CHAPTER FOURTY

CHELSEA POV

"Chelsea," Emily called from outside as I arrived in the cab. Her expression made me guess she had told Liam.

Rather than answering her call, I walked ahead, entering the building and not stopping until I got to my room. All through, she kept following me.

"At least answer me," She begged once she was in my room. "What do you want to hear, a lie, I can't tell you it's alright Emily because that would be a lie, I trusted you with something and you go spilling it,"

"I did it for your own good Chelsea, you shouldn't use hatred to affect an innocent life," She defended.

"Why, for what reason do you think it was because I hated Liam," I asked. "Then why?" She asked back.

"You should have asked sooner but that's too late, just leave me, please," I requested, taking a few of my stuff.

"Where are you going?" She asked, yet I ignore, stepping out of the room with some of my things.

"Love," Mr. Matthew called, he seemed puzzled seeing me packing the little things I have..

"Are you alright, did he threaten you to leave, do you want me to get involved?" He interrogated, his words rushing in.

"I'm not going to his place and this is why I have to leave, I don't want you getting involved or getting hurt, I can handle myself and I will drop by to see you once in a while," I explained.

"Liam won't hurt me, so you don't need to worry," I assured, he was relieved a bit but still unsettled.

"But it's night," He pointed at. "I will handle myself," I said. "Alright then, maybe it's time for you to use this," He mumbled to himself, gently pulling me downstairs to a garage.

Once I got there, he pointed to me, a car he had brought with my name as the plate number.

"It's too much," I mumbled in shock. "You have to take it, it's the only way you can leave this house," He said.

"Why do you think Emily can be anywhere and I don't worry about her?" He whispered in my ear.

"Is there a camera?" I asked him. "More than that," He devilishly replied. "Now no wasting time, there will be a family dinner this weekend, you have to come, or else," He warned, pulling me into the front seat.

He patted my head before waving goodbye as I started the car, slowly driving off. All through as I drove off, he smiled, waving till I couldn't see him anymore.

I was extremely tired by the time I arrived, so I slept on the couch.

LIAM POV.

"Take her far, to another city," Kelvin suggested. "What?" I exclaimed. "Well if it's far, you guys spend more time on the road, you can even take her to a restaurant under the pretext of you being hungry and you have to order her something which will make it look like a date," he explained.

I smiled, the thought of the date played in my head and I couldn't help it, I love the idea. "I will look for the best in another city and give you the address," He informed, standing up and leaving.

I was left alone with my thoughts, a restless one as my mind only played her pictures repeatedly in my head.

I wanted to see her, I heard she had gone back to her father's villa and was staying there.

After a long struggle, I took my keys, driving to see her. It was quite a long drive but I finally arrived, finding myself parked in front of a highly secure gate.

It shocked me whenever I put my hands anywhere. The gate was tall, so was the wall, so high it was hard to see the inside and too high to risk jumping over.

They were also electric wires at the top, to prevent the thought of going over the wall. "Who is there?" I heard her voice when I pressed a button.

"Chelsea, it's me," I replied. "Just give me a minute," She says after a long pause. After a while, she comes outside from the gate, closing it before I could grasp a view.

"I thought you said tomorrow," She muttered as she walked closer to me. "I heard you were staying alone and I got.." my words cut short as she placed my hand on her belly.

"It's still safe and it's still alive, so you don't need to be worried. As you can see, the security system here is top notch, so nothing can happen, plus, Matthew men are also guiding the gate. I saw some a few hours ago, so you don't need to worry, your baby is safe," She explained all at once.

"I'm not worried about the baby, I'm worried about you," I defended, stopping him before she could say anything else.

"If you were worried about you, you shouldn't have allowed me to keep the child," She mumbled, after which she breathed in.

"I'm not a property of yours for you to worry about Liam, you will need to put a ring or better still another contract for you to claim me and heaven knows that's not happening,"

"Now, if you don't mind, I was about having lunch when you decide to show up, I'm going back in," She announces, walking right past me.

"Tomorrow, by nine, don't be late," I said, holding her hands before she could leave completely.

She smiled, her hand calmly pulling my hands off her. "Until I give you permission, don't touch me,I don't like it" She calmly complained.

"And don't worry, I won't be late, I don't want to provoke his royal highness," She mocks.

Before she left, she looked back a bit, shaking her head, mumbling something to herself before going back in.

She seems to have gained more attitude. I like this, it seems that the more she pulls away from me, the more she resists my touch. Makes me want her to be closer to me than ever.
