Chapter 26 Solution

Sharlene intentionally wanted to stir up the atmosphere and there were more and more people watching the scene.

She said sarcastically, "Hey, you people remember this face, this shameless slut!"

Roderick was increasingly furious. He wanted to say something to shut Sharlene's mouth but was stopped by Suzette several times.

He didn't understand why she would let Sharlene slander her.

Suzette smiled and signaled him to relax.

How will she allow Sharlene to slander her? Five years ago was because she was weak and that was why she lost everything.

It was different now.

When she was abroad, she once hired someone to investigate them out of hatred.

She was better off not investigating but the results were alarming.

"Have you said enough?" Suzette coldly said.

Sharlene who was still spewing nonsense was interrupted by Suzette. She turned and looked at her in discontent but saw that Suzette was emotionless and her eyes were icy cold.

Sharlene was momentarily shocked but picked up her courage and continued her rant.

Sharlene was all encompassing in her verbal assault.

"Why? Are you going to beat an old lady? There are so many witnesses here. You'd better think twice." Sharlene yelled.

Suzette had no reason to continue arguing with her.

Just nice the restaurant manager was present. Suzette walked around Sharlene to the manager and said that she needs to utilize the large screen.

Though it was a restaurant, for its own entertainment, the restaurant had a big screen to project movies.

"I just need to play a video to proof my innocence."

The manager was upset with this scene and wanted it to be resolved quickly.

"I guarantee that after I play this video, she will definitely leave."

With Suzette's guarantee, the manager started to be curious.

Sharlene didn't know what Suzette was about to do and continued to slander her in front of the onlookers.

A few minutes passed and the large screen started to display a simple message which attracted everyone's attention.

Sharlene was laughing, "There is nothing you can do to clear your name, slut!"

As soon as she finished, her face appeared on the big screen. She was sitting in a high-end restaurant, oblivious that she was being recorded by someone.

She was eating and talking, "Did you say that my ex-daughter-in-law is suffering in M country? That's too bad."

This video was taken by a private investigator hired by Suzette when shew as in M country for a year.

She got the private investigator to find out what that family schemed against her.

It was originally meant as a test but Suzette didn't expect this investigator to be so effective in getting Sharlene to spit out the truth.

It was as if she didn't feel bad about it and was proud of what she did.

Her son didn't spend much effort and was able to con a woman out of her money and property.

Other men are hard trying to earn money and couldn't find a wife.

"Let me tell you, my ex-daughter-in-law was easy to fool. My son and her friend combined to fake the marriage and managed to get her money and property. She couldn't even resist. Young man, you look like a good man, shall I teach you some of these?"

Sharlene bragged in the video.

At this time, the onlookers in the restaurant looked at Sharlene with disgust.

Sharlene started to blush as all that she said about Suzette was now turned against her.

She sat on the floor and wailed, "That's fake! Fake! This video was made by her!"

Suzette laughed and walked to Sharlene. She squatted down to look at Sharlene in the eye.

"I didn't intend to show this video but now you continued to slander me. I have even more damning videos, do you want to watch?"

Sharlene was not scared.

She quickly stood up and ran out of the restaurant.

And now Suzette signaled to the manager to turn off the screen.

She no longer had the appetite for lunch.

Roderick could also tell. He went ahead to pay the bill and left with Suzette.

The onlookers dispersed and perhaps they will continue to talk about this. But after a while, they would realize that it was not that interesting.

These kinds of things were just small incidents that everyone just ignores.

"I'll let you take your leave this afternoon. Where do you want to go?"

Roderick wasn't at the office this morning and drove over because he wanted to have lunch with Suzette.

Suzette raised her eyebrow and joked, "Are you really giving me the rest of the day off or are you too lazy to work?"

"Then as your boss, I'm ordering you to come with me for a drive." Roderick continued her sentence.

Suzette shook her head, "No, I have something that I need to do this afternoon."

She remembered that she had an appointment with Ruby and she had to complete what she set out to do.

Though her wounds from five years ago were ripped open and she was hurting, she knows that wallowing in pity does not resolve anything.

After she composed herself, she laughed and said to Roderick, "Send me back to the office. I am now focusing my efforts on my work. Only then will I be able to live up to your expectations."

She blinked her eyes after saying.

Roderick could not counter what she said.

"Okay, I understand, I'll send you to the office now."

Roderick has a lot of interactions with women but almost all of it was work-related.

But this was the first time he met someone like Suzette.

It was inexplicable but he had a fondness for her when he first met Suzette.

The restaurant was very near to the office and very quickly Roderick was able to send Suzette back, "I look forward to your subsequent performance."

No matter what, he was very impressed with her work performance.

Suzette nodded, "I'll do my best."

Back at the office, Suzette ate some bread to fill her stomach and rested her head on the table for a nap.

It as about time and she asked Lindsey to prepare the car to pick Ruby up.

"She has a driver, is there a need to pick her up?" Lindsey asked.

Suzette nodded, "I'm afraid that she reneges."

Though Suzette said those words to Ruby in the morning, there was no assurance that Ruby won't renege. After all, she was capable of doing that.

The place where Ruby lived was a property that Sky Royal Entertainments had some shares in. Most of the tenants were movie stars of various degrees and the security was tight.

The security guards and property management had received specialized training.

It was impossible for paparazzi to enter the compound.

Being an authorized agent, Suzette had the access card and was able to come and go as she wished.

She went directly to Ruby's apartment to look for her.
