. I know we are still are still figuring things out but I know you’re my soul mate, in every step and every way.” She looked up at me with this small smile on her face, almost like she had a secret. “And you know what?”

“What?” I asked.

“I love you too, Jeremy.” She smiled then the brightest smile I have ever seen from her.

I smiled right back at her. “I love you too, Emerald.”

She snuggled into my arms then said with a grin, “You know, since we have like thousands of years together I’m guessing. Your proposal better be better than this.”

“Listen,” I laughed.

“I’m just saying.” She said with a laugh of her own breaking the ice.

“Okay okay, I get the picture.” I laughed. I snuggled closer to her as I held her in my arms. After a few minutes of snuggling like that I figured now would be the time to lay the moves on her. This time to show her just how much I loved her. This time I knew our lovemaking was going to be different. I wanted to make

sure I took my time appreciating her from the top of her head to her toes. She needed to understand how much my brain, heart and body really feels when she’s not around me.

I took the leap.

I held her chin softly in mine and kissed her slow and sweet. It was amazing. I felt like this time everything was more heightened. I could still taste the chocolate ice cream on her tongue as hers wrestled with mine. I could smell her scent which smelled way stronger than before. I don’t know if it was because we were on my island now both in person or if it was because we had both said I love you to each other. I wasn’t sure which but I didn’t care at this point. I’ll figure that out later. Right now I wanted to be with her and focus on her.

As we tongue wrestled, her moans started off soft and sweet. I decided to start slowly stripping away her clothes teasing the both of us in the process as I wished my clothes away. This way we could be naked together.
