Chapter – 4

Third Person’s POV

After helping Vihaan lie down on the bed Rajiv left the room saying goodnight to Trisha. Vihaan closed his eyes completely ignoring  Trisha who was standing with a guilty face near the bed.

Trisha said sorry and stood there for some time to get a response from Vihaan but Vihaan had no intention to do so. When Trisha realized Vihaan would not give her any response, She frowned at Vihaan’s lying figure. She didn’t stand there any longer, with an attitude she came to her side of the bed and hopped on it.

“ Humph! I am sorry for my deeds but the attitude he is showing as if he felt any pain. I know what I did was wrong. I shouldn't have done that. But come on! Man! You didn’t feel any pain. You have no sense in your legs so you can’t feel any pain then why show this much attitude? You can accept my apology but no! He has to show his attitude. He wants me to feel like a criminal. Humph! You are lucky that I said sorry. It is your loss that you didn’t accept my apology, not mine. Huh!” - Trisha was muttering all this under her breath but her voice was loud enough for Vihaan to hear.

Vihaan who was beside her trying to sleep, opened his eyes and turned his face toward Trisha and asked with a very serious expression “ Has God forgotten to put your brain?”

Trisha glared at Vihaan and said, “ You are the idiot.”

Vihaan laughed “ So it is confirmed God has forgotten to put a brain in your head. Did I call you an idiot? No! But you understand that; you know why?  People who don’t have a brain always comprehend the opposite.”

“Yeah! Yeah! You understand this very well because you have the same problem.” - Trisha said with a smirk.

Vihaan looked at Trisha with an unamused face. Giving Vihaan a slide glance Trisha prepared to lie down when Vihaan stopped her “ Why are you laying here? Are you planning to sleep here?”

“ I know you don’t have a brain but at least you should know that people sleep in a bed.” - Trisha said with a mocking face.

Vihaan rolled his eyes and replied “ People sleep on their own beds. This is my bed, so why are you sleeping on my bed?”

“Then where did you expect me to sleep? Have you forgotten we got married today?” - Trisha looked at Vihaan as if he had lost his mind.

“Ou! Now you remember we got married today. You are a weird person. You reminded me about our marriage as a contract marriage, aren’t you? What will you do if I say I don’t want you to sleep on my bed? Go, sleep on the couch.” - Vihaan said with a challenging tone. Vihaan thought according to Trisha’s temper, she would shout at him or would give him some lecture about being a gentleman but instead what Trisha said and did make Vihaan dumbfounded.

“ Why? Oh! I understood. You are afraid. Don’t worry, I am a good person. You are safe with me. I will not do anything with you.” - Trisha said while patting Vihaan’s shoulder.

“ Are you insulting me?” - Vihaan asked with squinted eyes.

“Why would I insult you? I have just stated the fact.” - Trisha said with an innocent face.

“You know with the brain god has also forgotten to give you a heart also. You are mental.” - Vihaan said irritatedly.

“ Poor you! You are stuck with this mental for two years” - Trisha said giggling. Saying this she laid down while covering herself completely from head to toe with the quilt.

Vihaan wanted to reply ‘not poor me, but lucky me.” but he controlled his emotions and mouth. He looked at the figure beside him with a lot of emotions in his eyes. He didn’t answer Rajiv earlier but honestly, he wanted to make this marriage work. But he believed he could not do that because the person he loved had someone else in her heart. And he could not make her sad.

He didn't need to marry Trisha to fulfil his purpose, but when Trisha’s grandfather, Tarun put the marriage proposal in front of him, he wasn’t able to let go of the chance to be with Trisha as her husband. Even though the marriage was a contract marriage for just 2 years.

Vihaan looked towards Trisha with love-filled eyes and said in his mind “ Trisha, you have not remembered our past. You want to spend your future with someone else. So I will make sure that, at least, you keep me in your memories in future. Good night, Trishu.”

Vihaan closed his eyes to sleep. Trisha was already in her dreamland. The newlyweds slept together in one bed. Though the distance between them on the bed wasn’t much, by emotions it was huge.
