CHAPTER FOURTY ONE
CHELSEA POV.
"Chelsea, I know you can hear me, you can't keep ignoring me forever,'l" Emily yelled from the gate. I had lost count of the times she had been here requesting that I answer her.
"I will electrocute myself if you don't come out," She threatened. Smiling, I turned the camera to the gate, watching her make a few attempts but pulling out. "I'm serious, I'm really going to do it, you can stop me by answering me," She said, her eyes closed as she was about to touch the gate.
"The gate is open," I announced, pressing the button that let's her in. She sighed, arranging herself before entering. Her heart was pounding by how fast the door shut against her.
Wearing my robe, I heard downstairs, meeting her halfway before she got lost. "Woah, Chelsea this is big, I wasn't imagining this," She mumbled as I took her inside.
"So you had a place like this and you,". "I couldn't show it, this was my dad's house, he says my mom was pregnant for me here, if they knew about it, then they would have claimed it here first and I wouldn't have protected it then," I explained, cutting her words shut.
"Chelsea, I'm really sorry, I didn't mean it, I panicked and I thought it was your only option, telling him was the only way I knew could stop you, I'm sorry, I really am," She apologies, her hand gripping to me.
"Emily, enough, the truth is, you let your assumption take over you, you let what you desire block you for not wanting to reason the other person desires and the truth is, even though I want to be mad at you, I just can't that doesn't mean I don't deserve some space to think things through," I explained.
"But you would come back to me right?" She asked, her voice so low, I could barely hear. "When I have arranged my thoughts then yes, I would," I answered, her smile as wide as ever.
"Now if you excuse me, I'm supposed to meet Liam today and am already running late," I informed, standing up and leaving to get dressed.
She offered to follow me, which I simply declined. With the distance, I know I won't make it by nine.
"Emily, I can handle myself, I'm already late, we will talk tomorrow," I hurriedly dismissed, entering the car and driving off.
I arrived forty five minutes past the time, which made the situation worse, my chest really heavy as I walked in.
"Good morning," I greeted, drawing the receptionist's attention. "I'm here to see Liam, please," I explained, not having to introduce myself as she was quite aware of my presence.
"Sorry ma but he is having a meeting, do you mind waiting or I should call you back when the meeting ends,"She offered.
"I will wait, but it's there a way you can send a message to him, that I'm waiting, please, it's much of an emergency," I pleaded, watching her give a gentle nod before leaving her table for a while.
"His secretary would attend to you," She informed me when she got back. It didn't take long before Natalie showed up, by the way she grinned.
"He doesn't wish to see you, you miss the time, he asked you come another time," Natalie says, her words announcing her presence.
Now I know that Liam was pissed but that won't stop him from seeing me, especially when we are going for a scan to see his unborn child.
He couldn't hide his excitement and came to me yesterday, it was weird that he refused to see me.
"Did you even inform him at all or you are just going to tell me one of your lies again?" I asked.
"Well, that's something we can never find out, except if you want to make a fool of yourself and barge into the meeting, you are free to," She challenged.
"I demanded to see Liam because I have the right, now someone go and tell Liam that or else, hell will let loose here," I threatened, purposely ignoring her.
"Move one inch and you get fired," She threatened back, having them pause their movement.
"You don't understand, when Liam is not here, I am the second in command, so now that I'm asking politely, please leave," She warned.
"Politely," I repeated. "Yes Chelsea, I'm not Liam that falls for your charm, first you use your body now you are going to use the thing in your stomach, I'm not stupid, I know everything was planned between you and Emily, to have him run to you but I plan on ending it," She pauses, closing the gap between us and leaning close to my ear.
"Liam was originally meant to be mine before your seductive act came to play, I'm not going to lose like before so go before things get ugly," she whispered.
"And if I don't leave?" I asked. "Then I will release this, of course you don't want it to be seen by others," She replied, handing me her phone.
My attention is focused on the video. I froze, watching myself and Liam that night, she somehow had the video of everything.
The traumatizing night that had blurred in my memories seems to be coming back fresh.
"Should I show this to the rest, how do you want to explain to them that the accident was actually Liam putting you in your place, giving what a hooker like you deserve," She whispered.
I knew she had more than that but at this point, I was slowly losing it, fighting the images playing in my head.
At one point, I scrambled to the floor, screaming in pain. Never have I once thought of that night but now watching it, I couldn't help it, reliving the incident, feeling the same pain, the same betrayal that was accompanied with that night.
And then it kicked in, the pain I felt in my stomach. If I lose the baby here, would Liam ever understand that it wasn't my fault, will I still get blamed?
