Chapter – 3

Third person’s POV

After removing the Sherwani that Vihaan was wearing, both Vihaan and Rajiv gasped seeing the deep cut. Vihaan looked at his own leg with a pitiful expression while Rajiv was looking at it with a concerned face.

“ Sir, how are you enduring the pain? Are you not feeling any pain? This is such a deep cut and you are also bleeding so much. How were you still able to manage such a straight face?” - Rajiv asked with concern.

In reply, Vihaan looked at Rajiv with a smug smile and took out a small medicine container and a syringe from a hidden pocket in the wheelchair.

Rajiv took the medicine from Vihaan’s hand, and after reading the name of the medicine, he looked at Vihaan with an impressed smile. “ Wow! Sir, you have injected anaesthetic! You didn’t feel any pain because you are under the effect of anaesthesia.”

“ Shhh! Lower your voice!” Vihaan alerted Rajiv as his (Rajiv’s) voice became a little high, finding out the reason for Vihaan’s not feeling any pain. Vihaan was afraid that Trisha would hear them.

“ Oh sorry sorry…” Rajiv gave an apologetic look. “ But sir, how did you know?”

Vihaan looked at Rajiv with an inquiring face as he didn’t understand Rajiv’s question.

“ I mean, How did you know that Trisha ma’am would do such a thing? And why did she do this?” - Rajiv asked confusingly.

“ Do you think If I had known she was mental I would have married her?” Hearing Vihaan’s statement, Rajiv just smiled and didn’t say anything. Vihaan continued “ I injected this anaesthetic just to be safe. Who would have thought that the idea would help me in such a way? Thankfully, I injected the drug. Oh yeah, this reminds me, give me a painkiller. After 2 or 3 hours when the effect of anaesthesia will fade away I will feel the pain. On this earth, I assume I am the first human who got stabbed by his newly wedded wife on the wedding night. My name should be published in every newspaper.” - Vihaan said with mockery while dabbing his own wound with cotton balls dipped in medicine.

Rajiv wanted to laugh seeing Vihaan’s expression but he controlled himself and asked him with a confused face “ But why did Trisha ma’am do it?”

“ Because she doubts I can walk?”

“What?” - Rajiv exclaimed but he immediately realized his mistake and lowered his voice hurriedly “ but how? Has Tarun sir told her?”

“ No, I don’t think so. Tarun sir will never do such a thing. He didn’t even tell my grandfather, who is his best friend, about it .” - Vihaan replied with certainty.

“ But Trisha ma’am is his granddaughter. He wanted her to marry you, maybe …” - Rajiv didn’t get the chance to complete his sentence when Vihaan interrupted him.

“ Our marriage is a contract marriage. He threatened Trisha using his company’s CEO’s post. Trisha married me just because it is a contract marriage. Besides, I trust him. My secret is safe with him. He will never tell anyone Until I say.” - Vihaan replied with very much confidence. In the world there were only two people whom  Vihaan trusted more than himself, they were - Rajiv, his attendant and Mr Tarun Mallik, Trisha’s grandfather.

“ But sir, he wants this marriage to work, maybe that is why…” Rajiv said.

“ No, Rajiv. Still, there is no chance he would tell. Besides, I didn’t say, Trisha knows, I said Trisha doubted my disability. I don’t know why but I will find out.” - Vihaan replied with assurance.

“ Sir, can I ask you one question?” - Rajiv asked.

Vihaan gave him a side glance and said “ you have already been asking questions since we entered the washroom. Now, what is the need to ask this? Hurry up and ask. We have been in the washroom for quite a long time. That mental woman will assume something else, she has no sense.”

Rajiv smiled upon hearing Vihaan’s statement. Then he asked Vihaan “ Sir, Tarun sir wants this marriage to work. What do you want?”

“ What nonsense question is this? You know very well why I have married her. And Besides You know that Trisha loves someone else. Why are you asking such a question? We will continue this marriage for two years according to our contract and then End. Do you understand?” - Vihaan replied with a poker face.

“Sir, Do you really want to end this marriage?” - Rajiv asked while looking at Vihaan with squinted eyes.

“ You know what? You have been talking too much. I think I need to give you a lot of work so that you don’t get the time to think nonsense. Now, help me get out of the washroom or are you planning to spend the whole night here with me?” Vihaan asked annoyingly.

Rajiv didn’t ask anymore. He smiled while shaking his head seeing how Vihaan avoided his question. He didn't want to know anymore because he already got his answer. As Vihaan ordered, Rajiv helped him to get out of the Washroom.
