Chapter 91
Author POV…
Angelina landed in Huawei, her heart pounding in her chest. She was finally leaving Lorenzo behind. She was finally starting a new life with her baby. She was happy yet sad. She had talked to Ava before coming here. Ava was the only friend she had known from Hawaii.
Angelina walked out of the airport and saw Ava waiting for her. Ava was her friend, and she had been the only one to support her through her breakup with Lorenzo. Angelina was hesitant at first, but then she told her that she had broken up with her boyfriend as he cheated on her. Ava was a great support for Angelina.
Ava ran up to Angelina and hugged her tightly as if they were long-lost best friends. Ava was also alone most of the time because people would rather not be friends with an introvert.
“I'm so glad you're here,” Ava said. “I've missed you so much.” she was still hugging her.
Angelina hugged Ava back. She was so grateful to have her friend by her side. Angelina also hugged her tightly because she was already missing her parents and friends.
“I've missed you too,” Angelina said, hugging her more tightly. She was getting emotional.
Angelina and Ava walked out of the airport and into the warm Huawei air. Angelina took a deep breath and smiled. She was finally here, safely. She wrapped her arm around her stomach protectively. Angelina picked up her bags, but Ava beat her to it. She put her bags in her car.
Angelina and Ava got into Ava's car and drove to Ava's home. Angelina was exhausted, but she couldn't sleep. She kept thinking about Lorenzo and their unborn child. She knew that it was unfair to him to hide his baby, but she would rather not break his relationship.
Angelina placed her hand on her stomach. She knew that she had to move on, but she couldn't help but feel sad. She was going to miss Lorenzo, and she was going to miss their time. She had developed such a solid habit of talking to him every day that now it would be difficult to not talk daily.
Angelina closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She knew that she had to be strong. She had to do what was best for herself and her child. She didn't want some psycho around her baby.
Angelina opened her eyes and looked out the window. Ava was driving through a busy street, surrounded by tall buildings and bright lights. It was a new world, and Angelina was excited to explore it. She was feeling every emotion of a pregnant lady.
They arrived at AVA home and Angelina was not moving towards her home, but Ava calmed her down and took her bags.
Angelina stood in the doorway of Ava's parents' house, her heart pounding in her chest. She didn't want anyone to judge her. She had been nervous about meeting them, but Ava had assured her that they would be welcoming.
Angelina took a deep breath and then Ava knocked on the door. A few moments later, the door opened and Ava's mother, Mrs. Loman, appeared.
“Angelina!” Mrs. Loman exclaimed. “It's so nice to finally meet you.”
Mrs. Loman gave Angelina a big hug. Angelina was surprised by the hug, but she hugged her back. She was expecting their hateful eyes, but it was completely the opposite.
“It's a pleasure to meet you too, Mrs. Loman,” Angelina said and smiled at her welcoming nature.
“Please, call me Linda,” Mrs. Chen said.
Angelina smiled. “Okay, Linda,” she said.
Ava's father, Mr. Loman, appeared behind Linda. He smiled at Angelina.
“Welcome to our home, Angelina,” he said.
“Thank you,” Angelina said.
Linda and Charles, AVA's father, led Angelina into the living room. They sat down on the couch and invited Angelina to sit down next to them.
“Ava has told us so much about you,” Linda said. “We're so glad that she has you as a friend.”
“Thank you,” Angelina said. “Ava is a great friend.”
“We know,” Mr. Loman said. “She's the best daughter a parent could ask for.”
Angelina smiled. She was glad that Ava had such supportive parents. Now Ava was her friend and she was going to treasure her in her life.
“Angelina,” Linda said. “We know that you're going through a difficult time right now. We want you to know that we're here for you. If you need anything at all, please don't hesitate to ask.”
Angelina's eyes welled up with tears. She was so touched by Linda's kindness.
“Thank you,” Angelina said. “That means a lot.”
Angelina took a deep breath and wiped her eyes.
“I know that I'm an intruder in your home,” she said. “But I want to apologize for that. I'm just grateful to have Ava as a friend. And I'm grateful for your support.”
Linda smiled. “You're not an intruder,” she said. “You're family.”
Mr. Loman nodded in agreement. “You're always welcome here,” he said.
Angelina smiled. She was so happy to have met Ava's parents. She knew that she had found a new home away from home. This would be her second home from now on.
Angelina and the Lomans spent the rest of the evening talking and laughing. Angelina felt comfortable and at ease with them. She knew that she had made two new friends. She found 2 new friends with Ava.
Ava helped Linda in the kitchen. They cooked some healthy dinner for Angelina because she was pregnant, and she had traveled a long way.
“Angelina come, let's have dinner,” Ava said as she set the dining table.
“Okay” replied Angelina.
Angelina sat at the dining table with Ava and her parents, enjoying a delicious home-cooked meal. She felt so grateful to be there. Ava's parents had been so kind and welcoming to her.
“This is delicious, Linda,” Angelina said. “Thank you for cooking.”
“You're welcome, dear,” Linda said. “I'm glad you like it.”
“How about you and the baby?” Linda asked.
“I'm doing well,” Angelina said. “I'm still getting used to the new feelings, but Ava is helping me a lot. She has been giving me company. “
“We're so glad to hear that,” Linda said. “We want you to feel comfortable here.”
“I do,” Angelina said. “Thank you so much.”
Angelina took a bite of her food and savored the flavor. She was so happy to be surrounded by such kind and caring people.
“Angelina,” Ava said. “We've been thinking. We know that you're probably not ready to talk about your relationship with Lorenzo yet, but we want you to know that we're here for you when you are.”
Angelina looked at Ava and her parents. She was so grateful for their support.
“Thank you,” she said. “I appreciate it.”
“We're family,” Ava said. “That's what families do.” Ava was the sweetest Angelina had met in Hawaii.
Angelina smiled. She felt so lucky to have Ava and her family in her life.
Angelina finished her dinner and Ava's parents brought out dessert. It was a traditional Huawei dessert made with red bean paste and sweet glutinous rice. It looked delicious.
“This is my favorite dessert,” Ava said. “You have to try it.”
Angelina took a bite of the dessert and her eyes widened in surprise. It was delicious. She was instantly drawn to it.
“This is wonderful,” she said.
“I told you,” Ava said with a smile.
Angelina and Ava's parents finished their dinner and dessert. They talked and laughed for a while longer before it was time for Angelina to go.
“Thank you so much for dinner,” Angelina said. “I had a wonderful time.”
“You're welcome, dear,” Linda said. “We're always happy to have you.”
“Ava takes Angelina to her room,” Linda said and smiled towards Angelina.
“I am sorry again for troubling you, but I promise that I will move out quickly," Angelina said, feeling ashamed.
“ Ohh no worries, you can stay as long as you want” assured Linda.
Ava took Angelina to one of the guestrooms.
“You can sleep in the guest room,” Ava said. “It's all set up for you.”
“Thank you," Angelina said.
Angelina went to the guest room and collapsed on the bed. She was so tired, but she couldn't sleep. She kept thinking about Lorenzo and their unborn child.
Angelina closed her eyes and drifted off to sleep, dreaming of a new future.
