Chapter 27 Audition

As Suzette expected, Ruby regretted her decision as soon as she went home. She went to bed to sleep and didn't bother about what Suzette thought.

She just thought that what Suzette said in the morning were empty threats.

But alas, Suzette was serious about it.

Standing at the door, Suzette rang the bell for quite a while without anyone coming to the door.

Standing beside her, Lindsey wiped the sweat from his forehead and said, "Has she left the apartment? Why don't we give her a call?"

"Take out the key."

Suzette rejected Lindsey's suggestion and asked Lindsey for the keys. She knew that Lindsey had the keys to the apartment which was supposed to be under her care.

All agents of artists who worked with Sky Royal Entertainment would have the keys to their apartment for ease of contact.

Lindsey could only take out the key for her.

When they opened the door, the apartment was in a mess. Shoes were all over the floor and there was a thick smell of alcohol. There were several bottles of wine on the table.

Lindsey shook his head and explained, "Ruby loves to drink, these appear to be from last night."

Suzette didn't answer but she doesn't seem impressed.

She walked towards the sitting room and her gaze fixated on the closed bedroom door. The other rooms were opened.

Without thinking further, Suzette proceeded.

She turned the doorknob, it wasn't locked and she easily opened the door.

There was a rush of cold air which was rather comforting and Ruby was inside fast asleep.

Suzette stood at the door and knocked loudly.

Ruby started to react to the knocks and she struggled to open her eyes and saw Suzette standing by the door.

She grabbed her blanket and remarked in surprise, "Why are you here?"

Suzette said emotionlessly, "Do you know what time it is?"

When she saw the stern expression on Suzette, Ruby naturally remembered what she agreed in the morning but now she had changed her mind. Her temper flared.

"I'm not going. When I think about it, it's truly a waste of my time. If you were capable, find me a lead role." She said arrogantly as she laid on the bed.

Suzette didn't want to waste her breath arguing with her. She immediately threw the contract onto the bed, "This is a copy of the contract. Turn to page 27 and have a good look. If you do not abide by the arrangements, I can stop all of your related activities. You can try me if you dare."

"You!"

Ruby looked at Suzette furiously. She could see that Suzette was serious and she could only control her temper.

"Get out, I need to change."

"I give you 10 minutes."

"I still need to makeup, 10 minutes aren't enough!"

"I'll makeup for you at the location."

Ruby couldn't believe what she heard and glared at Suzette.

Suzette was naturally beautiful and her make up was very befitting which accentuated her facial features. This also showed how good her makeup skills were.

Ruby had no choice and did as she was told.

Suzette went out of the room and Lindsey was seated in the living room. He had no reason to follow her into the bedroom.

After all, he was a man and knew his boundaries.

Lindsey was impressed by Suzette. "Suzette, are you as firm and quick-witted when you were overseas?"

Suzette shook her head, "Not exactly, you'll need to understand the character of the artist to know how to deal with them effectively."

Someone like Ruby must be forcefully dealt with.

Perhaps it was Suzette's firmness that got things moving. Before 10 minutes were up, Ruby had changed and she wore a large pair of sunglasses. She didn't put on her makeup.

She had cosmetic surgery done and if she doesn't makeup, the scars would be obvious and she had to cover them up with the sunglasses.

Suzette didn't mind that.

Three of them arrived at Citylink Productions after a short drive.

Due to prior coordination, the staff at Citylink Productions brought them directly to an empty holding room.

"The director had instructed that this room is yours to utilize."

"Thanks." Suzette politely replied.

If it wasn't for Suzette's other interactions with Warren, they wouldn't have such privileges.

Lindsey looked at Suzette in full admiration.

"Lindsey, bring me my bag."

"At once!"

When they left the office, Suzette asked Lindsey to take a large bag of hers. Inside were her cosmetics.

Five years ago, Suzette was a blank sheet of paper. She didn't know anything.

She slowly developed and her makeup skills improved to the level of a beautician.

Of course, Suzette was able to pick up this skill because when the makeup artist was too busy to cope, she can fill in and get the artists ready.

"Sit down, I'll help you with the makeup."

Ruby said sarcastically, "Don't you ruin my face."

Suzette didn't bother and started.

She did the makeup as per her understanding of the script and the role that Ruby would play.

Since she was to be the courtyard lady, she needs to look natural.

Suzette lets out a breath, "Have a look in the mirror."

Before Ruby could look at herself in the mirror, Lindsey already gasped with his eyes wide opened.

What kind of black magic makeup technique is this? Ruby was like a totally different person and different from the previous makeup.

"You… why don't you become a makeup artist?" Ruby was equally shocked. Now she was really impressed with her agent.

Suzette wasn't delighted by the praises.

"This is the script. Memorize part of it and practice in front of me."

They only had two hours remaining.

Ruby's attitude was lifted by the makeup and started to take the task seriously.

Under Suzette's guidance, the short script was easily and successfully rehearsed.

"If you maintain this form, the role is definitely yours. The movies directed by Warren typically have several strong characters. If your acting is good, you will be able to showcase yourself in the movie."

Suzette said confidently. If you can't get the lead actress role, then perform well for the supporting role to highlight yourself.

Ruby seemed to realize this and picked up her spirits.

It was about time.

The Citylink Productions' audition started and Suzette brings Ruby in.

As per Suzette expected, even though it was the role of a courtyard lady, there were a lot of competitors. The stage was very grand.

But the audition was very strict. Numerous artists were rejected by Warren before they even began.

It was finally Ruby's turn.

Ruby was nervous and Roderick, who was seated below the stage, caught her eyes.

Why was he here?
