Do it right

Larina's POV.

" You should have told me that you planned to attack Rhea. It would have been a success" he responded.

"And what makes you think that it would be so easy?" I lifted an eyebrow.

"Firstly, I would have hired competent people who actually knew what it would take to kill someone. Why would you hire buffoons for a task as big as that?" He asked me, and I scoffed

Did he really think he was smarter than any of those men? I saw them all in the same category to be honest.

"There is no need for dwelling in the past mow. It will only take us back." I stopped him from talking.

He had said so much that my ears were already hurting .

"You are right, we have to devise a new plan, and Kayden should be the direct target this time," he said.

My eyes widened in shock.

"What do you intend to do?" I found myself asking.

"Don't worry, just leave it up to me" he waved his hands in the air.

"I hope you are not trying to kill him?" I got scared.

Harming Kayden isn't part of my plan. I am still in love with him, and I still have plans of becoming the Luna.

"And what is wrong with me planning to kill him? Is there a reason you want him alive?" He asked me, and I shook my head signifying a no.

"Then let it be. If he does in the process then he should die. I would like that even more, but I didn't see that happening anytime soon" he frowned, and I turned away from him.

"It will be almost impossible to kill Kayden. Sk, why do you keep stressing on this issue. Lets just kill Rhea, she…" I was talking when Lucas showed me his palm.

"I have enough from you. Kill Rhea this, Kill Rhea that. You are forgetting the real enemy here is Kayden and not Rhea. But, that is beyond the point " he scolded me, and I fell silent immediately.

"So, what do you want to do to Kaydne?" I asked him.

"That is not your problem for now. Just know that after today, Kayden will no longer rein as the Alpha King." He declared.

I don't know why, but I felt my chest tightening. Something inside me didn't like that sentence.

"Lucas" I called him, but he slammed the door in my face.

What plan does he have that makes him so sure that Kayden will no longer be King.

I know he won't be able to kill Kayden, so what does he plan to do?

This is all my fault. I should have never accepted his stupid request in the first place.

"Larina" I heard a female voice from behind me, accompanied with the sound of my door being slammed

I turned around to see Imogen standing behind me, her face red and her eyebrows crased.

"What is this?" She screamed in my face.

"What the hell are you talking about?" I lifted an eyebrow.

"What does Lucas want to do to Kayden? Why is he so sure that after a few days, Kayden will no longer be king? This was not part of the plan. Our only target was Rhea, so why is Kaydne now becoming the victim?" she was furious at me, screaming at the top of her lungs.

"I don't know. I didn't make any plans with Lucas. He has lost his mind "I was equally pissed.

"So, what do we do ? How do we stop him when we don't even know his plans?" She asked me, pacing back and forth in the room, with her palm glued to her forehead.

"I don't know" I shook my head.

"Then think of something?" She screamed in my face.

Her voice was so loud that I had this ringing sensation in my head.

"I am trying to think, but with you screaming in my face like that. It is impossible!" I screamed back at her

I hate being under pressure.

She looked at me, rolling her eyes away from me angrily.

"Do something to stop him and do something quick" she whispered, before she stormed out of my room.

I simply looked at her from head to toe, not a single word fell from my lips.

I didn't have the energy to banter words with her.

I began to feel suffocated in the room, like something was choking me.

I walked out of my room in search of some peace and comfort.

Walking down the corridor, I passed Lucas' room and I overheard him talking to someone on the phone.

"Don't mess this up. And do not leave any evidence behind. Kayden is smart, he can track you down by just your scent" he spoke aggressively.

I hid behind the wall, pressing my ear against it tightly, just  so I could hear more of his conversation.

I couldn't hear what the person on the other end was saying. But, I could clearly hear what Lucas was saying.

"I know you are good, but with Kayden there is no such thing as being too careful. He doesn't mind killing you on the spot. That guy is a monster, a beast I tell you" he spoke with so much confidence.

"I'll settle you when the job is " Lucas spoke before he ended the call.

"I know you are there Larina" he said, making me shiver.

I came out from hiding, my head glued to the floor.

"It doesn't matter how much you try. You will never be able to find out my plans for Kayden until I have executed them. I don't want you ruining it" he reminded me.

"How did you know?..." I wasn't able to finish my question when he scoffed and smiled at me.

"I have been inside you, with you screaming my name. I can pick up your scent from miles away. Be careful with me and don't pull this kind of stunt next time. It won't be good for you" he warned me.

I felt cold for some reason, as goosebumps emerged on my skin.

When did Lucas become so bold and smart?

Does this mean he can overthrone Kayden for real?

No, I can't let that happen. I must become the next Luna.
