Chapter 82

Jeremy’s POV

I felt so ecstatic that she loved the house. I honestly don’t even know what I was worried about. I think I felt worried because even though in our dreams she has been here before, in the end, it was only a dream. To me I didn’t know if she was going to think it was all fake. But I wanted to be open and honest with her from the very beginning. So I let her see everything from the start about what my home looked like. She hadn’t mentioned remembering it though. Did it bother me? Just a little but was it something to cause a fight over? Absolutely not. To me this was one of the most important days of my life. I wasn’t going to let it slip by me after hours and days of thinking about this for something as small as that.

Even as I looked at her sitting near me to keep me company I thought it was very thoughtful of her. She could be swimming with her friends which is what I invited her to do but she isn’t. She instead decided to keep me company. Not being a big gesture but to me it felt like a big deal. I had closed the lid to the ribs as I heard Theo say to Cherise very loudly, “Girl are you sure we are not related?”

I rolled my eyes as Emerald laughed thinking it was funny.

“I wouldn’t even doubt it if they were.” She laughed.

“I agree.” I said.

Theo then climbed out the pool walked over to us and slung a wet arm around my shoulders, “Listen we were just talking over there and I have a question.”

“Why do I feel like I am not going to like this question of yours.” I said.

“You will but it has nothing to do with you. I actually need advice. See Cherise was over giving me some advice and now I need your help.” Theo asked as I tried to remove his wet arm from me.

“What is it?” I asked knowing I have to expect whatever comes my way may or may not be the most appropriate question.

“See, I asked Cherise out of all the human guys that are on earth, that are gay, mind you, does she think that they would be into all this? Like me wise, the tattoos, the no body hair, the nails, eyeliner, etc. Now she said they definitely would. I see my soul mate as a human guy. I don’t know why I do but I just do. Now I have been a little bit of everywhere on Earth. Every country and stuff but I never had an online dating profile. Do you think that after all this time I should get one? That after all this time maybe, just maybe, that even through a device like a lap top or phone that I could feel a connection like that with another guy?” Theo asked explaining to me what he was thinking.

“It’s an interesting idea. I mean with the way the soul mate bond is changing, it’s possible. I mean, Emerald is half human so maybe yours could be full human. I don’t see why not. Even her dad said it was possible as this point.” I said.

“What do you think Emerald?” Asked Theo.

“I think it’s worth a shot. I don’t know why but I could see you loving online dating. But you always have to be careful of guys out there who are huge manipulators and through a phone you can’t tell anything about that person. My word of advice just be cautious. Pick wisely and really communicate with them to see how their attitude is.” Emerald replied.

“Hmm, interesting. I think I’m going to have to give this a try. I’ll download one and start right now. Maybe I should take a couple poses in my swim trunks so I can get the full effect of this natural body.” He said gesturing to himself.

“You could.” I said.

“Goody! Okay, Ryder!” He called out.

“Yes?!” Ryder asked back.

“Darling would you mind if I borrow Cherise to take a couple pictures of me by the pool?” He asked walking over but so excited his voice was loud.

“Go ahead.” Ryder laughed.

“Cherise, honey, let’s take some photos. Now make sure to get my good side. I want a nice profile as well as a full frontal. Maybe I guess get my backside too. You never know what other men are into.” He said all giddy and excited.

I laughed as Cherise climbed out and started taking photos of Theo.

“Was it me or did you feel like it was going to be something way more inappropriate?” Asked Emerald.

“No I thought the same thing. With Theo? You never know what you are going to get. I wouldn’t put it past him that once he chooses a dating site and actually has it uploaded that something inappropriate will bound to slip out.” I said.

“Slip out of what?” Asked Luke appearing at my side in black swim trunks too.

I rolled my eyes as Emerald jumped. “Not slip out of what. Never mind. Anyways Theo is putting himself on a dating site.” I said.

“Why?” He asked.

“Because he wants to and it makes him happy. Why else?” I asked.

“Those things are dumb.” Said Luke.

“You’ve tried them before?” I asked in surprised raising my eyebrows.

“Once or twice. I never liked them. Too confusing for me. I’d rather meet someone in person.” He said.

“That sounds about right.” I said.

“It was. They just weren’t for me.” He said.

“You’re just in time ribs should be done shortly but where were you at? I invited you hours ago and you didn’t say you were coming or not.” I accused.

“Sorry big brother, I was taking care of a couple things.” He said nonchalantly with a shrug of his shoulders.

“Hmm.” I mumbled.

“What?” He asked.

“Nothing.” I said. I knew he was lying. We could always tell when one was keeping something from each other. But for some reason he wanted this to be kept private. Of course my first thought went to a girl. Why wouldn’t it? I mean we all knew how Luke was a ladies man. So why not this be over a girl. I let it go though because I really didn’t want to cause a fight with him. Luke tends to get real cranky if you pester him about his private life.

“Anyway, you ready to go have some fun in the pool?” I asked him.

“Yep, it is just what I need. Some rest and relaxation is perfect right now.” He said as he walked off.

“Was that weird for Luke or was it just me?” Asked Emerald after he was out of ear shot.

“No it was weird. But knowing Luke he is very private about his private life so I am just going to let it be. He’ll eventually tell me. He always does. Right now though is not the time to pester him. He’ll only get mad and frustrated.” I said.

“Okay. As long as I’m not the only one who noticed it.” She said.

“No, you’re not.” I said. I looked back at Luke who seemed happy to be here and his normal self as he played in the pool. But I knew him better than anyone something was off with him.
