Chapter 70 070

Chapter 70 070
Mona and Leo would have more problems if they met four times a week.

She frowned and made a choice. "You need my permission."

Leo grinned at Luke and nodded. "I'll tell you what a dad is."

Luke couldn't figure out what Leo really meant by what he said, but when he saw his sinister smile, he realized he had horrible intentions.

So Luke moved his head and rested on Mona’s neck. Leo was calm and didn't think it was hard to take care of the kids.

Grandpa realized that Leo had not fully understood what was going on. He didn't remind him; instead, he bent down and said to Rue, "Great-grandpa will invite you to my house next time, okay?"

Rue looked at her mother with uncertainty. She didn't mind, so Rue responded cheerfully, “okay.”

"You should eat more food Grandpa, you’re skinny." Rue said again.

The ward exploded into laughing. Leo couldn't help but laugh either after what Rue said. After that, Grandpa dried his tears and told Rue, "Don't worry, I'll eat more food."

Rue nodded with a serious look on her face. The ward was calm and quiet. No one noticed that someone was looking at them in the ward with anger.

There was a woman who was biting her lips so hard that they were almost bleeding. Sydney was the one. She had previously paid off a snitch in the hospital. She hurried over right away when she found out that Leo had gone to see Luke and Rue. She didn't expect to see such a pleasant sight, though.

At first it was Mona, and now It was those two kids again. Sydney fought the impulse to run up and create a scene and instead called her mom. "Didn't you say you’ll handle Mona? Why haven't you done anything yet?"

"Do you really think it's that easy?" Rachel responded in an agitated tone, "There has been progress. Don't worry.” She then hung up the phone.

Sydney gave the people in the ward a dirty look. One day, she would make them all wish they hadn't done that as she left.

Mona finally saw what was on the bed with Luke after Grandpa and Leo left. It was all expensive amethyst jewelry.

She said to Luke and Rue, "I'll put these things away for you first. You can't use them as toys because they break too easily.”

Rue stared at the puppy's decorations and didn't want to give them up. Mona had to make a vow. "I'll go back and put this puppy on your nightstand. Don't break it and keep it safe, okay?"

Rue kept nodding. Then she looked at Luke. Luke also grabbed a little monkey. Then they both agreed to let her put the decorations away.

Mona placed the box aside. She was just about to leave when she ran into Conan, who had come to see the kids with something.

Conan looked ashamed. "Why are you still here? I…"

Mona looked at what he was holding and said quietly. "Can we talk?"

Conan thought about it for a bit and then said yes. They both went to the seat in the hospital garden.

Conan remained quiet for a long time. Then he grinned and said, "I never thought I would be sitting in the hospital hallway with you." The sunshine that was golden shined through the leaves on their bodies. It was a sweet scene, but it didn't have anything to do with the two of them right now.

He put his hands over his eyes and murmured softly, "I found out that Stefan’s biological mother had a hard time back then.”

Agatha found out she was pregnant after Conan broke up with her. She wasn't very healthy. She might not be able to be a mother for the rest of her life if she had an abortion. Agatha had to give birth to the child quietly after thinking about it. But she had been sick since she gave birth to the child. She was quite sick and didn't have any money to get better.

Helen suddenly showed up, gained her trust, and took Stefan away after she died. She abuse and psychological tricks to get Stefan to listen to her.

Stefan suffered a mental collapse after the incident. He hardly calmed down after the psychologist told him many times to do so.

"Anyway, I can take the blame for this. I don't know how to deal with you.” Conan gazed at her with a sad look on his face. His eyes showed that his feelings were stuck and no longer flowed freely.

He understood that Mona couldn't hold a grudge after everything that had transpired, and he couldn't keep going after her like nothing had happened. He realized that there was no chance for them anymore, especially after what his mother had stated that day.

Mona glanced at him for a bit and then patted him on the shoulder. "I don't blame you; Luke and Rue won't either. You will always be their godfather.”

When she said this, Conan stared at her with a complicated look on his face and knew what she meant. He looked like he had an idea and gave her a piece of paper. "I heard that you have been looking into Helen lately. This is everything you need to know about her. Maybe there are some things we haven't found yet. You can look at it.”

Mona saw the document and quickly opened it to read it attentively. Helen’s life was not easy. She lost her father when she was young, and then went to school overseas...”

Mona suddenly looked at the university where Helen went to school. "Riverdale University?" Charlotte asked David, "Helen went to Riverdale university?”

Conan nodded his head. "I heard her say that before."

Mona nodded in a thoughtful way. There was a woman who had gone to Riverdale University who had a problem with her. Avery was her name.

"Thanks. This paper is useful,” she told him, "You may gently make up for Stefan’s hard life in the future if you think he has had a terrible life. He will get better in the end.”

Conan nodded his head. "Can I hug you one more time?"

Mona agreed. They hugged for a while, but it wasn't because they were feeling anything. They merely made each other feel better.

Conan stared deeply into her eyes and murmured, "Goodbye."
