Chapter 84

Chapter 84
Emeralds POV

I didn't expect any of the I love you's or anything yet. It hasn't been that long that we have been together. I definitely knew he was doing it out of pure love and not just the soul mate bond. He really was an amazing man. He has been by my side through everything lately. I thought about the few times I woke up last night. I said it back and I truly meant it.
I woke up first the minute I saw sunshine through the window streaming in. I yawned and stretched, my body sore from last nights activities. I went to go sit up when I heard a loud thud. I looked to see that Theo had just busted into the room. I screamed and hurried up and covered myself waking up Jeremy in the process.
Jeremy sat up quickly, yelling, "What's going on?!"
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to scare you! Quit screaming!" He yelled over my screaming.
I stopped screaming.
"One of your charges are fighting a battle in his sleep. The problem is that we have tried everything to get this dude up. He is out cold. His body is shaking violently. He is going to die a brutal death in his dream if we don't help him. He possibly will die in the human realm. Luke said the way his body is shaking it could send his body into extreme shock. How did you not know?" asked Theo quickly and in a panic.
"Um, I don't know. How did you guys know?" Jeremy asked standing up and flashing battle clothes onto himself.
"Well, you haven't relenquished my abilities to check in on your charges that could be part of the problem as to why you didn't know about your charge." Theo explained.
"I'll have to fix that immediately." He said.
"Jeremy!" I said loudly.
He walked quickly over to my side of the bed, "I'll be back. I promise. You go back to sleep. By the time you get up later on, I'll be here. I promise."
He gave me a quick kiss on the head but was gone before I could even say goodbye and be careful.
I sighed as they both disappeared so fast.
I just sat there.
Well what am I suppose to do now? There is absolutely no way I am going to fall asleep. I couldn't now. I sighed and realized I might as well get up and practice my powers, maybe walk throught the house. Something, anything is better than sitting here worrying about him. I'll drive myself nuts doing that.
I went downstairs after I showered and dressed to only find his mom sitting at the kitchen counter.
"Um, hello." I said.
"Hello Emerald, dear. How nice to see you again." She said politely.
"Um, Mrs. Thorn, how long have you been here?" I asked.
"Just shy of ten minutes. Not long. I was bored sitting at home by myself. So I knew he brought you here and figured why not head over here to spend some time with you." She said as she drank a hot cup of tea. Her long red dress hung past her feet as she sat on the bar stool. Her white blonde hair was in a half bun half down hair do.
"So his dad went with him?" I asked.
"Of course. Whenever one of thier charges are in danger that can not be prevented, he goes a long to mainly watch over them to make sure they can handle the situation. But if he needs to intervene than he will. It just depends on the situation. He would never let anyone harm our children or they would have me and him to deal with and that my dear is a lethal combination that nobody wants." She explained.
"Oh." I said thinking that over as I made myself some coffee.
"Now what would you like to do my dear?" She asked me.
"Um, I don't know." I said turning around with cup to face her. "What do people do all day here? Like do they just lay around here all day or do you guys have like what we have in the human realm. A mall, a movie theatre, anything at all like that?"
"We have somewhat of one, if that is what it is called. A mall? I have heard that term before. It's a building with little shops is it not?" She asked as she looked over at me above her cup.
"Yes, it is. It's usually a big building with a bunch of stores in it. Sometimes its clothing stores, a food court, jewerly stores, candle stores, stores that sell things for your body like soaps and lotions, and even like home decor and things." I explained.
"I guess then, we have something similar to that. Its probably very different than what you have in the human realm but similar. We can leave when you are ready." She nodded as she set her cup down on the counter.
I nodded. "Anything is better I guess than sitting at home worrying about him."
"It is tough. I have had to deal with it for a very long time and it does not get any easier. Still to this day I get worried about his well being and now because my kids do it as well, I worry about thier well being also." She stood up from the bar stool and said softly, "You would think that I would not worry so much about them but I do. They are my whole world. Any mother would understand when you love your children that much, knows how you want nothing more than to put them in a bubble and protect them from ever getting harmed."
I nodded. "It is tough. I never thought I guess about battles or anything like that."
"The nice thing about the soul mate bond I guess, is that you will be able to feel when your significant other is not well. When they are hurting you will feel it as well. That is the nice thing about it. That will tell you the when you need to go to them. And that feeling will take you right to them so you do not get lost along the way. So let that be some peace and mind for you." She explained.
I nodded.
"Now let us get out of here and go to this so called mall as you call it. I always just call it like it is. But a mall I guess is a good word for it too." She said.
"What is it normally called?" I asked in curiosity secretly hoping there was a coffee shop there. I needed some more caffine.
"It is called Tolopos." She said.
"Tolopos?" I asked. "What does that mean?"
"I'm not sure. Your father would know. He is the one that created the place and named it that. But that is for another day. Now are you ready to go?" She asked.
I looked down at myself. I was wearing shorts and a t-shirt with flip flops. "Um, I guess."
"No, this will never do. You will stand out like a sore thumb." She said then with a snap of her fingers changed my clothes.
