Another coronation?

Rhea's POV

Since Kayden left my room out of annoyance, he didn't even think for once to see me again. What kind of person is he?

"Rhea, you are back" Eliza walked towards me, with a big smile on her face.

She tucked her hand underneath mine.

"What's going on?" I murmured.

I didn't know if I was safe or not. I mean, my husband's second wife is welcoming me home from the hospital.

"Nothing, I am just excited that you're home" she spoke.

"Thank" I tried to free myself from her, and walk out, but she pulled me back.

"You have to get ready," she announced.

Why was she smiling so much? Could it be that she has already laid a trap for me?.

"For what?" I asked.

"For your welcoming ceremony," she told me.

"I already had my welcoming ceremony," I reminded her.

"Yes, but not when you got married to Kayden.

"Yes, but I don't want to participate in any welcoming ceremony anymore. I just want to have my rest "I insisted, and she shook her head.

"I'm sorry darling, but that is not the case. You will have to go get ready for your ceremony. It's a tradition, and it must be respected" she was firm.

I thought I had an upper hand since I was the first wife?

"Be quick. There is a dress on your bed, and your personal maid is waiting for you. We dont have much time" she insisted.

And like a little baby, I nodded my head going upstairs.

Alysia stood at the door with a smile on her face.

"Welcome back Luna. I missed you" she seemed genuinely happy.

And that was one thing I loved about her. Alysia served me because she wanted to, other servants in the packhouse seemed forced.

They never smiled at me, instead I could hear their whispers behind my back.

"Thank you so much. I have missed you too, not the packhouse "I told her, walking into the room.

"I am so glad to hear that" she shook her head like a happy puppy

I knew that she was excited that I was back to the packhouse, and well too. But, she seemed overly excited like there was something else.

"Why are you so excited?" I asked her, and she shook her head.

"It's nothing Luna. I'm just glad you are back" she replied.

At first I didn't want to believe her, in fact I wanted to push the question further but I had a splitting headache and I wanted this ceremony to be over.

She curled my gold hair, my wavy curls pouring down my shoulders and extending to my waist.

Making sure my makeup was bold, but not too loud.

"You look beautiful " she complimented me, putting a bag over my head.

The dress I was wearing didn't have a zipper, so I had to pass it over my head. And the make up would have ruined the dress, if not for the bag.

It was a mermaid dress, with a deep V neck at the back. And a V cutting in front, down to my bust, giving me enough cleavage. Not too much, and definitely not too little. It had a slit on the side too, appreciating my figure.

This dress didn't look like something I could get in any store

It looked like it was designed especially for me, and I loved it.

I stared at myself in the mirror, as a smile creeped on my face. I didn't look like one who had been hospitalized for days.

Infact, I looked very beautiful.

Everything was perfect, except one thing.

The dress was red!!

"Why is the dress red? I thought the ceremony requires a purple dress. And no veil?" I asked Alysia.

"The King wanted it this way," she smiled.

"Kayden." I clicked my tongue against my upper teeth.

I wonder why he always chose to do his things differently from others. No matter how I tried, I couldn't understand him.

Alyisa accompanied me down the staircase, and Eliza stood at the bottom with a big smile on her face.

"Wow! You look so beautiful!" Her jaw dropped to the floor.

She acted like she wouldn't look ten times better than me in this dress.

Alysia handed me over to Eliza who was accompanying me to the car.

"Why are we leaving the packhouse!" I lifted an eyebrow.

"The ceremony won't be held here," she told me.

And everything seemed fishy. From the color of the dress to the location of the ceremony. What if this is just Eliza ploy?

"I will never harm you or anyone. Please trust me" she said, as though she knew what I was thinking.

Why did she have so many similarities to Kayden? It's as though they're one person but in different bodies.

"How long have you known Kayden ?" The question fell from my lips.

I covered my mouth immediately, trying to rectify my mistake.

"I'm not quite sure. I think I have known him for over 20 years now" she said.

"You've known him since you were both kids?" I lifted an eyebrow.

"Yes," she replied.

I didn't know why a lump formed in my throat. I suddenly felt jealous, l wanted to be in her place so badly.

No wonder they had each other traits, she had known him long enough to take his traits.

"What are you thinking about?" She asked me.

"Nothing," I shrugged.

"Kayden likes you alot. I can tell" she whispered.

"No, he hates me, he never does or says anything nice to me" I complained

"Yet he risks his life every time to save yours. Kayden has been through so much on the past. Please do your best to understand him. No one does, and it hurts his feelings a lot" she pleaded.

"I am not sure that Kayden even has feelings to begin with" I faked a smile.

"He does and each time you do something that puts your life in danger. It hurts him. He feels responsible for your condition. He keeps thinking he could have done something to prevent it from happening. He has always been blamed for everything. So forgive him, if he acts selfish sometimes. He hasn't received a lot of love or care" she apologized to me.

I began to feel sorry for Kayden all of a sudden.

"He isn't a bad person" she said, before she fell silent.

There was something shocking about the silence in the car. I wonder what Kayden has gone through as a child that made him the way he is now.

I hope he heals before it's too late.
