While we are on the way home, I can’t help but to stare at him while he is driving. I’m feeling guilty for judging him when I haven’t seen this side of him. I really thought that he’s just basically cold and that’s his personality already but I was wrong.
“Why are you staring at me?” He asked. Even the tone of his voice changed and is now gentle.
“Nothing,” I answered and looked straight in front of me to make him believe that it’s just nothing.
“Let’s go to the field later. I know that you miss outside’s scenery already,” he then said which made me feel excited.
“Sure,” I agreed. “I want to taste the dirty ice cream as well,” I added which made him chuckle. Did I look cute when I said that? Because I’m not trying to be funny for him to laugh.
Both of us became quiet again making me remember what’s bothering me a while ago. Sometimes, I tend to over think which I know isn’t really a good thing but am I just over thinking or is everything seems to be really weird?
“Drop it, Hans. What’s bothering you?” He asked after noticing that I’m staring at him again.
I felt like lying but I also felt that doing so would only add on to my curiosity so I decided to ask what’s been bothering me.
“I feel like you really changed all of a sudden. I don’t know, Heaven. I just find it really weird,” I admitted.
“I already told you that I’m just doing what I promised. Don’t assume anything,” he said in a gentle manner which really didn’t answer my question.
Or is it just an answer I don’t want to accept?
“I’m not assuming,” I denied.
“Okay,” he answered in a tone that will make me feel that he doesn’t believe what I just said.
After a while, we arrived at our building. Finally, I’m back.
We were walking towards our unit when we saw Stone along the way. I find it awkward since our last meeting yesterday didn’t turn out good and I don’t know if Heaven has an idea of what happened but I felt the tension when I saw him staring at him.
“We were supposed to visit the hospital right now because we thought that you’d still be there,” he informed me. “Are you okay now?” He asked.
I was about to answer already but Heaven butted in.
“As you can see, he’s now okay,” he answered coldly.
“It’s nice to know,” Stone awkwardly answered and diverted the attention back on me. “Anyway, I photocopied my notes already and I would give it to you maybe by tomorrow so that you can catch up on our class,” he told me which I really appreciated because of his effort.
Again, I was about to answer but Heaven suddenly spoke.
“No need for that. I have my notes that Hans could study,” he held my hand after saying that. “He needs to rest now.”
Stone couldn’t even react on how fast Heaven pulled me and started walking towards our unit. When we’re already inside and there’s no trace of Stone around us, he let go of my hands and started walking normally.
I didn’t say anything about his attitude a while ago. He’s back to the old Heaven that I knew before today and I tried to understand why.
When we finally reached our unit, I saw that the other guys are not yet here. Maybe they really have to do something that I thought was suspicious a while ago because of Heaven’s signal but is actually true.
I plumped down to our sofa in the living room because I miss this kind of environment. Being stuck in an all-white room for how many days is really draining for me and now that I’m seeing this unit again is making me more alive.
“Chill out!” Heaven warned me as he saw me fall heavily on the sofa. “Your wound is still fresh,” he added to remind me that I still have my wound.
To be honest, I felt it sting a little when I plumped down the sofa but I didn’t mind it because I miss laying down here.
“The sofa is soft,” I answered at him to defend what I did but I know that it isn’t a valid excuse.
“You’re so silly,” he laughingly said. I thought that he would be mad at me for answering that way but he’s not. “Rest for now. We’ll go to the field once you woke up.”
I thought that he’s back to the old version of him because he was like that at Stone a while ago but him being sweet right now doesn’t show any trace of him being cold a few minutes ago.
“Do you want to eat anything first?” He asked upon noticing that I am still on the sofa.
“I already ate at the hospital,” I answered. “Thank you,” I added to make him feel like I really appreciate him right now.
“Okay,” he acknowledged my answer. “Go to your room for you to rest well. It’s hot in there,” he instructed me.
It’s not really hot in here but my room’s colder than the living room. I’ve been stuck at the hospital with the air-conditioning unit on for twenty four hours so I wanted this little heat right now.
“I’d sleep here,” I informed him then removed my shoes and placed it beside the sofa so that I could wear it instantly once I get up.
