Chapter – 2

Third person’s POV

Vihaan squinted his eyes and asked, “ What do you mean by ‘If I were disabled’?”

“ What else could I mean? You are not a disabled person. Don’t worry your secret is safe with me. I know you must have some reason to pretend like one. I will not tell anyone.” - Trisha replied with a small smile on her face.

“ I think you have lost your mind.” - Vihaan said with a straight face.

“ oh! Really! So are you trying to say, you are really disabled, you cannot walk!” - Trisha said in a challenging way.

“Of course, when I cannot walk, how can I say I can walk?” - Vihaan answered.

“ Fine! Let’s see who is right and who is not.” - Trisha replied with a smug smile while gazing over something at a  distance.

Trisha walked to the centre table and picked up the knife from the fruit basket. She looked back to Vihaan and warned him “ think again, Vihaan. I am not a very kind person.”

Looking at the fruit knife in Trisha’s hand, Vihaan’s expression didn’t change but he gulped down his saliva before Trisha could notice.

Trisha came near Vihaan with the knife and gave Vihaan a sinister smile which typically a villain gives to a hero in cinemas. “ Do you plan to confess the truth? I am giving you a chance. If you don’t take the chance, I will not show any mercy to you. So, answer very smartly.” - Trisha even spoke like the villain of cinema.

“Either you are a psycho or love to act like a villain.” - Vihaan replied with a bored face. He found his wife’s act very childish.

“ Yes, correct! I love Villains more than heroes in cinema. My all favourite actors are villains. ” - Trisha replied excitedly.

“ Yeah, I have already guessed that I got married to a mental case.” - Vihaan said with a pitiful face.

“ Hey! Don’t call me mental. Don’t try to be over-smart. What have you thought? You will avoid the topic? Last chance, confess honestly that you can walk or I will stab you in the leg to prove my point.” - Trisha again warned Vihaan.

“Why would I lie? Who wants to pretend as a disabled person? This is the truth! I really have no idea why you have such a misconception.” - Vihaan said earnestly.

“ Ohh really! Let’s see then…” - snickering, Trisha slowly stabbed the knife into Vihaan’s right leg. For some seconds, none of their expressions changed. But after some seconds Trisha’s expression changed drastically from one to another. From snickering to shock and then to guilt, when she noticed blood oozing out from the place She stabbed and on Vihaan’s face there was no expression of pain or discomfort.

Trisha hurriedly removed the knife and looked at the blood on the knife with a horrified expression.

“Happy?!!” - Vihaan asked with a poker face. Completely ignoring Trisha’s guilty face, Vihaan shouted his attendant, Rajiv’s name. Within a minute a man almost the same age as Vihaan entered the room and seeing the red patch on his master’s leg he gasped while looking at the knife in his master’s new wife’s hand.

Before Rajiv could ask how and why this happened, Vihaan ordered him to take him to the washroom and help him first aid his wound.

Trisha was feeling very guilty and also confused. She didn’t understand how her information came out wrong. She had no plan to stab the knife. She thought before the knife could touch the skin of Vihaan’s leg, Vihaan would stop her in fear. But Vihaan didn’t and in motion she just stabbed him.

Rajiv was just about to push Vihaan’s wheelchair inside the washroom when Trisha stopped him and offered to help him. When Vihaan didn't reply, She requested him to let her help him.

Vihaan looked at her for some second and said with a mockery expression “ why? Now, do you have amnesia? Have you forgotten? Our marriage is a contract marriage!”

Trisha pouted and looked down when Vihaan taunted her with her own dialogue. Seeing her expression Vihaan’s lips curled up into a small smile but Trisha didn’t notice that, only Rajiv did. Rajiv pushed Vihaan inside the washroom and closed the door. Trisha just stood outside the washroom with a lowered face like the toddler who made a mistake and his parents were not ready to forgive him.
